Hey everyone. My mom and I went to a cat show, and ending up coming home with the sweetest Persian we've ever seen. However, we're having the hardest time coming up with a name for this little guy. He's 5 months and so cute.

How beautiful!

Names are hard - my 2 cats mostly named themselves. Jasmine renamed herself Beans and Jake used to be Emily until he got old enough for things to appear - ahem.

What types of names are you looking for? Maybe you should start a list of categories and write some down in each? Disney(mickey), human names (arthur, norman, max, alex, sam ,fred) , descriptive name (smoocher, fluff, booger).....just try some out. It may sound silly but yell a few around the house as if you are looking for the cat and see how they sound. Don't rush - it took me two weeks to find a name for Murphy 20 some years ago.....

I've always liked Chester or Chet....oh wait! The Chester Cat!!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm currently trying to lure him out from under my bed to test his personality out. He's being a bit of a scaredy cat right now, but that's normal.

Keep 'em coming!

THOSE EYES!!!!!!! I would say Verdi....verdant means green so close enough.....Verdi.

How about Mr. Pettibone? It's the name of a cat that Mickey and friends were in charge of caring for on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I think it's cute!

pretty kitty. My 2 girls are named The Minnies and we just call them Big Minnie and Little Minnie at the vet. They were soo tiny when we found them, they were only HOURS old and I hand fed them and because they were so little, i called the Mini Cats and then it stuck lol.
I think your kitty looks like a Henry.

DH likes to name cats after historical or literary characters, so he's had Romeo, Melville, Zeus, and Napoleon for his boy kitties. I like to name mine after classical music references or my favorite fictional characters, and I've had Oberon, Verdi (already mentioned for the green eyes - I named my fish Verdi after the composer), Mozart, Ludwig, and Giovanni (for Don Giovanni).

For this lovely persian, I'd suggest Verdi, Mozart, or Romeo. He seems very elegant and cute all at once!

Is it a male? how about Mickey. Mine is on my lap at the moment LOL. I thought Fluffy when I saw your pics.

Mine is Buttercup, Mom's are Reese and Peanut LOL so we have Reese Peanut Buttercup!! Mom is silly!

I like Romeo!

How about Percy or Perciville? You get the play on words for Persian and Purr.

He's adorable!

Since he's Persian I'm reminded of the kittens in "The Aristocats." How about Berlioz or Toulouse?

Toulouse is adorable!!!! That's what I immediately thought of.

DH has already said he's naming our next cat Poirot from her Hercule Poirot books.
