I have been using my banks BillPay feature for at least 8 years now. It is great. When a bill comes in the mail I just pull up my account and enter in the amount and the due date. I then deduct those amounts from my check book (even if they won't actually be pulled for a few weeks). That way I am not overspending in other areas at the expense of paying my bills. I have never once in 8 years had a problem with a bill getting there late and I pay EVERYTHING through bill pay except my water/sewer bill (because they only take a physical check). Unless the Internet would be out for 3 weeks, all my bills would get paid on time
I would never give a business automatic access to my checking account. I also set all my utilities up on the budget plan so I am paying the same amount each month. Works great for us and I like knowing exactly what my bill will be each month.
