New job & new house = turning over a new leaf. Online billpaying ??

I have been using my banks BillPay feature for at least 8 years now. It is great. When a bill comes in the mail I just pull up my account and enter in the amount and the due date. I then deduct those amounts from my check book (even if they won't actually be pulled for a few weeks). That way I am not overspending in other areas at the expense of paying my bills. I have never once in 8 years had a problem with a bill getting there late and I pay EVERYTHING through bill pay except my water/sewer bill (because they only take a physical check). Unless the Internet would be out for 3 weeks, all my bills would get paid on time ;)

I would never give a business automatic access to my checking account. I also set all my utilities up on the budget plan so I am paying the same amount each month. Works great for us and I like knowing exactly what my bill will be each month.

I love paying my bills online as well thru my bank, but I don't like the auto deduct had a friend who encountered major headaches with that I just pay each bill and also have checks and stamps on hand just in case ;)

I pay mine different ways. Friday is my payday, so I look at the calendar monthly to make sure what dates paydays are. I still get rewards on my Visa check card, so I pay my cellphone bill on that, but I go on the website and pay it. I have some things autodebited through the bank (I have a separate account for those so I am assured there is enough money in there, which I transfer over the course of the month). I pay my one credit card on their website, but I always pay it the Friday before it's due. Things like EZPass and my newspaper are autodebited through my Visa check card. I just like having control over my bills as much as I can.

I love online bill pay, I do everything through my bank, but I do not use the recurring payment option. I go in at the beginning of the month and set up the payments for the month, if I need to make adjustments I usually have plenty of time to do that and also if I need to make additional payments during the month I'll go in and do that as well.
