I'm having a blast at the zoo!! At times, I feel like I'm working at Disney again. There's a little spiel that I have to give to guests before entering the park. It ranges from the train rides, to the camel rides, to elephant shows and what animals they can and cannot feed.
The kids are all so excited before they come in and it just puts a smile on my face to see how happy everyone is to be visiting our zoo. I found out from my boss that I will be trained to do the train ride which is a minature safari ride over 30 acres of our zoo! YIPPEE!!
I am EXHAUSTED right now though. I've been working 9 hour days at the zoo and still working at Ruby's a few days a week, somedays working both jobs!!
So tomorrow is my day off and I'm sleeping til I'm done!!
I am so happy to finally be happy once again going to work. I still enjoy Ruby's to a point and love the quick money, but I'm tired of it, and I just want something different and a little more steady in pay. At Ruby's last week I made $202, the week before $387, and the week before that $352. Although it was good money, it's inconsistent. At the zoo, I know if I work 40 hours a week for two weeks, I'm going to make about $480 before taxes and about $440 afterwards...those are guesses, but you guys get the point. No, it's not what I make working at Ruby's, but I don't care....I'm just happy to be on a job where I'm having so much fun!!
I'm also going to be helping on the catering end of things. We do weddings, banquets, parties, and things of the such. HOW EXCITING! I told them so long as it's not a Saturday to give me a call and I'll be there! I've decided to have my reception at the zoo when DH and I renew or vows in 2006! I'm very excited about that. :happy1: (and because I work there now....they're going to give me a discount....WHOPPEE!!)
Well, I'm off. Must eat dinner and rest! Thanks for being here gang!
Denise!!
