New incentives?

How does this work as far as timing for receiving your points? Do you get the points when you go under contract or when it closes after final payment? Thanks.
It’s there pretty much when you get your username setup. Doesn’t have to be fully paid. If you already have an account, it was pretty much when you sign - either that day or the next day.

Did you get your points in March or do you have to wait until closing? Thanks.

Points load the same day. I bought in March, delayed closing until 90 days...just closed 6/2 officially, but have had my points to set up bookings as soon as I gave the deposit.

Remind me, if my use year is August, and I buy in July, will I get 2021 points? And will they be automatically banked into 2022?

ETA: I’m thinking RIV.

Depends on what resort you buy. You won’t get it for VGF. Probably for riviera. Would have to talk with you guide but I would assume they would work with you.

I would love a 10-day pass. Give me one year to use it. Assures Disney I’m not showing up an unlimited number of times, which is the uncertainty Disney gets with the annual pass.
This would be perfect! Have park tickets that you pay some premium over the regular ticket prices so you can use them all year. 10, 15, 20 day tickets. And you can always add or take away some of the options

Yeah they used to have a 10 day hopper that never expired, then they started charging to add the non expiring option. THEN they just took it away. I don't think you can even buy a 10 day tickets anymore at all.

Agree! When I used to take the train to work and didn't need the monthly pass for whatever reason, I always loved buying 10-trip tickets. Same principle applies here. Don't really need an AP, but a break on the regular price would be much appreciated when we have many park days planned throughout the year.

Yes, you can still buy 10 days worth of tickets, but you have to assign the first use date due to dynamic daily pricing assignments. if you dont use all the tickets within the dates selected, the unused tickets can be used as credits to purchase on new dates, but you will pay the difference up on the new dates and not get a refund if you next daily dates rate are cheaper.

Yes to 2021 points (except for VGF where they don't have 2021 points to sell). Automatically? No, you'll have to call in, but they WILL bank them.

As a data point, I talked to my rep yesterday via Zoom to finalize pricing. I pushed back that I needed the Aug/Sept UY, not sure if this is new or not, but I was told currently they aren't selling Aug and Sept due to it being past the banking window for those months. Next available was Oct - April. I really wanted that Aug/Sept time frame. (we vacation anytime Sept, Oct-beginning Nov, and early Feb) I've heard of people having success getting a manager but even the manager said they can't offer it.

Initially they both said currently February was the one they are pushing for Riviera but based on our vacation patterns they said we could have March. We plan far in advance so I don't think it will be an issue.

They will push you toward specific ones and I have heard they are being less accommodating in selling late in the UY…but, if you are ready to buy and want Aug or Sept, call back and let them know you really have to think about it and are not ready to commit since those are not ideal for your travel plans.

Id then follow up that if he can figure a way to get you one of those to let you know as you’d put the deposit done immediately.

Most often it happens and you get the target UY you want!

Thank you for the advice! We actually did tell them we were ready to buy, all cash (Dave Ramsey would be proud lol), and they still couldn't budge.

They did a screen share and said that they system wouldn't allow them to put in either of those UY's on the contract paperwork. I was hoping for a manager over ride but he said there was nothing he could do from his end. Maybe something was updated?
We still have some time before we head down on July 1st so maybe they will come around, if not March isn't the worest.

Agreed, I bought late December, they pushed a March U/Y as the best they could do, but I insisted on February and after the guide talked to their team in the back office, they redid the contract. I just needed to call member services right after close to bank the points without issue (it was my first direct contract and membership).

I would love this option.

Just heard back this morning and they approved the August UY!!!! But they did warn me they can't guarantee I will be able to bank 2021's points with Member Services due to it being after the banking window and closing in on the end of the August UY. Hopefully that won't be an issue.
Thanks for the advice!!!

An annual pass with a 10 day cap? The tickets are a single park per day (not a park hopper), no parking included, no discounts, no photos, no water/sports add-on options. The 10 day ticket is $640. Comparing them it would be a huge price increase.
I would never go more than 10 days in one year, or atleast right now. So there is no point for me to pay $899 or what ever the AP was when we could get it briefly and you know it will be much more when it comes back. I get the discounts already being DVC and if I recall, memory maker is no longer included anyway. So I'd rather pay the 850 a 10 day park hopper is (for the week of thanksgiving, just to look at the higher priced ones) and be able to use that over a year, than to pay more for something I can't/won't use anyway. Theres no reason to pay more for an ap if you know you can't use it enough to make it worth it.

Don't worry...they will! Their calls are recorded so they are sure to tell you that on the one off something does happen. IIRC, the home resort rules and regulations even give them the power to late bank for new purchases. Congrats!!!
