New incentives?

On-site only APs was the problem. Off-site locals need APs too. So, having both would be better.
But maybe not better for Disney.

I guess what I'm saying is that they could have a tier of AP's that is designed for on-site guests. You could even offer this very cheaply because it also acts as excellent advertising for your on-site hotels.

I think it would be crazy to have it as the only option for people who like to make more than one trip per year to the parks.

I have bought DVC while APa were **** off and have bought quite a bit of points because I have a large family and need 2 and 3 bedroom accommodations. How has buying APs with the DVC discount ( buying the sorcerers pass) worked in the pass? Can I buy it for just the people on the deed or can I purchase for all of my kids? Just curious

If you are eligible DVC owner, you can get up to 8 per household. So, the kids who live with you, yes. If your kids become adults and move out, then no.

Its why I added my adult children to the deed in 2019, as they no longer live with me. Now that they are official owners, they are eligible for the DVC AP for them and their households.

I sincerely hope Disney keeps APs the way they used to be. You could go in for any days that you aren't blacked out for, and no need for park reservations. Am I naive? Assuredly.

I would pay a premium to have an AP that gave me access whenever I wanted. The flexibility premium I suppose. I don't want to feel upset that I burned one day out of our 30 days allotment (assuming the 30-day AP someone else described above comes to pass - purely hypothetical) because my little one decided she wanted to see the fireworks at 8pm, and we had to haul butt to Epcot for 9pm on what we originally planned to be a pool day.

Now this would be a nice incentive (trying to tie this back into the actual thread topic)... buy a DVC contract for at least 150 points direct, and be entered into a chance to win two (2) Incredi-passes!! One entry per contract, terms and restrictions apply, subject to park pass reservations, may be revoked at any time at the discretion of Disney, you know, the usual...

Thanks. I assume the adding to the deed is pretty painless just add money.

I searched and didn't find any discussions for local guests regarding annual passes or incentives. So, I went to the main menu of DISboards to find the right forum for local Walt Disney World day guests who are not planning a "trip" or "vacation." The teal blue band at the top is for those planning a trip or vacation. There is no category that fits the local guest who is not going multiple days in a row and who does not stay on-site. Can such a category/forum be created please? I can't do it just starting a thread because it would be in the wrong forum category.

You can email the admins@wdwinfo.com to share your idea.

$300 gets you the “Magic Pass” with Annual Pass style benefits for a whole year. Parking, shopping/dining discounts, and the option to add park days for only $50 per day. That’s half off the regular gate cost!

For an extra $200 you can upgrade to the Magic Pass+ with TiW style dining discounts and photopass.

Disney gets money every time anyone clicks the turnstile. It may look cheaper on the surface with a 300 starting point but it’ll hit us in the long run paying for every admission, which is what they want.

I hate it.

An annual pass with a 10 day cap? The tickets are a single park per day (not a park hopper), no parking included, no discounts, no photos, no water/sports add-on options. The 10 day ticket is $640. Comparing them it would be a huge price increase.

It would be worth it if we didn't have to assign dates to them.

I think you are on the right path with only one problem. The prices will be even higher than what you propose above.

Honestly at that price point it would be a pretty good deal. $1,000 would get you 2 separate 7-day vacations and also all of those other benefits? Sign me up!

Less attractive for the people who spend more like 30 days a year in the parks, of course. But for most people, that would be a great way for Disney to encourage more time in their own parks.

Yeah maybe I underestimated the prices compared to the incredipass. I thought it was fair but I went from gold to renewal sorcerer. This was an increase to me but not for Disney, we know they won’t make that mistake. But Disney leaving the business of an unknown number of “free” visits I think could be on the chopping block.

Perhaps it's a silly idea, or one already discussed. For the person described above, perhaps an annual pass that begins with a base number of access days, say 30 for the sake of argument, would work. They don't have to be consecutive or tied to an onsite stay. That's just 30 days of access. You pick'em. If 30-days isn't enough, then they could offer an increasing number of additional days for access at an additional cost. So another 10-day "reload," if you will. These could be priced in such a way that brings value to the customer without giving 300+ days of access in the annual pass.

Just an idea.
That is not silly at all. I would also like to see half day reloads. A lot of seniors just cannot do a whole day. I think many people would enjoy a half day option.

Would DVC members like a half day option if Disney caps days on an annual pass?
Hmm, interesting question. Never thought of it. So would that be something like an "After 4:00 PM" option? Spend the day at the pool or shopping at DS, then head into a park for the afternoon/evening kind of thing? Might be an interesting option.

Maybe make it after 2:00 to align with park hopping.
