New Incentives

okay,

I am now very confused. Our close date is not until June but we signed our paperwork last wk and received our incentives.

Can we still change our deal? I would like to keep our cruise but the RCI certficate is basically worthless unless you can travel last minute. Plus, Mary Poppins tickets and $300 Visa. Seems like the lower cost on AKL would still be better.

Question #2 - Even if we could change incentives - do you now have put up the full 10 percent down or can you still apply the price point reduction to down payment? We used the downpayment assistance with the idea of putting money back down next year when we receive our 8K refund for buying home this year.

Seems like with these price reductions, we WAY overpaid per point for AKL.

Thanks for the advice! By the by, we bought 200 points (only want 1BR in off season and like to bank points sometimes). Hoping for one of the Italy Adventures one day:love:

You would still have time to change your deal. I signed and sent my paperwork back on the 15th of March but had not closed yet and my guide was able to stop the process.

However, if you want to keep the cruise, the discount will only be $10.00 per point. And, you may lose out on those other incentives (like Mary Poppins, RCI, and Visa card) since those may not be available if you switch.

But, even the $10.00 per point is probably more than the discount you received, I am guessing $6.25.

I would call your guide today and ask him what your options are at this point. Mine worked with me and we went through the pros/cons of each and what I would still get and what I would lose (in my case, only DP's).

Good luck!!!

Does anyone know if there are any discounts for 25 points? 50 points? Thanks!

OK, maybe I'm really dense but the way I'm reading this new members get $$ off & a cruise while current members just get a cruise for the first option? Or do you mean that the discounts are for current members also in addition to the cruise? And if you choose option 2 there is a double discount for current members? This would mean I could get $16 off at GCV instead of 150 DP for my 150 point purchase?

Yes...you have a choice: cruise or double $$ discount !!!

It appears that you would get either $8 off per point ($104/pt) + a 3 night cruise. But it's a little tough to tell so maybe it's $6 off.

or you could chose to take $14 off per point ($98/pt) with no other incentives. If the above is $6 then you'd get $12 off per point.

Essentially, it appears DVC decided to roll back prices to last years cost but no additional incentives. Nuff said about the price increase they did a few months ago in this economy.

Just spoke with my guide 10 minutes ago. We have paperwork pending for a 105pt add-on at VGC with the cruise incentive. She verified that with this new incentive, an add-on for us would be $98/pt.

We were not too interested in the cruise, but this new incentive will probably do it for us.

Thanks you guys!!!
I'll call my guide today.
We'll have one and a half year old by next fall and the cruise is just not as appealing as the $ off for us right now... :woohoo:

DVCnews listed an incentive to buy VB last time at 50 pts. Is there still a VB buying incentive????

senecabeach-Thanks so much for posting these!! :goodvibes

I have a question. If exisiting members add on 200pts. and do not want the cruise option, is there an even larger per pt. discount?...meaning more than $16 off?

Bumping up the question an case anyone might know? :)

I'm not adding-on, but I'm making the assumption that at 240 points there will be an additional $2/point discount. DH is calling our Guide today to switch our incentives, so I'll let you know if there is an additional tier at the 240 point (which should translate to an additional tier with an add- on contract as well).

Left a message for our Guide this morning (Let's see how quickly or even if she calls me back) I was going to try to rent our developer points so this new deal seems like it's much better for us.

I am curious to this as well. Anyone know? I'm not sure we need 100 more points, but 50 would be great.

We are changing from BLT to AKL . Forgetting cruise and taking new incentive. I thought I wanted BLT for monorail but love the Rooms at AKL (kids will love AKL) How did you find the bus service?

OK, I just got 50 points at Grand Californian. Yay!!!!!!!!! Even when I'm not there, it will make me happy all year long just know I have this.

It was $112/point minus an $8/point incentive (it would have been onyl $5/point if I had done this two days ago), which makes the amount I pad $108/point.

This is enough points for me for a nice little stay every two or three years. Perfect.

this might be it for us! :goodvibes - put call into my Guide this AM, hoping he calls back before i go to work.
I am so excited i am giddy
:rotfl2:
the heck with it LOL i will keep paying on my auto loan for 23 months, i cannot stand it anymore......i want to get my DVC going

Does anyone know if you can still take the discount off the down payment? Or is it the 10% down, then the discount comes off? Thanks!:flower3:

I believe that you can no longer use the discount towards the down payment. At least that is what my guide said last week anyway.

Just talked with my guide and here's what incentive options he offered me for buying 100 VGC points:

OPTION 1: $8 off per point plus 3 day cruise category 8

OPTION 2: $14 ($8 discount, plus $6 discount since no cruise)

OPTION 3 (for Disney VISA purchase): $800 gift certificate plus two annual passes (at WDW or DL)

OPTION 4: $5 off plus matching developer points to be used by Oct. 3 (this incentive is expired, supposedly, but since I put in my request yesterday I can still get it)

You are adding on correct? I am also looking at 100 GCV and right now have option 4 as posted. My $5 off reduced my downpayment which is a consideration.

If you take Option 3 that is $8 off per point and 2 AP's instead of the cruise?

I am adding on.
And option 3 is INSTEAD of cruise.

This thread has been heavily edited as we do not allow offers for referrals on the open boards. We have a "Referral" thread on Ops for that purpose, where referral posts are allowed.

Also, there were many offers for "pm's" which are also not allowed, again offers for Guides and/or referrals go on the referral thread.

Lastly, there are many posting "subscribing" here. In order to subscribe to a thread, please go to thread tools and select subscribing. Thanks everyone for your cooperation in these regards! :)

OK....what is the current incentive to add-on at SSR? Thanks....
