why ouch out of curiosity? To be honest, them calling it a sweepstakes makes it a bit more legitimate from my background as there are laws governing such things...could just be me..

Because calling it a sweepstakes makes paying taxes (not hotel taxes) more likely as opposed to paying an advertised amount of $1 (and now they are stating the bookers won't be charged anything).

I would rather pay the $7.

From what we're hearing... this is more like a contest than a sale. I believe all you're responsible for are resort taxes, parking fees, etc. (I.e. Swan/Dolphin have a per day charge for the workout room, etc).

But, you may have to claim it as additional income on your 2009 taxes.

The tax on $1 is what? 5 cents?
