New home based business, where to advertise?

I have decided to sign up as a Scentsy consultant. I am not posting a link because I know it's against policy on here. I am looking for advice on where to advertise selling and to book online parties or help someone sign up as well. Is there a home based business site for that?

Thank you for your guidance :)

Welcome :) I wish there was! That would be great! My best advice is to post to your friends on facebook and join some of the consultant facebook groups. Also, use Instagram, maybe Pinterest, and be sure to tell evryone you meet at the grocery store, doctor's office, gas station, etc.

I would throw an open house and check out getting yourself booths at local craft shows and fundraisers. You can let all your friends and family know via FB, but I would say that you shouldn't overwhelm them and post something everyday. I have so many friends on my newsfeed that are trying to sell something that is overwhelming and actually turns me off of buying from any of them.

:thumbsup2.

Thank you. And they ALL seem to be selling Scentsy.:scared1:

Competition for Scentsy seems to be pretty fierce in my area. There are three people in my office that sell it! Maybe look at pairing with a service organization or school for a fundraiser-- it will get your name out there and help a worthy cause.

Are there any guidelines that Scentsy sets as to where and how you can advertise? I ask because when I sold 31 and Tastefully Simple they were very limited as to what you could say online. While it is slim that you would be "caught" it was possible and you could lose your business. They really did not make it easy to sell online.

That being said it is alot easier to get sales in person than advertising online. Hold a huge open house/party and invite pretty much everyone you have ever met in your life. Also do the invites through a fb event invite and an online party for those that can not attend. Encourage orders by offering a prize or free gift with a purchase on a certain day or during a certain hour. You can also do a drawing for a prize and give entries away when guests complete certain tasks ie: bring a friend, bring an order, place an order of $xx.+, order the special of the month, etc, etc. Offer anyone that books a party off your open house a free gift or let them pick one sealed envelope out of a choice of 3 or 4. Usually the curiosity of the envelope will get more people to book a party. DO NOT give them the prize until the day of the party. Some people will cancel and will have the prize will nothing for you.

You have to get in front of people in order to get the sales and the parties. I would look for events in your area where you can set up your products as a vendor for cash and carry and also to book parties. Start looking now for the holiday/fall season. If you wait until then they will already be booked up.

Good luck!

Our local FB yard sale/garage sale groups do allow some local small business advertising. You might want to check your area for that..............P

Thanks for the tips, doing all of the above :) we just moved here a month ago and don't know anyone yet. (Military) I pro a my should have waited a bit before signing up...

With autumn comes a lot of fairs and craft shows and things of that nature.

I would take a look at the local Chamber of Commerce sites, and any town or county sites that list upcoming events.

And consider ordering free business cards from Vistaprint. That way, satisfied customers know how to reach you for refills or Christmas presents.
