new here....wondering if any knows if the deposit is refundable?

Could you be more specific? I presume you mean the deposit you paid for your Disney vacation, but was it through Disney, AAA, a travel agent, or what? Did you book room only or a package? Did you get a special rate or deal?

You may get some helpful replies if we understand exactly what you're asking.

Also need to know when you are checking in. With packages, there is a penalty if you cancel 45 days or less.

As others have posted, more information would be helpful.

Here are some things that might help:

1. Room Only Reservation: If you book only a room at one of the WD owned hotels, then you do not lose your deposit as long as you cancel at least 5 days prior to your arrive. In this case your deposit is all that you have to pay before arriving at your resort.


2. Package Reservation: A package is when you book your room along with tickets and/or dining plan. In this case you have until 45 days prior to arrival to cancel without losing your deposit. You also have to pay the entire package off at the 45 day mark.

Yes, we cancelled a trip that we had put $200 down on. After a short while, we realized that we were not going to make this trip and Disney credited our MasterCard the full $200.

As others have mentioned it depends on what you have booked (package or room only) and how far out you cancel as to what amount of your deposit is refundable.
