Other sites have mentioned that Disney has changed the earliest time that you can obtain a fast pass, but I haven't seen this confirmed. Does anybody know if this is true? What are the details?

I read on TGM that the earliest Fastpass time now will be 10:00.........So they need less CMs at the rides till then .... Bummer for us "Get to MK at opening, pick up FP for Pooh on the way to Dumbo..." people.

Did you say fetch time or use (return) time?

If the earliest time for usage is 10 AM, the difference will be hardly noticed by guests. In fact, this will let the regular (standby) line move unencumbered by Fast Pass guests for a short period of time at park opening.

Who would agree with the idea of allowing only one Fast Pass for any given ride per day per guest?

I wouldn't. For some rides, the instructions for disabled guests are "obtain fast passes for this ride". Haunted Mansion is an example of this. What if you are in a wheelchair and HM is your favourite ride? I wouid go along with having a longer FP wait time for a ride you've gotten a fast pass for...

Ciao,
Mort.

I did notice on our trip in JUne that not all fast passes were open first thing in the morning butthere was a delay - most notibly splash mountain - my kid ran in to get onbaord with my Girlfriend and I went back to get fastpasses - alas the machines were not open yet - did not have that happen when we went to early morning at AK

The earliest RETURN time will be 10 am. You may still obtain Fastpasses as usual. We always send one person in our party to the FP line at ToT while we line up in the standby line for RnR. We are always in the park and at those attractions by 9:05, have had no problems getting our FP's.

The late return time thing has been going on for some time. It's a bit annoying because it makes it more difficult to make a touring plan, but nothing that can't be managed with a bit of planning.

Be careful of sending someone to get FP tickets while you wait on line. I did that with myself and my wife back in june for RnR and TOT, when I got back to the tomorrow of terror and tried to catch up to my wife on the standbye line a cast member confronted me. I explained to him what I was doing while my wife waved on a few turns down the line. He didn't care he said if I didn't get to the end of the line he was calling Disney security. Well not wanting to cause I big fuss I did, and my wife just had to keep on letting people go infront of her.

That is highly unusual. However and we have never encountered that problem.... usually it is because one of us has had to go to the bathroom, so perhaps it was the reason, and not that you were doing it.

The REASON was, you were cutting in line. This is against the rules. Just imagine if everyone did this. It would be total mayhem. What did you save? 5 minutes? Relax you are on vacation.

OK....What if you have to take your son or daughter to the restroom and your family already has been standing in line for an hour now, so you let your spouse stay in line so you don't loose your space. What could the CM possibly do or say? They better not say "No I'm sorry but you have to go back to the end of the line?!?!"...No way! It is not our fault that the line is about an hour long and mother nature is calling us. Geezzz... I don't think it is good customer service if they make a fuss over something like this.

Toilet stops for small children (although why anyone would stand in line for an hour+ with small children is completely beyond me!) is entirely different to someone going and getting fast passes whilst other members of the party hold a position in a line.
Line cutting has to be one of the most annoying things in any park (see another current thread in this forum), and although we've seen it for ourselves many times, I've never once seen a CM enforce the rules (hopefully we've just been unlucky and they really do occasionally)
Personally, with the advent of fast passes, I can't understand why people stand in long lines anyway! Perhaps it's because we have a 3 & a 4 year old, but anything longer than 20 minutes is too long now... But I've always been a little impatient!

The CM sounds like a jerk.

Yep, following guidelines for a job makes the CM a jerk. Bet if you were stopped for speeding a got a ticket the officer would have been a jerk. Look in the mirror.

One would assume you would have taken care of these matters ahead of time.

I remember you from another post. You are the one who doesn't understand small children, right?

Obviously,if you had been blessed with children you would know that you can't always take care of these matters ahead of time.

Maybe you should spend more time doing something else (hee hee) rather than posting on these boards.

The potty situation has happened to me plenty of times. Just tell a CM, and s/he'll hook you up with a front-of-the-line pass or equivalent.

Please be nice. Can't we discuss a topic without stooping to insults around here?
