Last trip I went with three preschoolers and two 8 year olds (the preschoolers are among most infamous for the last minute I have to go to the bathroom). Luckily there are two adults that get in line and we explain that if they "wait until the last minute" and any time they have to leave the line, the persons (adult and child) that left will need to return to the BACK of the line. This is the same line rule they have in preschool and BELIEVE ME, they understand the rule. The adults, of course, frequently ask the children to go to the "potty" and take them about every two to three hours whether they say they have to or not. While I understand that young children who are so excited and distracted by Disney have a much harder time with the "potty", they still need to practice basic courtesy rules. This really limits the last minute trips but hey we all "wait too long" sometimes. WHAT WILL MOST SURPRISE YOU is that last trip this happened only three times (in one week) and most times the people in front of us invited us back to join our party. I have to admit this is also my rule about parades, whoever gets there first gets to be in the front.(unless invited) We always try to get to parades early but on occasions we have been at an attraction and a crowd has already formed. Again, I think it is basic courtesy which I want my children to experience. Even if I did not agree with the line cutting rule (which I do) it fits Disney's definition of line cutting and I also think children need to understand that "others" rules will be enforced and practiced by adults. Lastly, I protect my children by speaking out when somebody cuts in line in front of them. Yes, I am the one who says (politely)please go to the back of the line or I will call a CM and yes there are people who think I am being a "real jerk". I don't argue, I just call a CM and they have asked people to leave the line. If feel if my 3 year old can follow this rule so can the adults.
