What time do the normal park to park buses outside the park start running? This may be something we would consider too, but wasn't sure if normal park to park don't run until later in the day since I can't imagine they would account for anyone who would go to a park then leave immediately?
I've seen them very early. Not sure of the exact time, but close to opening? Maybe ask in a separate thread? I'm sure someone on The Dis knows what time they start.
The one hurdle may be while they could start at park opening I'm not sure they start early enough to make rope drop, unless the other park opens later

I want to see if there are any opinions on utilizing the Express Bus for those who have a car and drive to the parks. What is your strategy typically as far as which park to leave the car at? My original thought was to have our first park also be our last park, so we end the day of hopping where our car is, but now having second thoughts.

Ex. If we want to utilize AM EMH at AK, but just for EMH and then hop elsewhere since the park is likely to be busier the remainder of the day, then would need to make the plan the extra trip back to AK at night which is what we were trying to avoid since nighttime entertainment/shows will likely be more crowded on those AM EMH days. This becomes more of an issue since express (even the one bus after closing) doesn't go to a destination park that isn't still open, which is usually the case give nighttime shows are typically at park closing. Less of an issue if it's PM EMH and we can just RD the PM EMH park, leave, then come back before the express service stops running for EMH, and have the car there.

Unless you had a plan to start and end at the same park I'd skip driving the car and just utilize the resort bus service for getting to/from the parks - since you're talking about EMH it sounded like you're staying onsite. Otherwise the time to get back to the park with your car - or to leave it at a different park that you plan to end at vs to start with is time wasted.

I've been in the park during lightning where they did force people inside (or didn't let them exit a building to go out). It was at Hollywood Studios.
In 2009 I was walking toward the entrance to Hollywood Studios while it was raining and lightning struck somewhere off to the right. The bag check people were even like WHOA that was close. So I try to stay inside a shop or something now when its storming. Wonder if there is anywhere to wait under cover until the express bus starts back up?

We are going there next week. These are the times posted on page 1. Are they still valid:

How often will Guests be picked up? When will it start and stop each day? Guests will be picked up every 30 minutes. Service will begin each day at 10:00am Service will conclude at park close each night.
Will Guests be in backstage areas by themselves? No. Whenever stepping into a backstage area, Guests will be escorted by a Guest Relations Cast Member. Similar to the way we currently operate our VIP Tour Services and other experiences, Express Transportation will allow Guests limited access backstage with an escort. This includes no Guest photography in backstage areas.
Is this service available for Cast Members with Main Entrance Passes and Annual Passholders? Cast Members and Annual Passholders may purchase the single-day service for $15 or the multi-day service for $24 (valid for seven consecutive days from day of sale).

I'm sorry if I missed this somewhere, but am I correct that I can't purchase this until I'm onsite and not online before my vacation? Thanks!

It does get confusing to figure out with a car. What I was thinking is to drive to the park where I'm going to end up, so the car is there. Then....take Express to the first park I want to visit and make sure I get back to the end park before the last bus. But....if I want to see the fireworks at park closing it does make it more complicated. So, the bottom line is I haven't quite figured out our plan for the car. It just seems like an extra thing we are carrying around...LOL! But I do think it would be way easier to use the Express Bus then moving the car from park to park. The other option is to just take the regular bus at the end of the night, which would be running for EMH....so that could work too. It's all about figuring out the schedule.

Still that seems to be giving up all time savings that the express bus offers. Driving somewhere you don't want to be, then entering a park, walking to the express bus (which is often towards the back of a park) and then riding to where you do actually want to be? I would recommend just using resort buses to and from the parks you are starting and ending with and only use the car if your plans mean you'll actually start and end your day at the same park. At worst it'll be the same amount of time spent riding buses and has the potential to be less.

Plus, the Express Bus doesn't start running will 10:00 so you'll be stuck in the park for a bit.

Yeah...I've been thinking that too but it all depends on the park closing times...like if AK closes at 10 p.m. and MK closes at 9 p.m. will the regular buses still be running? This is a big concern for me as well, no matter what we choose. It makes me feel safe that the car will be where we end up. Just a thought.

Regular buses run for 1 hour after park closing at any given park, so yes, if MK closed at 9:00 they'd still have regular buses departing till 10:00

ETA - It's boats that are 1 hour after park closing, not buses. They keep on running till not needed/park is empty. Usually well more than 1 hour. Not sure about park to park buses (regular, non express buses). If they aren't running, you can get there via a resort
