Yes, I spoke to him and it was Spring break, so it was uber crowds (Most schools around here and other states ad their break the week before Easter this year). He may have been confused as well. I figure it's worth it not to have to o through bag check again, plus in June it will be HOT.

Even in Spring Break there are no lines for Express Buses.

If we are planning on hopping to another park that is still open via the last bus (or second to last bus since prior posts have indicated that there is still one bus that runs after park close), does EMH at the next park count as "still open"?

Ex. Epcot has EMH from 9-11. If we plan to be at DHS or Fantasmic at 8:30pm, could we catch the 9pm bus to Epcot? Or does that not work since Epcot's official park closing is 9pm?

Reports in this thread state that the service runs 10am until regular park close. EMH do not count for the origin park or destination park. So, nope.

Same plan here. Depending on time of day and local traffic, it's about 12 minutes. And, of course, it's only about a 3 minute walk from the Express bus to the theater.
Someone posted this a ways back and I kept it:
MK - AK 25 minutes
AK - EP 22 minutes
EP - HS 13 minutes
HS - MK 17 minutes

Though this is a good guideline, the actual times in transit are not set in stone, unlike the departure times. Riding each of the routes on numerous occasions, I found the travel times can vary by about 10-15%.

I'm struggling and would love opinions. I really want to do the express transportation for our early June trip. I feel like it will be awesome especially being able to book 4th FP+ on the MDE app now and just hopping over to a different park. Sounds really easy and efficient. Where I'm struggling... my in-laws and my niece will be going with us and it's their 1st time at WDW. I'm trying to slow my plans down so they have time to take it all in. I want to hop to MK on our first day after being at AK but I am for sure NOT using the express that time. We will go back to POP for a rest then use regular bus. I want them to experience walking up Main Street for the first time. After than, I am hoping to use the express.
My question is, what is your opinion on seeing back stage? I am so excited to see them experience Disney for the 1st time but I've never seen backstage and don't know if it takes away anything for them??

They put a lot of thought in to where these buses pick up/drop off (or got darn lucky) so that you see nothing back stage other than the back side of a building or a parking lot. Maybe a CM walking to their break *but never a character.
I would never hesitate to use it for a first time visit

I would not use I think for a first time visit

Thanks! That makes me feel better

I also would not use it for a first time visit. It is backstage which is not themed and you lose the ambiance for sure.

I searched this thread so hopefully I'm not repeating this if it's been mentioned....but my parents are using it now and were told it does not operate when lightning due to liability being backstage. So, they are currently waiting for an all-clear to hopefully use it now.

We are at MK now and the express bus isn't running because of lightning in the area. Wish we had known this for planning purposes today. Has thrown our plans for a loop :guilty:

What? Do they stop all buses for lighting? What's special about Express? You have to walk to the bus, but aren't people walking around the parks? In line for the normal buses? Weird.

I am so going to use it. I could care less about the backstage thing. This will save a lot of walking and even if I only use it 2 days during our 8days. It will be worth it.

If it's bad enough I've actually had the CM at MK not allow us to walk around. So it doesn't surprise me that they don't want the CM walking guests to/from the pick up areas.
