New Express Transportation: $19/day or $29/week-SERVICE ENDING AUGUST 23RD 2017

@FastPasser. Although the last day to purchase the multi-day ticket is 8/16, is there any note that single-day use can still be purchased through 8/23?
 
I so hope it will be around during the holidays. We would so use it. Off to write another email to Disney. Thanks for all the info in this thread.
 
It's official, it will suspend operation beginning Thursday, August 24. The last day to purchase the service is Wednesday, August 16. Guests who purchase a multi-day Express Transportation ticket will be able to use this service until Wednesday, August 23.

NOOOOOOOOOO! :sad: I really wanted to try it out on our trip in September. So, so sad!!!!

On the other hand, more money saved... Who am I kidding? It will most likely be spent on something else...:rolleyes1
 
Although I really really hated the fact that it was stop for rain/lightening. I was really counting on it for saving steps.

And it's not just this service that stopped due to lightening, all CMs who have the potential of being struck by lightening are mandated to seek cover.
Too bad the rumor was true. :-(
Knowing what department the poster worked in, I felt their post had credibility.
 
Such a loss. The reasoning given "more guests preferred other means..." is just crazy. Of course they did--it wasn't a quantity vs quantity comparison. It was an option for people to pay for a method to hop parks without having to go through security again, or wait for transportation. It was a set time ride to another park. It was never going to have "more guests" than other transportation because it was never designed to do that.

Sigh. There aren't that many upcharge offerings that I'm interested in, but that was one I was definitely going to pay for.

Any chance of being able to buy day only passes? We arrive on the 17th and having just 3 days to rearrange my park plans just kinda stinks! Not the end of the world but I would have planned everything differently at the 60 FP window. Ok yes maybe I am super annoyed right now! :-)
I already sent one email earlier today simply saying how much I was looking forward to using the service. I'll send another one asking if I can either purchase it on the 16th or if they will still be selling day passes.

I'm conflicted between "liking" this post for FastPasser's efforts to keep us updated, and not "liking" it because I don't like the message that express service is suspended. So I'll simply say thanks for keeping us informed.

I do hope that "suspended" means the service may come back at peak times (hint hint: December!!). Even if imperfect, this seemed like a great value-add for most of those who used it.
