New Roadway Paved, Guard House Covered in Sheathing at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Crews have laid asphalt or concrete on the new roadway entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

New Roadway Entrance

A construction site at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort with vehicles, dirt piles, and a cloudy sky in the background.

The roadway was paved a couple of weeks ago, creating a clear view of how it will lead up to the Great Ceremonial House. This new roadway entrance is off Floridian Way. The current Seven Seas Drive entrance will become a bus entrance.

Construction site with vehicles and workers, American flag in foreground, trees and cars in the background under a clear sky.
Though it was paved a few weeks ago, the roadway is now mostly covered by sand or dirt. New lampposts were installed lining the road. Actual lights haven’t been added yet.

Construction site with various excavators and vehicles, bordered by fencing, trees, and a parked white car in front.
Fresh dirt was then laid in the median between two lanes.

Guard House

A small yellow building under construction near a hotel with a monorail passing in the background.

The guard shack’s framework is now covered by sheathing, creating actual walls and a roof. There’s a doorway facing the road and window openings all around. The roof shape approximately matches the porte-cochere of the resort, as seen in the background.

Construction on the new entrance and other Polynesian improvement projects will continue through 2026.

Looking for some feedback!
Poly Island Tower Theme Park view VS 3rd floor of Moorea
We loved the view from Moorea watched the fireworks almost every night. Is the view as good from the tower? Better?

Current status of front entrance reconfiguration construction...
These images really show how odd the placement of the security structure at the entrance is in relation to the entrance to the Porte Cochere. This design sure does use up quite a bit of parking area for the sweeping driveway.

I am just not certain I see how the entrance is going to be connected to Floridian Way.
The new main entrance and the Security structure will remain on Seven Seas Drive. The old main entrance will turn into the new dedicated Bus u-turn loop.

There will be no direct connection to Floridian Way. The new Seven Seas Connector will divert earlier near the TTC and sweep through part of the MK parking lot into a roundabout for World Drive / Floridian Way route adjustment.

Looking for other's opinions:

Theme Park View Club Level vs Water View Club Level over Christmas week

Our usual preferences:
- We usually like rooms further from elevators and high floors
- We don't expect to watch the fireworks from the room frequently, we like to go in the parks in the evenings. However, with the holidays, we expect to spend some nights at the resort.
- Being close to the club is important, but we are ok with walking like down a hall :)
- We are getting 2 rooms, hoping for adjoining doors.

What would you choose?

Since all the club level rooms are in one building, the farthest you’ll be is down the hall. We’ve stayed both and I believe our theme park view room was 2nd floor. I honestly don’t remember if we watched any fireworks there since we usually go to the club lounge. We just stayed water view and had 1st floor, which I prefer. I would tell the kids to go play in the yard and send them out to the hammocks since they were right outside our door😆

Theme Park View Club Level vs Water View Club Level over Christmas week
The Hawaii building is only 3 floors, and the second floor rooms don't have a balcony. You can also see the Fireworks from the Lounge from the 2nd floor & 3rd floor.

There are 8 TPV rooms on the 2nd floor and the other ~15 TPV rooms are on the 3rd floor. There is a close split between Water view rooms and TPV rooms. Please note that the majority of Water view rooms are on the 1st floor with a patio.

We are getting 2 rooms, hoping for adjoining doors.
Did you book both rooms on a single reservation? The term that Disney uses is "Connecting" rooms and almost all the rooms in the CL building are connecting to an adjoining room. It just might have the rest of your party.

Good point on the club lounge for firework viewing! That might be better (plus theres food :))

Thanks for sharing! I booked the rooms on separate reserverations, since I didn't think I could put 2 rooms on 1 reservation? Is that possible?

Yes you are able to book 2 rooms or even more rooms but not online. You would need to call Central reservations at 1-407-934-7639.

For separate bookings, you can call the number above, and have it noted in each reservation that you are traveling with another reservation (even if they are both in your name), and have the CM update the reservations with the reservation number of your other reservation number.

Gotcha! Thanks for the tip!

I want to recommend the tower 1 bedroom to a friend for their first visit in Oct 2026 but I am concerned about construction still going on during that time. Does anyone know if the timeline runs into next fall? I'd hate to have them spend all of this money to stay there if they are still doing construction.

Yes the current entrance construction , and dedicated bus loop construction is scheduled thorough 2026.

Dave
I really hope they don't decide to close the pools in Oct 2026. I'm not sure if we would know that by now.

Given that they gave over a year’s notice of the Stormalong Bay and BLT pool closures, I’d expect them to do the same if a Poly pool closures were planned. And they wouldn’t close all the pools at the same time.

This week I will be at VGF. It really is pretty close to poly. I was looking at polys QS options . It’s kind of hidden. For poly resort you can order in the app from CapCooks or TO GO from Kona’s. If you choose the Poly villas it shows you can mobile order for Waialulu. I’m not sure why it doesn’t just list all 3 options for both sections of the resort?

I’m always checking menus for resorts and parks before trips. Times and menus often change seasonally.

I do wish room service at poly would come back. At least GF still has it and that’s on my list for us too.

Roof Work Begins on Tuvalu Building, Construction Near Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney resort lobby with large glass doors, tropical plants, a surfboard sign near the entrance, and a construction lift outside.

The glass doors of the Great Ceremonial House near Pineapple Lanai are currently closed for construction. The quick-service location and other areas are still accessible through other doors.

Two green plastic barriers block a walkway lined with lush plants beside a building with glass windows, typical of Disney park renovations.A blue Genie lift and barriers in front of a Polynesian-style building; signs direct guests to the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Outside, green barriers block the walkway and surround a lift. There are A-frame signs in the lobby and outside pointing guests to open doors.

A worker repairs windows on a lift outside a building in a Disney park, with green barriers and themed landscaping around.
The lift suggests work is taking place around the second floor window or on the roof. Crews were not actively working in the area when we visited on Monday morning.

Tuvalu Roof Work

Workers in safety gear repair the roof of a brown building with a triangular facade, not resembling any Disney park castle, under a partly cloudy sky.
Roof work has moved to the Tuvalu building on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon. We did see a couple of crew members on the roof. They have removed paneling, revealing the steel framework below.

A tropical resort by a lake with palm trees and greenery, evoking Disney’s Polynesian Village vibe, under a partly cloudy sky.

New paneling will likely be installed in the coming days.

Refurbishment work at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is scheduled through 2026. This includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway.

Staying in the new tower in December and was wondering if they have freestyle machines? Also my sister is staying club level for one night. Is she able to bring guest over to check it out? Super excited to check out the new tower. We have a 2 bedroom Villa. Anything we should know about the new tower?
