Lisa (a/k/a DF) - I remember your hurricane experiences last summer. Hope none of us get to experience them this year! Have a safe journey east, we're looking forward to your posts.
:goodvibes Thanks! You're as sweet and gracious as ever! Did you read my post on the DOING LAUNDRY thread? Couldn't resist...LOL. :rotfl2: Enjoy the blessings of the day. {{{hugs}}}

Tiffany~How nice to read your post LIVE from the SWAN!!

What's the weather like in Florida? With all the recent threats of hurricanes on the inland gulf--I was wondering if it's the "norm" for June, or windy...rainy, etc.? TIA...and ENJOY your visit! :flower: :sunny:

Waving to Gail, DF, and everyone else!! Love those "live from the...." posts!
OK, even though I am a sorority member, I have a question? Is the Dolphin now completely renovated? I am assuming so, but our trip is coming up and I want to make sure we're in a renovated suite! Also, any help you can give Alice and I on location of our two bedroom suite would be appreciated! You will be joining us in late July, yes? *please say yes, please say yes, please say YES!*

Just say no to hurricanes!

Debbie

Yes, Yes, Debbie and I need info!! We're only 4-1/2 weeks away! YAY! :cheer2:

DF - Almost missed saying 'bye and hope to see you next month! :goodvibes

Debbie & Alice...~ So nice to see some "friends" over here! I have not had much time to post in between unpacking/packing, etc. :earboy2:

The Dolphin is completely renovated!! You will be in heaven..at least on HEAVENLY BEDS/SHOWERS and BATHS! :cloud9: I'm not sure if we'll be able to make the meet in late July ( :guilty: )...we are planning to squeeze-in a last minute visit to the gulf coast (& visit DMIL before DD heads to college). I've been following all your antics and humorous posts on the upcoming gathering. I will keep in touch and let you know if anything changes. :lovestruc To you both!!

me and the kids would love to meet anyone at the Swan or Dolphin around July 17 to 24. We will be at the Swan and would love to say hi to fellow dis members. :cool1: :grouphug:

oh GM! We're just going to miss you! We arrive the 26th at AKL and will be at the Dolphin the 29th- Aug. 3rd. I can't believe the number of near misses we seem to be having with friends from the Dis!

DF>> I hope we can manage to meet up, even if it is with an incognito pool hopping caper! I am glad to hear that everything is now renovated. I've had a renovated room at the Swan, and renovated "carpet" at the Dolphin but not renovated furniture when I was at the Dolphin. It will be nice to see how everything looks together!

We'll miss you by 3 days - we arrive on August 6.

We had a lovely renovated room on the 8th floor in the west wing of the Dolpin last summer. Our view was of the Swan and in the distance TOT.

argh!!! See? I told you! Missing people by just a few days! I'm sorry to be missing you!

I hope to use some starwood points to upgrade our suite to club level. It won't be the Swan or Dolphin to my son without him being able to visit with Thabo in the lounge.

I remember hearing that a spa would be opening at the Dolphin soon. Can anyone who's there now or has been there recently give us an update???

HM - when will you try for the upgrade to Club, at check-in or before?

I will try both, but more than likely at the time of check in is where it will happen, if it can happen! I am sharing the room, thus it might be hard to do it beforehand. We shall see. I do have enough points for four days of CL and I am hoping that includes all of us in the room/ 2 adults-3 children between the two of us.

The SPA is going to be in the old COPA CABANA CLUB near the east elevators, and pool table! It will be heavenly!

Debbie...please, email me for a few questions! Thanks. If you need my "private email" just pm me with yours, and I'll get right back to you. You know how much I LOVE YOU GIRL! If I'm there...I'm SEEIN' YOU!! ;)

Sounds wonderful, any idea when it's to open?

On a related note, there was a store in the lobby - to the right as you came in the main door - that was vacant. I was told it had been a jewelry store. Has anyone heard if it has re-opened, and as what??

Hi Tiffany! Glad to hear you're enjoying the Swan. We'll be there in August and we had a great stay at the Dolphin last summer. We can't wait to get back to that pool! Where's your room located??? We're hoping for an Epcot view.

Hi,

We booked a run of the house rate of $159 and we ended up in room 1012. It is a great room. It is close to the elevators and ice machine and the view is of the Dolphin if you are looking straight out the window and then the YC/BC and a little of the BW if you look to your right and the Dolphin lap pool area if you look to your left. You cannot see EPCOT from this room.

Tiffany-how exciting! We'll be at The Swan in less than 2 weeks~our first visit as well. Where are you located? What is your view? Do you have a balcony? Have you tried any of the restaurants yet? Also wondering about Atlantic Dance...I've heard it's open, but not all the time.

Thanks for offering to take questions and hope you are having a magical time!

Hi,

We are in room 1012. Our view is great. We look out over the Dolphin resort if we look straight out of the window, to the right is the YC/BC and park of the BW to the left is the Dolphin lap pool area. The room is close to the eleavator and ice machince. We are very happy overall with this king bed room as we got a great run of the house rate of $159. We do not have a balcony. We have grabbed quick breakfast foods from Tubbis and the set up in the Lobby Lounge and a quick late night meal at Tubbis and then great Coke Floats from the Dolphin Fountain.

We walked by Atlantic Dance last night and they had information posted outside as to when they were open. We did not look in detail as this would not be up our ally.

Tiffany~thank you for your quick response. We are so looking forward to this little weekend trip. DH and I are celebrating our anniversary which is on the 1st, the day we check-in. My folks are watching the kids for us, I'm sure we probably won't know what to do with ourselves! :rotfl: We are undecided as to where we want to have our anniversary dinner, there are just so many choices at the resort and the Boardwalk in general. It will be fun deciding though. :goodvibes Any suggestions?

Thank you again for sharing your visit with us! :flower:

A great location at the Dolphin for a beautiful view of Epcot and Illuminations is the east wing, 8th floor. We had a balcony room and our evening's were magical, with such a great view.

"Run of the house" (rate of $159)
:rotfl: :rotfl2: Tiffany, This is the CUTEST TERM for a RATE I've ever heard!!! I want the RUN OF THE HOUSE too!!! :Pinkbounc

paras4ri~Gail...I thought that was going to be the BOOKSTORE!! I hope so...as I would LOVE a bookstore (w/Starbucks) right in the lobby!! :goodvibes

Mouseteacher~I know that wing well...and LOVE the view from the balcony. MAGICAL...is the only way to describe standing under the stars, watching the fireworks bursting/sparkling over Epcot & the lake. :wizard:
Good to see you! :wave2:

Hi, Deweysgirl! My vote for dinner goes to the BLUEZOO. When we ate there last year with Mouseteacher and DH's it was so delicious!

Anybody else agree?

Palio and their fantastic veal!

*throwing sunscreen into DF's luggage and telling her she's supposed to be packing and relaxing for her trip tomorrow!*

I know this thread isn't supposed to be chatty, but I wonder if run of the house means run amuck in the house? AKA what Disbug was doing last July while running up and down the halls at the Dolphin early in the morning in her bunny slippers, waking up other sorority members? (bunny slippers were added for drama and comedy!)
