Hi again Caroline!

I believe the envelopes are available upon check in. I am always skeptical about the "upgrade for the length of your stay" envelope...cuz what it you have a pretty awesome room reserved...and/or the hotel is booked? Also, if I get a dinner for two at Gulliver's, it won't help me on this trip as it is a romantic trip for just DH and I and our ADRs are already made and would NOT include a character dinner! LOL!:guilty:

Thanks for the Friday afternoon tip!:thumbsup2 I did not know that. I will check periodically for our upcoming trip in Sept. If I can save $40 over the 4 nights, why not? That would be like getting free parking!:goodvibes

Are there private "cabana type" lounge chairs for rent at The Dolphin on the beach or near the pool (like there are at the GF?) if so...how much does it cost to rent them?

For those of you that have stayed in a suite at the Dolphin or Swan, do you pay cash or utilize points?

What rate if you pay cash? I know it will vary depending on season but how much more than the regular going rate do you pay?

What's a MAW envelope??

I have been following along with this thread as we're staying at the Swan in about 3 wks, but must have missed this.:confused3

Thanks,

Lives4Disney :)

I don't believe the S/D has them, unless it's a new addition since I was last there.

How much are the refillable mugs?
Are they the generic "Year of a Million Dreams" mugs?

I think the price is $10.95 or there abouts. It's a tumbler like design, similar to a Starbuck's refillable. The mug has photos of shots taken around the S/D resort. I wish I could remember more, mine was stolen at work several years ago. I had a Wilderness Lodge refillable mug stolen at work too. Pitiful.

I've always paid cash. The rates vary on what time of year you're going and what kind of suite you want to reserve. Best to call the resort directly to inquire. :)

Thanks Blondie! I did not see them mentioned on the website, and when I looked at pictures, there were none to be seen. Too bad...it is a perfect spot for them! Maybe I will put that in the suggestion box!:thumbsup2

We have used points for suites several times. Two years ago, I was able to reserve a discounted regular room and use 10,000 points per night to upgrade to a 1 BR suite, and then add the second bedroom also for the discounted rate, essentially allowing me to book the large parlor for 10,000 points per night. It was an awesome deal, as I got a 2 BR Executive Suite for something like $350 plus 10,000 points per night.

I tried to do this again for our upcoming stay after Christmas this year, and they would not allow it, saying that the suite upgrade award was only available within something like 7-10 days of arrival. Luckily, I had been saving for a year and a half, so I had enough points for a 1BR suite for 6 nights, for which they charged 100,000 points. They will let me add on a second bedroom for the going rate if I so desire.

Thanks for the info about using the points. We have enough points for a free week, and I was wondering about upgrading to a suite instead of a standard room. pirate:

Here's a picture of the mugs you can purchase at Pikabu. Having Starbucks coffee is a real treat given it's hard to get good coffee at Disney World. We bought ours a few years ago and the price that Blondie quoted sounds about right.

We're heading on down to the Swan tomorrow, anyone want me to check on anything for them? :cool1:

Well, I once read that kids can show their report cards with "all A's" or "good grades" & they can get a free ice cream or something...I'm not sure what.

If you find out if they're still doing this, could you let us know?
We'll be at the Dolphin in July for 3 nights.
DD always gets straight A's & this might be a good incentive for DS9 to try too!!

Thanks!!

Hey Blondie! How long will you be there for? I will be at the Dolphin on Thursday...come look for me by the pool in either a green or a black and white bikin...I have brownish blond hair past my shoulders, and DH has dark hair and a goatee!

If you can, please post on how the smoke is. My cousin lives in Orlando and says that the smoke from GA is affecting the area.

Thanks Dan! I wish we were going to meet up this go round, but I understand your need to stay home at this time. Give Doc a big hug from me. Tell him Shiloh is waiting for him on the other side. :( :sad1:

I'll try to remember to ask about it!

I'm not bringing a laptop so I'll be out of touch until we return. I just watched the weather from WFTV.com and they mentioned the smoke coming all the way down from Georgia! Yikes, I hope it's not too bad!

Don't know if I'll make it to the pool, but if I do, I'll try to remember your description and introduce myself. Maybe I'll just yell out "is wildernesslodgelover in the house?" LOL!

Hi Gang

I've never noticed this before. Does anyone know what this is? It looks like these rooms are pushed out on part of that floor. Are these special rooms?

Just curious,
