I know that BLT and THV's just came out. But, I was wondering if anyone had opinions on whether or not Disney will add more DVC's in the future? Will they be added to an existing resort? And how soon after 2009, do you think that this will happen?

Just for fun....:thumbsup2

Of course! As long as Disney can continue to make money selling DVC, they will keep building new DVC resorts!

i agree w/ DVC Mike! We alreay know that VGC and Hawaii are in the pipeline....anyone hear anything else?

DH received a survey from DVC that suggested they are considering Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Cabo San Lucas. Hawaii was also mentioned, tho we knew about that one already, and I think some island. :confused3

DH did the survey, responding that we would be interested in all but Vegas. We would love to go to Vegas, but it doesn't seem the right environment for Disney. Now a Disney ski resort...:thumbsup2

I firmly believe we'll see a DVC section at the Polynesian someday.

Info was leaked to me at WDW this week:

(so the SS folks have someone to haze finally)

Oh I disagree in many, many ways! I have two little kids and havent been to Vegas w/ them because I dont want them to be hanging around those porn fliers (I know they've cleaned this up a bit) and smokey casinos. my husband and I absolutely miss going to Vegas so imagine this:

Disney creates a "Disney" environment resort a bit off the strip and makes it geared towards those of us who have kids but stay away because of the "normal" Vegas environment. They set it up like DCL: lots and lots of stuff for kids to do in their various aged camps so the parents can hang out by the pool, go shopping on the strip, go catch a Cirque show, go gamble, etc etc. The kids get a great Disney themed trip in Vegas and the parents get to do adult play in Vegas!

I know I would utilize something like this and probably even add on there!!

It is much more $$ to build at WDW for DVC, they get families there that will spend $$$ at parks/food etc.. and they already own the land so I believe the next ones will continue to be at WDW..

Best guess for the next one would be Grand Floridian.

However, if they could find room near Epcot or DHS that would be my vote.

hmmm, we just got back from our first stay at BWV and loved it! I was looking around thinking the same thing....

Maybe convert the yacht Club to dvc?

I think that Disney will run out of potential buyers at WDW sooner rather than later. I predict that they will sell out of BLT and build one or two more DVC resorts on property. {I'm thinking 2 boutique style at POLY & GF.)

Even though DVC is great for the company, they will have to have the buyers to continue.

You can see that they are already trying to transition away from building strictly on property.

IMHO, Disney could do very well in reaching out to folks that do Disney every couple of years and somewhere else on the other years. They could build in spots like Gatlinburg or Williamsburg and realliy spin the Disney vacations in with it. (I'd love to see the Frontierland atmosphere that they could incorporate into the Smokies.)

I could see GF and Poly Villas in the future, but I think it will be a few years with all the other sales starting now.

It would be nice if DVC would slow down on the building. Let the world catch up.
The one thing I really don't want to see happen is DVC is for the company to start building & marketing lower cost units. (Picturing them converting the unfinished POP resort into low-cost DVC rooms.) My first thought upon hearing that they decided to make the treehouses into DVC was "Why are they converting the unwanted buildings over to DVC? Is it just something to do with them?" ... It took me about 30 minutes to see the light (I'm an avid Ft Wilderness/cabins fan here) and now am dying to try a unit for 5 nights with my family.
