New DVC's in the future?

Disney creates a "Disney" environment resort a bit off the strip and makes it geared towards those of us who have kids but stay away because of the "normal" Vegas environment. They set it up like DCL: lots and lots of stuff for kids to do in their various aged camps so the parents can hang out by the pool, go shopping on the strip, go catch a Cirque show, go gamble, etc etc. The kids get a great Disney themed trip in Vegas and the parents get to do adult play in Vegas!

I know I would utilize something like this and probably even add on there!!
And this is exactly why I don't support Disney setting up outside their theme parks. I tend to bite my tongue in regards to the 'Adventures by Disney' concept, but to me it represents how they have managed to impose their beliefs and their American culture onto other areas and diluted the local experience. I cannot say how I really feel without alienating most readers here; suffice to say that I will never recommend or even support the current ABD model.

I would far rather experience the reality of the world than some fantasy based on a Disney designer's concept. It works in the Disney parks, but only if they manage to find a way to work outside the theme park environment while embracing local culture and tradition will I support such a move.

I DON'T want Disney everywhere in the world. I want the reality, with the ability to escape to the fantasy if required.

I think that Disney will run out of potential buyers at WDW sooner rather than later. I predict that they will sell out of BLT and build one or two more DVC resorts on property. {I'm thinking 2 boutique style at POLY & GF.)

Even though DVC is great for the company, they will have to have the buyers to continue.

You can see that they are already trying to transition away from building strictly on property.

IMHO, Disney could do very well in reaching out to folks that do Disney every couple of years and somewhere else on the other years. They could build in spots like Gatlinburg or Williamsburg and realliy spin the Disney vacations in with it. (I'd love to see the Frontierland atmosphere that they could incorporate into the Smokies.)

DW and I would be at the front of the line to buy that!:thumbsup2

I would love, love, love this! :thumbsup2 I completely agree with another poster who said about putting a Fronteirland at Gatlinburg, and maybe Liberty Square in Williamsburg. If they expanded this much, I would have to buy MANY points so I could do it all.

I was glad to hear they are building one at Disneyland - too bad it is only 50 units. I would love to see them build one at a ski resort also!:santa:

I like the idea of Disney setting up outside their theme parks for two reasons: 1) nobody does customer service as well as Disney, and 2) As much as we like the Disney theme parks, we like to experience other places and would like to be able to have the flexibility of our membership to use for lodging at other places. Besides, we stayed at Vero Beach (a property outside the theme park) and thought is was a wonderful, realistic, "local" experience.

ARE YOU READING THE DIS MR. LEWIS???

My DSis, DBIL, & kids have been going to Gatlinburg for years, and have finally discovered Disney. I know a Gatlinburg DVC that would GUARANTEE a Disney trip every few years would be a real hit for them. (I imagine that would mean 80 pts. in Gatlinburg and 80 pts. at WDW.)

I could see the Davey Crockett / Country Bears / Splash Mtn. themes fitting right in!

i know this would prob never happen but a winter wonderland would be nice in Canada.

Ski slopes, tubing, cross country skiing, indoor water parks, roaring fires :). Could easily be switched to summer rides down the mountian.

I'll suggest Ontario :)

I am guessing that with a new park will come new hotels and themes. IF, more like when, disney builds another new theme park, maybe one to compete with discovery cove, there will be many other oppurtunities to build. Maybe a prehistoric dinosaur hotel, winter theme similar to blizzard beach, camelot type theme, or another disney movie themed resort that is not a value resort.
