New DVC Ticket Option?

I would vote none of the above. I would much prefer being able to buy 10 day park hopper tickets with no extra charges for no expiration.

I agree not sure how many days we will do in WDW each year. This year it is going to be 5, but that is two trips. We also like to switch up with DLR and have the last 4 years so then again the WDW ticket wouldn't help. I would hate to be locked into something that expired.

Agree with PP that no ticket option works for everyone and it is at least good that Disney may be looking at different choices.

Well what disney did was smart they made our discounted Annual pass the same price as a 10 day hopper with no water park. I became a DVC member last week on my trip and bought a 7 day hopper. After we became mambers i turned that into an annual pass for minimal upgrade cost and will probably be there at least 2 more times before it expires

I have no problem as long as they don't mess with the AP/PAP DVC discount.

That could be perfect for us since we don't usually go enough to buy our whole family APs

The price would have to beat undercover tourist's mousesavers discount though!

Correct, I'm with you.
We purchase 10 day non expiring tickets each time we need to replenish our tickets and always through UT. This option would need to be better than their prices.

I guess whether any of this happens and whether it is really good will depend on whether it is the usual "evil" DVD, headed by Jim Lewis, who is making the decisions, or someone who actually wants to create a valuable benefit for DVC members (I doubt that person exists in the management of DVD).

They did have a program before where you could buy a "discounted" pass that provided 5 hopper days per year for four years and which expired in 5 years -- you got 5 entries per year, if you used one in any given calendar year you had to use all 5 that year (there was no carry over of unused days and you could never get more than 5 entries in any one calendar year); the entire pass expired after five years. You had to pay the total cost up front. That existed when Disney had 5 day hopper passes that never expired but did not have a hopper pass that expired. At first glance it looked OK but then people figured out that the actual cost was really not a discount at all and having only a five day option was stupid, i.e., what was everyone to do who wanted 4 or 6 days a year or, for just one of those multiple years, wanted more or less than 5?

It looks like the survey indicates that DVD is considering resurrecting something that is the same and will likely be touted as having a discount that really doesn't exist (Jim Lewis at his best).

I'm inclined to agree with you.
