So has anyone hear any rumors of what the new perks will be. I for one are upset that they would announce that new ones are coming soon instead of just announcing them. I would have rather them just say nothing then leaving you hanging like this. Epically regarding annual passes

All perks are contracted and negotiated each year, they aren't automatic.

In addition there are several departments involved and Disney legal.

Well I hope the AP price stays the same. We are planning to go in May and buy them then.

I don't know - if they really are doing a new AP discount for 2014 then I'm glad for the heads up. Maybe they're hoping to avoid people getting angry over buying tickets now then finding out about a new discount in a few weeks. All speculation of course - but I have been waiting to purchase my passes for my upcoming trip just in case... Fingers crossed ;)

I agree, I wish they would not say something MIGHT be coming with no details. It could turn out to be a bust like last year's free D23 membership. Don't setup expectations if it's not definite.

I'm waiting too. And I for one am glad for the heads up so I didn't re-new sooner. :thumbsup2

I'd like the PAP offer from last year or maybe a discount on the dining plan. Just because I have an kitchen in the room doesn't mean I want to cook on vacation! :) I like the no hassle of the dining plan. We had TIW card last year and I think we broke even...no savings for us.

I'll settle for extra FP+ for DVC members.

It sucks bc it's a "Perk" that wouldn't cost the company a cent get would have most people clamoring over.

The DVC rumor mill is notoriously unreliable...

There may not be any material cost but anytime a company gives preferential treatment to one group over another, there is some "cost" to be considered. Extra FastPasses for DVC owners means fewer for every other guest entering the parks.

Keep Expectations Low, Be Pleasantly Surprised
Quoted for truth.

This isn't how things work at Disney. The theme parks and DVC are on different budgets. If the theme parks give something to DVC, DVC has to "pay" them---not in real money, but in a transfer from the DVC budget to the theme park budget.

A good example of this is the Anna & Elsa meet-n-greet in Epcot. The cost of running that meet-n-greet is not being paid by Epcot operations, but a unit called "Disney Synergy". They were originally only going to pay for it through January 4th---because by that time the movie would have run its course. But, due to a combination of character popularity and the movie doing much better than expected, Synergy will continue to pick up the tab through January. After that, the rumor is that some other unit (presumably Consumer Products; the merch is selling well too!) will pick up the costs to move them to a more permanent home.

Something similar happens with those "free" fastpasses that they sometimes give for taking a DVC tour. DVC has to "pay" the theme parks for each one of those, so from DVC's perspective, they cost real money.

I would like to see something like FL residents have -- the ability to pay for annual passes on a monthly basis.

Yes! I'd buy them yearly if given the same deal.

Id love the PAP for $399. As we're from the UK we can't visit more than once a year but we usually stay for three weeks so this usually worked out good for us last time it was offered .

When do they typically release perks?we have a trip at end of January
Im waiting to buy passes in hopes of a discounted AP
