New Doorway to Dreams mailing(Woodfield)

I received my confirmation today in the mail. It had the right date Aug 1 but the wrong time. It has 2:00, I know I signed up for 1:00. I'll have to call MS in the morning to see what they have.

If it says to enter by the Improv, that's the closest "mall entrance" to the store (rather than going in through Nordstrom, or Lord and Taylor). I never go in that way, but we did today, and my first comment to DH was "Oh, there's an improv over here? Never noticed it in the mall". :)

We received our confirmation as well. Just a word of caution, it had the correct date, but the wrong time. We were scheduled for 8 p.m., the postcard said 10 a.m. I called the original reservation number, the lady asked what time I thought I had booked, I responded with what time I knew I had booked and it turned out that it was an error in the printing of the confirmation. The CM went on to say that I was the 3rd call she received about the wrong time today and she didn't now if/what they were going to do about it.

Yeah, that's weird.

I hope this turns out to be more than a hard sell of DVC. I don't know what to expect, but I do know when we were on the Member Cruise last year, it seemed as if that their intent was to cram DVC and adding points onto us. If that's the case, it's going to be an early night for my family.

Cindy,

We received our confirmation yesterday and the date and time is wrong. We are scheduled at the 8pm on Wednesday also, and the card said the 2nd at 6pm? They dont even have a tour at this point do they?! I have to call and see what the problem is and get this straightened out! Maybe we will see you guys there!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing these screw ups . . . but it doesn't make me feel any better.

I just got my confirmation postcard as well. They have the date correct (August 3rd -- although they have it printed as "August 3th"), but they have me down for 6:00 p.m. instead of the Noon time that I confirmed with them over the phone.

Because of the drive for me to get in, I would not be able to be at the 6:00 p.m. time. As a matter of fact, when I called in, I asked for 10:00 a.m. and was told that was already filled, so I settled for the Noon slot.

I'm on hold with Member Services right now waiting for someone to answer and see what's going on. Good luck to the rest of you that have the wrong dates and/or times as well . . .

Just a little follow up . . .

When I finally was connected to member services, I was told that "nobody from Disney's Doorway to Dreams is in the office today" and that I would have to call back on Monday morning.

At the same time, the person told me that many people were calling in because it appears that a vast majority of cards went out printed wrong.

I told her that "If this is Disney, this is terribly unprofessional." Her response was, "Well, this isn't really Disney. It is a third party mailing company that was responsible." I told her that anything that had Disney's name on it and sanction with it was, indeed, Disney. Ultimately, she agreed, but still could not help me because "no one is in."

So, I assume there will be a l-o-n-g phone queue line on Monday morning trying to fix the dates and times that have been sent to all of us! :(

I have not received any type of confirmation postcard. Guess I'd better go check the mailbox. We're driving from Michigan, so I'd hate to mess this one up.

ETA: Just got ours today. The time and date was correct.

I received two confirmation postcards in the mail yesterday....not sure why I received two...BOTH had the wrong date and time! Doesn't exactly give you a warm and fuzzy feeling!

Well, we didn't get our confirmation in today's mail either (then again, reading about all the messed up times and dates, maybe I don't WANT to get a card!). I'm not going to sweat this, if we don't get the card, we're still going at 8:00 on Wednesday. Our guide is going to be here, and we're meeting with him regarding our add on, so if there's any issues, I'll just tell them to get him, and we'll straighten this up! And if they still don't let us in, well then, you all will know who the "crazy lady" was that was escorted out of the mall!:rotfl2:

Well, now don't I feel foolish!!! After reading WDWLVR's response about getting the same cards DH and I received, I decided to take another look at them. That's when I discovered, MY card was actually the confirmation card, and like so many of you, it has the correct date, but the wrong time. Since the front of the card was the same, I guess I just read DH's card, and didn't even pay attention to the one addressed to ME! (I DID think it was odd that they actually sent ME something, everything from DVC always comes addressed to DH, even tho' I'm pretty sure my name was first on the contracts). So, I'll be on the phone to MS Monday after work (I'm sure by then, they'll be tired of fielding all these calls - so please go easy on them??? Thanks)

Well count me in as one that will be calling on Monday morning. We got a postcard today but from the wording on it they don't even have our reservation. It talks about the grand opening event and then says some spots may still be available at 10 am on August 2nd and 3rd. :confused3

Ours came today too, and you've got it. . .our date and time are wrong!!

We are supposed to be Aug 2nd at 2:00 and the postcard said Aug. 1st at 1:00!

Wow! They may have a mess on their hands.

Tina, it sounds like we will see you there (at least hopefully)! :cheer2: Would you like me to bring you the circle journals? Or drop them in the mail to you on Monday. Either works for me, just let me know which is more convenient for you.

Very well said....I could not agree more. :sad2:

Just got off the phone with Disney and they have confirmed that we are on the list for the 1st. They know that the vast majority of the postcards went out wrong. The girl I spoke to said they would be calling or e-mailing people later today to confirm their actual time.

The phone number goes down to MS in FL not up here in IL. They have some bad info because the girl just told me to go to the store and that it was located next to Lord and Taylor.

Good thing we have the DIS to keep things straight. I bet there are a lot of confused people out there now.

All I can say is that I am glad that I am not a member services' rep scheduled to answer the "Doorway To Dreams" phone today! :)

An email was distributed to all member services people this morning about the significant screw up of the third party company that was contracted to send the notifications.

Speaking with a member of the Doorway To Dreams office, I was told that the "vast majority" of confirmation cards sent out were wrong. I was also told that the dates/times that we have all reserved are still in the computer in their proper, original order and that we will be fine when we show for our scheduled appointments. I was told to ignore the cards that were sent.

The rep also told me that we would not be received anything else in the mail or email or by phone but simply to show up when we had first reserved.

I'm glad the third party company didn't mess up the computerized reservation times. THAT would have been a huge mess.

So, I'm still on for this coming Friday at 12:00 Noon. Maybe I'll see some of you there! I'm bringing some guests with me hoping to hook them into our little secret!

When I got my incorrect postcard a few days ago, I immediately called...my reservation WAS wrong in their system. But maybe I was just a fluke...they did tell me the same thing...just show up at your originally scheduled time

I just had a call from DVC confirming the time I booked. He told me to ignore any mailing I get and that I will receive an email with the correct info. It was stated in a nice way though...."we're excited...does this time still work for you, etc." If I hadn't read the DIS I wouldn't have given it two thoughts.

Caller id said "Disney Cruise Lines.":rotfl:

What a headache this must be for them.:headache:

So Woodfield experts, is the consensus to enter through Nordstrom's or by the Improv? Thanks.

When I called this afternoon to check on our incorrect time, the person I spoke with said they plan on sending out new postcards with the correct time (and we both tried to figure out how they were going to get the new cards to those of us with Wednesday appointments). Then a few minutes ago I received a call from MS confirming my appointment. They mentioned it's been a big mess! Guess the company that handled this mailing won't be seeing any more Disney business!!!:)

The person I spoke with said to enter by the Improv, because they have approximately 200 people coming in at a time, so they're "staging" everyone by the Improv, then escorting them down to the store, rather than trying to coordinate 200 people at the front of the store. :)

This is great...

I just had a voice mail confirming the WRONG time! Mind you, I corrected it several days ago...how pathetic!!!

Wish I knew who it was that messed up and also wished I had the name of the person in charge at Disney. I work for a Chicago area mailer that would love this kind of business. :)

Had a phone call waiting for me when I got home confirming the correct day and time for 2 adults and 2 children. Only problem is we don't have children.:confused3 I asked our friends from Ohio if I could borrow theirs for the evening.

Our phone call confirmed the same time and date as the postcard. . .WRONG on both accounts and wrong in the computer system. The lady said she would be calling back later with a corrected reservation OR send an email. We shall see.
