ACK!!!!! I can't even think of anything else other than that to say. I am sooooo glad you were on the ball and at least made an issue of it immediately. My prayers for BabyKirk - I'm sure everything will be a.o.k., you just will have to go thru the awful loops of finding out in b&w by someone with no ulterior motive to have a report state something other than the truth.

RobMax - SOOOOO sorry about your trip. It would devastate me to cancel a trip that close. I have diligently started ebay'ing this week so I can hopefully have my trip at least half paid for by the time I go next summer. So far lots of glances at my auctions but no bids but they just went up last night. (Does that qualify as keeping this thread on topic?)

Mompoppins I've re-read your saga many times today ....all I can say is that I'm totally appalled.....you are definately following the correct course of action....I'm not so sure I would be thinking so clearly.....Prayers for you and little Kirk

Update ~ I was advised by our attorney to take Baby Kirk to the ER to have bloodwork done. I sat there for 3 hours only to be told NO. They don't want to get involved and she should be the one to be tested. Uhhhhhh..... The doctor on duty told me to contact the Texas Department of Health and to get an attorney. I did not tell him I already had one and been adviced from my attorney. It did not matter even without telling them I had an attorney they still would not get involved. The lady that issued the shot was NOT a nurse, I did not know this until later. They call her a tech. She is an older lady whom is only called in when someone cannot show up for duty. She came into the room with 4 shots and 1 saturated cotton ball and one dry. When she pricked herself (she immediately gave the shot to baby) wiped her blood with the saturated ball and then wiped all the other areas with the same ball. I must have been in pure shock... I just took me a bit to really understand what went on.... I stood there thinking ok I see blood on her thats not good..... but before I could think it through it happened.... As of yesterday afternoon the hospital wanted to use their lab in the hospital. I still said no.....I was not comfortable with that. I don't want to be ugly to them.. but I told them we can either do it our way or we can do this this the hard way in court. It does not matter now... My attorney will have to handle it from here... I gave them a chance to cooperate and I feel like they choose not to. I will not know anything now for along time I guess. I will sit tight and see what happens.. Mom Poppins~I have been lurking for a while but I just had to reply to your situation. I am horrified to read what has been happening!
These people should be bending over backwards trying to resolve what happened to the baby rather than giving you a hard time.
You mentioned that you don't want to be ugly. I think I would be a raving lunatic by now!! Keep pushing for further testing and know that our thoughts are with you!

Mom Poppins~ the stress and fight is just as horrific as the incident! I hope the hospital responds to you quickly rather than drag this out in court which, as you said, will take a long time. A baby's health is at stake here and the hospital should correct that ASAP!!!! How stubborn and stupid are they! May God's blessings shine down on all of you.

to upgrade to Club Level for our stay at the Dolphin starting this Sunday (YES!!!!!!!!). They did charge me 1,500 points a night,

I called the Dolphin to see if I could get one of the renovated rooms and still use the Club Level privs. The very curt response was "No, that is not possible." Really wanted to see a renovated room but wanted Club Level too. Are the Club Level rooms really in bad shape? And, is there a Club Level room or area that you would recommend? Sorry for all the questions but we are newbies with the Dolphin!

Update ~ Baby Kirk has appointment in the morning with a new doctor. I told them my situation and they agreed to see me and baby Jr. I spoke with my attorney this morning and he said to cut off talking to the hospital at this point. So I will keep praying and find out something on his bloodwork soon. Thanks for all your support.

Kapps ~ I don't think the non-renovated rooms are bad at all. I am excited to see the new decor, but I like the old decor just fine.

Thank you TinkOhio! I managed to get through the biopsy ok. Now I am waiting for the results. I have 1 or 2 more days to wait and then i will know. I can't begin to discribe the h*ll I am going through with this waiting.

Congrats!~On your upgrade status. Now, I was under the impression the CL rooms are ALREADY renovated at the Dolphin! They are usually the FIRST to be redone at any resort, and were at the SWAN. I'm sure the operator you spoke with was mistaken. Call back and request to speak with "JAMES", the resort ROOMS manager. He will confirm whether or not the CL rooms are fully renovated, and can also assist you obtain cl "PRIVS" in another room (IF CL rooms are not renovated). Trust me...it can be done. PUSH the envelope a bit, especially since you are PAYING for CL! (LOTS of PTS). I would even ask for a balcony room, overlooking EPCOT on the FAR EAST WING, (upper floor...onubstructed), WITH full CL PRIVS!
James is the person to speak with, and can make it all happen for you. Please, keep me apprised. Thanks.

Dreamflight - Any thoughts on this one? I needed to change my ressies (move it a day or so later) - SD told me to do it directly with the reservation line for whatever change I needed- reservation line gal told me she was too scared to change it cause she didn't know what rate code SD used - I'll probably email SD back once I know if I have a Universal Ressie with an Entertainment Rate (they keep moving the date out on me) but do you know of anyone on the phone lines that I could trust to change it for me - or even get to?

I have spent most of my 'day off' on the phone with Dell. After backing up much of my docs, etc., I had to re-install everything. Dell talked me through the whole process. Funny thing was they wanted $250 to tell me how to back up my email folders! Yea, right. Still not done. What a horrible time for all of this to happen, with my certification ongoing and me needing my computer. But, as we have all seen, things could be worse. It is only a 'thing', after all. Just very inconvenient. I make back ups of my board stuff as I go(thank goodness)!

Deb...have a wonderful trip and learn lots of good stuff for school too! Anxious to hear your thoughts on AKL.

Kapp....take DF's advice and ask for James. You will be amazed at what can happen by getting the right person on the phone! Let us know.

I will - my tired little brain was thinking James was only for the Dolphin as that is where DF is usually- think he can help with Swan too - does he do both? Loews keeps telling me I can book the rate at the regular price now and they will adjust it when the rates come out for Ent Book, but they can't give me a date. So consequently, I have to pay for one nite of full-price room right now and if I am busy and don't call every day I could lose out on the Ent Book rates when they do release them!!! We are scheduled to check into the swan on the 18th I believe and check out on the ?30th. I must have been looking at the wrong year calendar when I did it! I just want to change my arrival to Tuesday so DD & I can do Sat (?), Sun & Monday nites at Royal Pacific and spend some time at Universal. AAA has a 5 day bonus pass right now - pay for 2 and receive 5 consecutive days. If we even flew in late Friday nite and added that nite at RP we could have 3 1/2 or 4 park days there (I don't think we will have enough to fill that much time - I think two days is plenty from experience on our last trip). All this is dependent on that Entertainment Rate though!!!! So consequently I just need to move the Swan out a day or so later for arrival and one more day at the end.......that should not be too much for anyone to handle!!!

Can you tell I'm tired? I babble on and on and on.......

Have any of you flown into Sanford airport instead???? What is your opinion on driving time difference? I have heard a total drive time between 40 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. That's a big variance - have any of you guys actually done it? I can fly from Rockford IL to Sanford for about $160/pp (they only go out thru end of June so far - I'll have to wait a few weeks for July to come up - but rates are very consistent). The airline is TransMeredian. www.iflytma.com . Also, I believe parking is free at Rockford so that would save me about 8 or 10 a day at Mpls. I did try Park and Fly but most quoted a max of 7 nites.

short of JAMES~I would immediately email SPG.com customer service. When I was at the Dolphin, and needed to "extend" my Key West sojourn by an extra day, I emailed SPG.com. They did it all for me, and emailed my confirmation. They are astoundingly quick and astute. Be sure to go to your page and "sign-in", then all your info (SPG#), etc. will be on the contact form. If they are unable to assist you, give JAMES a try. I know he should have no problem working the Swan (as he does the Dolphin). Just, don't fret...it'll get done, one way or the other.

Hope everyone has enjoyed a wonderful VETERAN'S DAY. The Holiday Season is NOW in full swing. I made ressies for DL, Lake Arrowhead, And SF. Now, for the Butterball, the Honeybaked Christmas Ham Dinner order, Godiva, Harry & David, Frango chocs, etc., AND maybe even our Christmas tree (online)! (LOL). Seriously...I'll let you all know. I'm excited about DL, as the SNOW is reportedly falling on Main street, and the place is all decorated to the teeth! I LOVE the HOLIDAYS!

Just called and James was not in yet. The Dolphin Club Level has not been renovated yet. The person I spoke with said that you can't get Club Level unless you are on the Club Level. When I mentioned I had used my SPG points, she said that due to being a Starwood member they may allow us to do that. Any ideas on what to do know?

I had a very enjoyable Veteran's Day (14th Anniversary) yesterday...due to Connor's condition we felt that we should take the entire family out for our Anniversary Dinner this year...So, we had a great dinner at the Outback Restaurant

DH had the day off from work yesterday and did continued work on our remodeling....the entryway is almost done....can't wait to show pictures maybe next weekend....

DF I keep having dreams that I get to spend many weeks in Florida for a Soujourn.....LOL....don't think it will be anything other then a dream....keep the details coming for those of us that are living vicariously through your family...

DD friends mother is still trying to figure out how to get her to join us....If I had the money I would offer to pay the money in an instant...but alas I'm not that fortunate.....though I know things are probably better for us then a American Minister living in Canada being paid in Canadian funds ....that has 6 kids...to high schoolers that live and go to the school in the US....and one is a prima Ballerina....not much left over....any how I'm still holding good thoughts...
