Quick question. Does the Club level staff also make PS and other arrangments as the Disney resorts?

The Swan (and I believe the Dolphin) have Concierge Desks near the Front Check-In Desk. I have seen people make arrangements there for reservations. I have not seen it done on the Club Level. We will have to ask the experts if Mama T and Thabo do this sort of thing in the Club Lounge.

for the kind words. I will admit I am very scared this morning. Hopefully a sterotactic core needle biopsy is not as painful as it sounds. It is going to be a long morning for me and a long week waiting for answers.

I am way off topic today! I can't seem to think of anything else but what I am facing! I certainly didn't sleep well last night but it was comforting to come here this morning and read your kind comments. Thank you.

Well -- I finally did it and canceled my Dolphin ressy for Dec. :(

Just can't justify the expense at this point with all the craziness this past year. :earseek:

Wish me luck for May!

I've been more of a reader than a poster on this thread, but I am touched by your situation. No wonder you find it hard to think about "on topic" stuff!! I'm joining the others and praying for you that everything turns out great. Try to have faith that you can deal with whatever the results are. Waiting for results of a health exam is tedious, but know that many of us here will be thinking about you and sending prayers your way ::yes:: .

:wave2:

Muffy ~ I hope you are doing well today... Please let us know how you are doing.

On my homefront, Sometimes you want to say "Why do these things happen to me " but I wanted to share something with you today. I took Baby Kirk for his immunizations on Friday. The nurse/tech came in to give the shots. She shot herself in the thumb first and blood starting coming out of her thumb, before I could think a thought or say a word.... She put the same needle into Jr...... I was in shock....upset... I picked Jr. up and went to the doctors office and told her what had happened and she said "Oh Robin I am sorry" she confronted the nurse who said yes it had happened. I wanted to know about her own blood and if she was "clean" the doctor told me yes. I decided that was not good enough I wanted blood work done. I called the hosptial whom oversees this office. They informed me the nurse/tech was fired and they could guarantee me her blood is fine. I said that is not good enough I want bloodwork from an independent lab. So far they have refused. I cannot belive it... I am going to have to get an attorney to get this ladies bloodwork. Please pray for us as we go throug this tedious process. Any thoughts here.. I have to say I have never heard of this happening before... sorry no topic today... to upset

Mom Poppins,

Just when you think you've seen or heard it all- I am so horrified for you and family. And while we're all praying, get an attorney (not just to get the blood work- the shock and horror are definitely pain and suffering).

I can't say anymore either (and I know if I'm upset, I can't fathom your feelings) except to ask God's blessing and protection over your sweet baby.

I'm speechless! I'm sure everything will turn out okay but I don't blame you for pursuing this as far as possible.

I just can't even think of a story even remotely as bizarre as that.

:(

 UNBELIEVABLE! She probably thought nothing of it.. What else does she do? Lick the tongue depressor before checking someone's throat?

The reason this seems so bizarre to me, is I don't like being stuck and sure as heck wouldn't prick myself to find out if the needle is sharp enough! Baby Kirk is too young for her to think, "Hey, Look Little Fella! This doesn't hurt at all!" I can't fathom this and will stop now. I have had too many incidents with hospitals, nurses and DD2.

Mompoppins, nothing will make you feel better so I won't try. Just know that you've come too far with that little guy for something bad to happen to him now. My belief is on the good side.. guardian angels watching out for you and yours.

mom poppins i am so sorry for you, this is a terrible thing to happen, like others have said, i have never heard anything like this before, its sad that you have to go through all this without the doctors co-operation, they should be helping you all they can, god bless both you and baby, susie

Hang in there Muffy!!!

Mom Poppins - that is crazy! That is totally unacceptable. Have you tried to contact the people at the top of that hospital --- Presidents office, Board member, etc. Surely they would want to avoid a court date and try to get you the information you need asap to rest your mind. In the mean time try to keep positive - the odds are (ofcourse) very low that anything is wrong. Peace... G

The CEO of the hospital is involved and is the one who actually had the nurse/tech fired. Someone from the CEO office called me back and said they would have her blood drawn at their hospital. I told them that was unacceptable to me, I wanted it done through an independent lab. She stated they would send it to an independent lab. I told her again, I want the whole process done through an independent lab not affiliated with the hospital. I am waiting for another call back from her .... It looks like they are going to make this difficult.. so unfortunately I have also put in a call to our family attorney. I really cannot believe this.......Loubon ~ I have tried to come up with a word for this all weekend.... bizarre fits it perfectly....In this day and age we live in something like this should never happen. Robin

  Mom Poppins, I felt my stress levels raise as I read your post. This is unimaginable and certainly unacceptable! You are doing the right thing - keep pushing for answers through the proper, independent channels. PD and many many prayers coming to you.

Muffy~ You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I know the feeling of waiting for news of medical tests - it certainly is not easy. Please know you have quite a few cyber friends pulling for you!

RobMax~ :( for your December trip but sending you PD for a May trip. I am crossing my fingers and toes that we can take a trip in July. So, I know how you feel. I need a Swan/WDW fix. My Dh says "Is that a want or a need?" :teeth: For me, it is definitely a NEED!

What a moron - good luck and don't let up!!!

I can NOT believe what I just read. I would have been arrested if that had happened to my daughter.(I would have killed the nurse with my bare hands!!!) What city do you live in? DO NOT LET THIS REST. Call your attorney and fight. It is absolutely disdusting that someone would do something like this. GOOD LUCK and PLEASE KEEP US POSTED!

Mom Poppins - As a nurse and a mother, I cannot tell you how much it sickens me that you are having to go through such a horrific situation. There is simply no excuse for something like that to happen, and the hospital officials should be doing all that is in their power to reassure you, including sending bloodwork to an independent lab. Stick to your guns - you are in the right here!

Muffy>> Know that all of us Sigma Delta's are rooting for you! Please let us know how everything turns out.

MomPoppins>> I am just appalled at what I am reading! I pray that all the bloodwork comes back nice and clean. What a horrible thing to happen!

RobMax>> PD to your May trip!

Lisa>> Sounds like P/PD and pineapple juice have done their work! Glad your DD is doing great!

I leave on Wednesday morning for Tampa. I will be at a Westin so I should be online through Saturday morning when I'll be kidnapping my mother and taking her to Disney! I am so geeked about this trip! It isn't enough days, but I think I can make mom see the "light" and maybe convince her to join us during part of our Easter trip!

Debbie

Mom Poppins- I too am horrified at your situation. Please clarify whether or not this person was actually a nurse (RN) or medical asst- it is inexcusable either way, however, I would be even more horrified if it was a real nurse. Everyone in the doctors office gets called "nurse", when actually doctors employ very few-too expensive they think. Medical asst have 6 months of training, too little in my opinion. I would absolutely have her tested, and I am surprised she didn't offer, the absolute least she owes you is peace of mind that your precious little person will be ok. Good Luck- I will be thinking of you.

Hi to everyone- life has been very busy lately and I am lurking more that posting- I hope all of you, and your offspring are well, considering the vast number of challenges you all have been facing lately!!

Robin~First of all, I applaud your quick thinking in acting as soon as possible on this matter. Please, don't be so hard on yourself about the seemingly slow response in the room...as you were probably in shock (been there-done that). Yet, you certainly did the right thing, and followed through. What an atrocity.

Please, check a few sites which may be helpful regarding TEXAS state law on the issue of health-care workers and testing. I would also call your local law enforcement agency and describe the situation. They may be able to assist and proceed aside from your atty.

Check-out the following:

*It appears HEALTH CARE WORKERS are the one profession which qualifies for MANDATORY TESTING.

My heart goes out to you, and I await the results of your progress. With all B-Kirk has been through--and you too, this just seems unecessary. Yet, I must trust and have faith in the Good Lord, and believe all will turn out well. He must have something VERY special planned for Baby Kirk, after all the odds he has already overcome. ::yes:: Keep your faith, and your spirit strong. I'll be with you in thought and prayer. God Bless, Robin.

Always,

Lisa
