Hi everyone! :wave2:

Haven't had a chance to chime in lately but I try to keep up with the postings here.

zurgswife : Hope everyone is feeling okey-dokey for a great weekend. My best to DD, DH, Smore + the whole family--that means you too!

And, I thought I might mention this: ;) Go Yankees!

Everyone:  Superb weekend to all--and to those of us who love baseball, WOW! It's going to be incredible! ::yes::

--miffy--

I love seeing my countdown clock..........

I think we need to start an investigation as to why the Marlins and Yankees aren't cooperating. Don't they know the whole country is looking forward to a Cubs / Red Sox World Series?

Well, I hope Kerry Wood can continue his strong winning ways. I read his wife was upset over being shown so much on TV, usually in a pretty stressful expression. So Fox said they would limit the reaction shots. (They met while she was working in a restaurant that my SIL goes to often. Quite a change in lifestyle!)

Happy Friday eveyone. Looking forward to more Disbug trip reports.

Bill

We will be staying at the Swan on a cash&points stay. I was wondering if the rooms with King beds also have fold out sofas. I have read conflicting reports on this.

We had a king room with sofa and I think it was a fold out. (more like a loveseat size though) We didn't actually use it so I am not sure. I would call the hotel directly and ask. Reply back here if you find out though!

Go Yankees!! ::yes:: :bounce: ::yes::

As a former Bronxite, no matter where I go the "gentlemen of summer" (pinstripes) are my team and Yankee Stadium my fav venue(real organ, 7th inning stretch). I tried to become an Astros fan when I moved to Houston but the energy and excitement didn't exist in the games. And there's no fan like a Yankee fan - True Blue!

At the risk of this staying off topic:

tink - I will say my oldest son has now been to Yankee Stadium twice, Fenway once, and of course Wrigley countless times (also The Cell, as we call where the White Sox play - but that doesn't count). He is in love with all three parks, and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. I've been outside Fenway during game day, but not inside. And no where near Yankee Stadium ever, but would like to. He went there for two games just after the 1st anniversary of 9/11, and he said the atmosphere at that time and friendliness of the native New Yorkers was inspiring. He and his friends were even given a personal escort to the subway from one of New York's finest - and he posed for a picture with them at the Subway as well. Then got them through the turnstyle without paying.

Despite that, however, he's rooting for the Red Sox, as is our whole family. (the city of Boston left a great impression on all of us).

But a Yankee / Cub WS would be fun. I'm sure Fox is rooting for the Cubs; the ratings difference with the Marlins would be dramatic.

On topic post - I really like the Swan/Dolphin. (That's the best I could do; getting psyched about tonight's game.)

Kind of on topic :) My DH whom is a building inspector for a wealthy community "Highland Park" was able to land a part time job for a smaller city as well. He can set his own hours to do the inspections whenever he wants and will get paid a part-time salary. Can you say more money for trips WDW :) With our family of 7 every bit helps :) Besides my DH will retire at the ripe old age of 42 from his current job with full retirement benefits. He needed something closer to home to fall back on with flexible hours. This might be just what he was looking for... we will see :)

Disfanrn ~ Glad you got a better view :earseek: Keep the reports coming.... How was your castle breakfast ?

Happy Friday everyone

Okay guys- things going from bad to worse at the Dolphin-I am so frustrated I want to scream. I am now listening to jack hammers and banging as they are obviously working on renovations? So I call to ask for housekeeping as it is2 pm and our room hasn't been made up yet, and ask if the work will continue into the night as it is loud in our room. The front desk says they are not working near our room and they will get back with me. No call back so I call SPG to see if I can switch to the Swan and they are sold out 2 nights during our stay. She listens to my concerns and offers her condolances. Then I call the front desk back and a nice woman named Gail answers and asks what she can do. I ask her if there is any possibility to switch to another room on a non club floor and use CL, she is currently checking on this. I will let you all know how this all ends but I am very frustrated and disappointed.

Hang in there Disfanrn and hopefully it will be resolved soon.... I am sorry to hear you are having such a rough time with your room. I understand completely and would not want to be near the renovations either. I hope they can resolve it for you soon... keep us posted... Pixie dust headed your way ++++++++++

:( I'm sorry, too, DisfanRN, that all is not going smoothly. It is upsetting to be frustrated while on vacation. Keep us posted.

ww52, jmcross - are we Sox fans outnumbered here in the sorority house? Good thing there is plenty of room for all of us!:duck: Gotta love this friendly rivalry!

Disbug~ Just returned from the Trip Reports Board :moped: -- You rock (that's what one of my second graders said to me today)!!!

Mom Poppins~ Good news for your DH. Retire at 42? How nice indeed.

Mom2aPrincess~ Our King room had a pull out sofa - the sofa looked love seat size - probably a small double bed inside.

DF~:magnify: are you out there?

I just cannot believe what a time you are having! We stayed on the 5th floor, east wing room 5027 and we had some type of renovations going on right next door and honestly I would have never known it if I hadn't seen workmen going in and out a few times with power tools. Then I noticed the floor was covered in plastic tarps. So, even though I was on a floor that was supposedly renovated, work was going on around me without my knowledge. I hope the same is true for you soon! Nothing can so dampen your fun as dissatisfaction with your accomodations! Good luck and more PD comin' at ya!:wave2:

Thanks, mouseteacher!~ U rock, 2! :3dglasses

disfanRN - Hopefuully you'll at least get some SPG points for your inconveniences.

Also wondering about DF...

And also Lou...and Bobump... and any other honorary brothers that may be lurking.

Bill~ I believe Lou is very busy over at the DIS Yearbook. Hopefully, he will "pop" on over here soon.

Listening to the TV news cast in the background - all news stories are about our Red Sox! The local boys are BIG right now and it's all everyone is talking about around these parts!

Been a busy day around here! I am just so glad I have a three day weekend!
Disbug...I AM proud of you! So many pictures, I hope your PC doesn't explode! Haven't read your report yet, but I will soon! Can't wait. :wizard:

zurgswife....sending PD your way again. Sounds like you need a calm, relaxing weekend away. Hope everyone is on the mend soon.

mom2aprincess....We had a King room(actually a jr. suite), with a pull out sofa, that my ds slept on.

disfanrn...so sorry about your room. Have you tried asking for James? I think he works in the evening. You should also pm Dreamflight...I think she can help you out. I understand your frustration

Yes, they DO block rooms. All platinum rooms are blocked and I was told by a cm that they are not allowed to mess with them. The room manager is the only one that can change a platinum room. I don't know if they block other rooms or not, but I would assume that if they tell you it is blocked, it is.

Lou...where are you? :scratchin
Have a great weekend everyone!:grouphug:
Wish all your teams could win!:genie: :wave2:

The Yankees/Red Sox ALCS is like getting an extra World Series this year! And I'm sure all you Red Sox fans will agree. ;)

Great weekend to all. --miffy--

Go Yankees!

ww52- In keeping with the graciousness your son experienced at Yankee Stadium, you're forgiven for rooting for that other team.

But-
Go Yankees!!

:sunny: DisfanRN-Not making light of your troubles, but I'd trade your Dolphin aggravation for my office aggravation just about now.

PD***** to you!

Also on topic: Are the renovated beds Queens or doubles?

Okay DF - that cheer for the Yankees is very loud (aka large caps!) I'll match that cheer:

GO SOX !!! -
(oops - how did you get yours so large?)

Tink ~ Dolphin renovated beds are doubles (slightly larger than a regular double) and Swan has queen.

Go Sox !!!!!!!

Here you go Mouseteacher a little help from an un-bias fan :)

Mouseteacher ~ When you select the image as huge, it will only have size=5 appear in front of your saying, just change the number to 60 and it will appear larger :) Have a great weekend

:lovestruc Thanks, Mom Poppins. I can't let DF get the better of me since my techie skills are so limited! Shhhh... don't tell her you were conspiring with the enemy.:guilty:
