I'm Right Here!!!!!

I've purposely stayed quiet during these playoffs. Being a Mets fan there is no way I won't offend someone here because....

I Hate the Yankees (sorry it is the rules for a Mets fan)

Bosox (see 1986)

Cubbies (see 1969)

Marlins (poor imitation of that fish on top of that hotel all of you are always carrying on about!) By the way the picture from Disbug's room showing the BC is where I hang out..... Well, not in Disbug's room but at the BC. Oh never mind...

And finally, my Rangers start tonight so that should get #1HM all riled up.

So you see, sometimes it is better to stay quiet....

He shoots he SCOOOOORRRREEEESSSSS! stevie Y that is! :wizard: We won our opening game, Lou.. meet you in the finals!

ok, that wasn't on topic, or baseball related....

GO SOX! GO YANKEES!

On topic>> I can't wait to go back to the Swan! Or am I staying at the Dolphin... I don't remember and as long as I am there I will be happy!:hyper:

I left beverages out for everyone. Have a great night! :grouphug:

LOL! :wave2: ( Love you anyway LOU!! )

:p Like I said Lou, us Yankee fans are very forgiving (especially since you put me in the year book-THANKS).

Thank you Mouseteacher. I think I'm a little obsessive about my hotel rooms. I like to know the details. Right now I'm obsessing about a 2 day trip to San Antonio. I'm trying to stay at a Starwood property so I can accrue points before my WDW trip but their properties are limited- very high end (250 a night at the Westin) or low end (badly rated 4 points Sheraton. I love their 89 rate but I don't want to stay in a dump even for 2 days). Anyway, gotta get back to mulling and hotel page surfing.

Oops, I forgot:

Go Yankees!!!

Hi from the Dolphin!!!!!

Thankyou so much DF and everyone else who wished us well and encouraged me to ask for a room change. They gave me another, this time a fabulous view of MGM and the Boardwalk, one tiny drawback was the windows were small and have a large chunk of wall between them. They said there weren't any other rooms available so I took the fabulous view with the funky wall. So we moved eveything over and feel better about it.:)
Whew~Glad to hear everything is a bit better "VIEW-WISE" at the WDW Dolphin! I know exactly WHERE you are in the resort based upon your description of the room. Are you in a Jr. Suite, or standard room? Also, be sure to ask about the Sheraton Promise....as you deserve some SPG points for all the inconvenience you've experienced. I'm just thrilled to read you are enjoying things a bit more, and seem content. KUDOS to you, for making the changes~! ::yes::

As a former Bronxite, no matter where I go the "gentlemen of summer" (pinstripes) are my team and Yankee Stadium my fav venue(real organ, 7th inning stretch). I tried to become an Astros fan when I moved to Houston but the energy and excitement didn't exist in the games. And there's no fan like a Yankee fan - True Blue!
Very poignant, indeed. Thank you...for bringing back some memories (gentlemen of summer). :sunny: :goodvibes

Tink44 ~ The LaCantera is a nice property in San Antonio. I lucked into it on priceline and still was able to get points for our food etc. You might want to try www.biddingfortravel.com and see what hotels are coming up for your dates in San Antonio. My personal favorite is the Hyatt Hill Country Resort... it's an awesome resort. You might want to try it sometime. Let me know if you have any questions.

As Ozzie Posted... Platinum rooms are blocked in advance. They are also elegible for CL, no matter WHERE they are in the resort. CL and other perks...are comp for Plat. members.

Disfan~This was happening when we were there this past summer. We stayed up REALLY late one night in particular (as we did this a few times), until about 5:00 am. SO....the next day...we were sleeping, and the DRILLING/JACKHAMMER begins to resound through the walls of our suite. I immediately phoned the front desk, and told them if they continued to DISTURB my rest...I would NOT PAY for the room for that day. AMAZINGLY...everything "stopped" like MAGIC! (LOL). The manager on duty called my suite, and informed me they were crediting my account $100 for the inconvenience ($50 X 2, since I had to phone TWICE regarding the incident...before I informed them of my intentions).

I HOPE everything is taken care of for you, Disfan. If you speak with the right person, the problem should be amended asap. There are laws in place prohibiting them from "disturbing PAYING patrons", and they TRY to push the boundaries of these parameters. Just let them know STRAIGHT OUT you will NOT PAY for your room, due to the interruptions in rest/enjoyment. I assure you...it will STOP. ::yes::

Please...let me know what happens, Also, let this be a learning experience for anyone about to travel to the Dolphin. They are in the MIDST of RENOVATIONS...but can do the work W/O disturbing you and your vacation. Please, be sure to contact the management at the FIRST SIGN of noise, etc.

Received my Homeowner's tax notice today!~Rates have increased again...due to another assessment of appreciation of our property. This would have to come at the same time...as the NEW AMENDED AUTO insurance premiums! (LOL).

BTW, MOM POPPINS... No more techie clues for the SOX FANS! :snooty: (JK!!)

GO YANKEES!!!:rotfl:

Are you a middle child? You are so sweet...trying to keep the peace. Thanks for the BEVS...I think I'll take mine with some VICTORY CRACKERS! (LOL).

Are we having FUN with this series...or WHAT?

*How's the weather in Mich? My dad just flew back home to NY from his visit in Muskegon and all surrounding areas. He said it's beginning to get "chilly" (yes?). Enjoy the weekend, Deb. BTW...JK about the childbirth-order thing!!

 Thanks mom poppins, I'll give them a try.

I was just venting but as usual someone on this board comes up with something helpful.

And thanks DF99 for your encouragement on assertiveness to Disfan. I'm glad we're on the same team!

::yes:: GO YANKEES!!! (too busy to fiddle around with vb codes).

 tried to get that tink44 in my signature from Lou but failed miserably.

What the heck, I'll work on it tomorrow. Pass the beverages and of course the "Victory" crackers ;)

Go Sox !!!!!!!

What else is there to say? Here's to a great series this weekend!! May the best team win!!!!!

hi everyone, sorry havent a clue who any off the teams are, or what is going on!! we only have boring football over here, and thats getting really bad press at the moment, so i hope you all enjoy the games and that you are all happy with the results, susie

*laughing* I am the oldest of only two. My brother is three years younger. I think Mom/teacher slips in on the keep the peace! LOL Actually... I Love hearing both sides! This is "your" sport. I'll be mightly loud when hockey really gets going! Big ten football is our other "sport of choice" (grumbling about someone's rangers... rangers smangers....LOL) (I am joking, Lou!)

I love the phone call to the front desk! I would have loved to hear the pounding stop at that moment when you refused to pay for your room! Good going Lisa!

It is homecoming weekend here, too! Our HS actually won their game! They've been in losing mode for a few years now. This year it might only be two games won, but that is a lot more than last year! Today we have our youngest's football game, then will be able to leisurely drive home to see DD before she goes to the homecoming dance. I am very glad football is a home game this weekend and not an hour away! :)

Happy Saturday!
Debbie

Hi all, we are staying at the Swan for the very first time coming up at the end of November. We were wondering if there are any specials for AP holders, aside from the discounted room rates, that we should know about. Also interested in getting restaurant recommendations, and where to go to grab a quick breakfast. Are there any character meals at the Swan? And is the $10/day resort fee mandatory?

Thanks!

WELCOME blueorchid2 from a fellow WL VET!

Here's a few suggestions and links for your questions:

1) I can't think of any AP specials other than the discounted rate ($139, isn't it?).

2) Restaurant recommendations: For Great Steak there is SHULA's Steakhouse at the Dolphin. Shula's Steakhouse at the DOLPHIN
Definitely on the upscale pricing list, but it is an upscale place.

Kimono's comes highly recommended for Japanese fare including sushi. KIMONO's Japanese Restaurant at the SWAN

We have eaten at Tubbi's (over at the DOLPHIN) for a quick bite in the morning. There is also a place to just grab coffee and a muffin in the Lobby. The Boardwalk has a great bakery if you are walking over to EPCOT.

For Italian Food Try Palio's. It is also highly recommended.PALIO's Italian Restaurant at the SWAN

3) Character Meals are at Gullivers.Gulliver's Menu at the SWAN *But there is also a character breakfast not far away at the Beach Club... Cape May Buffet. Don't forget the Princess Character Breakfast in EPCOT's Norway at Akershus! That is becoming second popular to the Cinderella's Royal Table Character Breakfast...

4) The resort fee used to be optional but is now mandatory unless you are a Starwood Platinum Preferred Guest.

Enjoy your stay!

:wave2: Hi, sorority house!

BluOrchid2~ Welcome to this thread. I stayed at the Swan this past July and really enjoyed going to the Lobby Lounge in the morning and bringing back to our room pastries /juice and coffee. Or you can sit right there at cozy little tables and then zip off for the day. Our last morning, we did go to Garden Grove for the breakfast buffet which was excellent. I have dined at Shula's and Palio's and highly recommend both. I understand Todd English (a Boston celeb chef) is opening a restaurant in the Dolphin called BlueZoo. His local restaurants are superb.

susie~ I believe your football is = to soccer here state side. :D The "friendly" rivalry going on here is about baseball -- New York v. Boston - a great and long time rivalry between the 2 cities which makes the series a wonderful take.

#1HM~ Hockey is big here in Boston, too, but the Bruins need help. Back in the 70s - the days of the Big Bad Bruins - the Bruins were exciting...Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito and company and winning the Stanley Cup. It's been a long time since those days.

STARTED Day 2 of "Disbug Goes Solo" and I somehow managed to RESTART my computer:eek: so, it is gone... I must start over! OOPS...
