Does it seem odd to the rest of you that we haven’t seen any room discounts for November/ December yet? Especially with competing with Epic Universal. Any news on when we might see something?

We are the issue. Everyone booked rooms pre-discounts. So Disney sees full inventory and is like why do I gotta do discounts all these plebs already have rooms without it. They will just apply the discounts and I’ll lose money. So really the best advice of booking and then apply future discounts kind of makes it seem like they don’t gotta do discounts at all.

From several sources there will be priceline.com discounts released 7/8 but the promo is only for a few days. Up to 40% but no details that I have seen yet...

Do room discounts result in new bookings? How many bookings are from guests with existing reservations who reprise their reservation?

Not sure, but I refused to book a non discounted room for early December, I'm currently booked at the Dolphin for less than Disney is charging for their Moderate resorts for my dates.

I have to assume the answer is yes, Disney’s biggest concern is giving discounts can result in a loss of money because people who would have gone anyways will take advantage of it and thus the discount wasn’t necessary.

Remember. Disney always includes wordage that the offer is limited to a set number of rooms. Their math still works in their favor 😉.

Haha are you suggesting that tricky Disney will make an offer that won’t cover any currently booked room time frames? Lol. It probably wouldn’t be too hard for them to program either.

Brb adjusting the dates and stuff

Same, we are booked in 1BR suite w balcony at Swan around Xmas for 60% less than comparable rack rate crescent lake resort 1BR DVC villa. Still a better deal than both bounceback and AP rates, which had nearly non existent availability anyway. Swan and Dolphin also offer an AP rate, or at least they did when I booked a few months back.

I'm thinking that Disney is pretty well booked up for the holiday season. With 20% off being the max, that says a lot.
If they are so well booked up then why even offer 20%? How many of those current bookings take advantage of this additional promo

I’m not too convinced especially since they doing the Christmas stuff a week later now. Might be because they didn’t see demand for all the weeks of the Christmas party and want to do it a little less to fill up the ones they have.
I hope youre right. I prefer light crowds lol
