Just checking in to say good morning to y'all. How about those Cubs?

Waiting to see what happens with Disfan -- hoping that James can improve the situation for her. Disfan -- keep posting!

Hope you all have a great day. Leaving for DC on business in a few hours and plan to take you all with me. Lurking around your enthusiastic conversation always makes hanging out alone in a hotel room more fun.

hi, wow missed one day and had to catch up on three pages, dh had an open day at his new university and i was invited too, he is learning to be a teacher and we were shown round and even attended a lecture! that was a new experience for me, but was all very interesting, i was showing him all the new pictures that have been posted and he now realises that we made the right choice to change to the dolphin, thank you all for convincing him, we have joined the spg program but have still not received a membership card, we joined about six weeks ago, does it usually take this long for them to send it out , i realize that it has further to travel to us!! but has any one else waited this long, i have the membership number and passwords to get onto the site but no card yet, hope everyone has a lovely day susie

:wave2: Hi, susie!

You can go the spg site and print out a temporary card. Also, on the same page you can send for another card. I had the same thing happen to me. My card didn't come. I printed out a temp card and had a new one sent to me. I believe it came within 2 weeks.

What a lovely day you spent at the university. What age level is your DH planning on teaching?

Susie ~ Hello :) It does usually take awhile to get your starwood card. I would go to the www.starwood.com website and go to spg site and click for a replacement card. This way if it was lost or not ordered you will have another one on its way. I did this but before I got my replacement, my original showed up. You won't but disappointed in your choice of the Dolphin :)

Mouseteachers and other RED SOX baseball fans~ CONGRATULATIONS :teeth:

Its family night to watch "Survivor" so I need to go get pasta ready for dinner. Have a nice evening everyone ::MinnieMo

susie~ Our primary grades are Kindergarten through grade 3. I majored in Early Childhood Education in my undergraduate work and was a 2nd grade teacher for many years (7 year olds). Good luck to your DH!

:listen: DF - can't hear you! Did you say something about our win last night?!:teeth: ::yes::

Well off to get ready for game 2 - TTFN :moped:

On not hearing something......

I teach with a huge Yankees fan. She's always knocking the Red Sox. She was VERY quiet today!!!

GO RED SOX!!!!::yes::

Just a quick hi to all of you- watching our wonderful Red Sox. They'll break that 1918 curse for sure!!! I'll be sure to get on this weekend and have lots more to say. Teachers never to seem to be at a loss for words. One more month and we'll be in the magic for a long weekend - can't wait! Caroline::MinnieMo

Quick ontopic post after my circle meeting just broke up here! DH is watching THE GAME! Of course! Good for you, mouseteacher.... we'll just have to catch up (I think we're working on that tonight!)::yes::

When I was at the Dolphin earlier in the week, James checked my upcoming reservation and confirmed that I had a renovated room on the 5th floor with an EPCOT view! Perfecto! When I asked the CM (not James) to upgrade to CL with points, she said I would have to move to the CL level floor... HUH? She said they are trying to limit CL access to only those staying on the CL floor. Well, I did not want to trade my balcony or view for anything so I said no thanks!

I know Madge upgraded to CL with points for 1000 per night, right? Now, I am only Gold (recent Gold as you all know!) and maybe Madge is Plat and that is the difference. Just wanted to post my experience about that. The quoted points were 1250 for CL and 1500 for View. 10,000 pts for Jr. Suite.

Hi from the Dolphin!!!!!

Thankyou so much DF and everyone else who wished us well and encouraged me to ask for a room change. I did go to the front desk and speak with them, James was not in today. However they did allow me to view another room, unfortunately also a not so great view. Then they gave me another, this time a fabulous view of MGM and the Boardwalk, one tiny drawback was the windows were small and have a large chunk of wall between them. They said there weren't any other rooms available so I took the fabulous view with the funky wall. So we moved eveything over and feel better about it.:) After the whole thing, I did not remember to ask about the service promise with the fridge incident-oh well!

We had a very busy day, the parks were quite crowded. We did see the first showing of Wishes at MK-*WOW* is all I can say, it is truly amazing and my DH and I both had chills at the end! ALso saw Spectro fabulous as usual. Pal Mickey is so fun we bought one today and had a great time with it- technology is amazing!

I think we will switch our reservations for Dec and April to the Swan, I seemed to have enjoyed that much more, this feels very business oriented with a ton of conferences here now and the lobby filled with business people conducting mini meetings. The pools however are not busy at all and quite wonderful.

Thanks again to everyone- you are all such helpful and sweet people, I truly appreciate your kindness and willingness to help a virtual stranger!! Good night everyone.

DisfanRN,

I'm trying to find out exactly where to ask to be at when we ck in. We can ONLY ask. But I'd like an Epcot view. Is that a water view as well?
I know I don't want to be looking at a cement wall or I've also seen a pic. of a canal with no water in it. I"m just so picky about things like this.

I've heard the East wing is good.

Any suggestions??

Thanks!

bigsky~ I'm up early, and just got back from the Dolphin. Excuse me for putting my 2 cents in, as it were! I stayed in the East Wing, with an awesome view of EPCOT. You just need to ask (ever so nicely!) when you check in for what you want. The CM will check for what is available! Hope you enjoy your stay!

Here is what my view looked like:

disfanRN~ So glad your stay has turned out even better! I guess we are not truly strangers - we are Disney S/D lovers making us great cyber friends.

To all _ check out the video presentation which shows Wishes - click on the Press Event at the top of the Resorts page. WMCorey included a video of the day and evening. I got goosebumps just watching this short segment.

Children are having their pictures taken today. Off to start the school day TTFN...:moped:

not talking about last night's game! :(

 -- ozzie ;)

Just popping in for a wave to all of my sorority sisters and honorary brothers!:wave2:

It is Friday! Have a great day!

yes, I used 100 points per night...that's what the SPG site says and that's what the front desk agent quoted me. I know others have been charged more. That seems to be very inconsistent at the Dolphin...

I'm SPG Gold. Plats get complimentary CL upgrades.

Hey Gang....family update...
DH is back at work though very slowly and driving my car as his has a clutch....I'm sure we have quite a few days before he is back to normal...

DDMade it though the last 3 1/2 days of school to only be fatigued by Thursday...luckly no school today but she didn't sleep in cause the phone woke her up...I have a call in to the DR.

SmoreEverything was OK until yesterday when an abscess formed..headed back to doggie hospital and the put in a drain tube (YUCK!!!) it needs to stay until Sunday....she is back to wearing the Elizabethian Collar to keep her from pulling out the tube....Fun at my house this weekend..

On a up note it is Charter Day Weekend in my town (basically Homecoming) but not really any how big party weekend even if DH's back doesn't hold up I think I might party hop

On topic If your room is blocked...does that mean they know the exact room they are planning to put you in?...seems my Dolphin ressies that I made in Feb for my Dec trip were screwed up...and they had blocked most of the rooms already...I spent most of the phone call with Marie straightening out the ressie and forgot to ask if she was able to tell me where the room is block....So if blocking means they can tell me the room I think I might call back...

:wave2: Right back at ya, #1HM!

ZURGSWIFE: Thanks for the update on your family! Yes, I believe if a room is blocked that means it is a reserved room... DF99, ozzie or one of the others could probably elaborate on this. I know when I was at the front desk, James, so graciously "locked" my blocked room so that it could not be changed. So, that was interesting! That might explain why every time I checked on the website, I had a different explanation come up about my view!

Good day everyone! More Souvies coming as I upload them from my new 128 MB Smart Media Card! Oh, ozzie you would be so proud of me... I had 412 pictures on that card, and another 40 on my 16 MB card! LOL!:hyper:

GO YANKEES!
