Welcome home Madge!

Your view was almost identical to ours from August, but you were one floor higher, we were on the 2nd floor, room 2717!

Aren't those beds the most comfortable thing you've ever slept in?

it was a nice view! I liked being on the lobby level floor, too. no fighting over the elevator :) since we had CL priv. it was handy, too. we had the best of all worlds--a balcony, renovated room, and CL priv. it was great! In hindsight, I wouldn't have the balcony with "my" toddler--everytime someone opened the door, she wanted to escape, LOL!!

I LOVED the bed--DH, did not. He likes a firm mattress:rolleyes:

:wave2: Welcome home, madge! Glad you had a renovated room to experience the heavenly beds or sweet sleeper ---- whichever!

ww52~ Can we dream of a Sox / Cubs World Series? :hyper: I was so tense watching the game - I felt like I couldn't breathe! They can't do things the easy way - they do it the hard way!! I am a little foggy today from such a late night.

OK...this is getting rediculous....Zurg threw out his back last night and is flat on his back in bed today..  He made it through all the construction of the weekend and bent over to pat the dog and his back just said soooo long.....I've got to head back to work...I'll stop back later...

I think I am just about all caught up on my reading...Lisa, I am so glad you are ok! Car accidents are scary, scary...BTDT, twice. Zurgs Wife...wow! You have a lot on your plate! your family is in my prayers. Disbug, did you do a trip re-cap? I "think" I saw you at Epcot on Thursday night...I was in the midst of a toddler meltdown, and I couldn't catch up to see if it was you or not. If it wasn't you, I'm sure it was someone else from the DIS, because I saw a lime green paint chip from the Home Depot :teeth: I looked for you at check-in, but the lobby was deserted Friday afternoon after that convention was over....

Who wanted to know about upgrading the passes from Paramount? Mom Poppins...was that you? Just to let you know, we used our breakfast vouchers at Chef Mickey's and the Beach Club, without a hitch.

we celebrated Anna's birthday at both!

here is the only picture I have (on floppy) from the MNSSHP. My battery had just enough juice for one more pic before the battery died, LOL!

All the stressing I did about the shirts, LOL....I thought the boys looked great! Anna didn't feel well that night--I think the vacation caught up with her at that point. SHe was ready to come home!

Madge ~ ahhhhhh the pictures are so sweet.... I also saw your "first haircut" picture on the other thread.... all soooo cute. I was hoping to get Jr.s first haircut, but no way will he be ready maybe next time :) Did you upgrade your passes to annual passes?

Zurgwife ~ More PD and prayers coming your way.... :)

Disbug ~ Still want to here more about your trip... have you done a trip report... I hope I have not missed it :)

Happy Tuesday everyone :wave2:

~WELCOME HOME Disbug & Madge!~

Disbug[/b~]Thank you so much for the thoughtful souvie! I nearly CRIED as I looked at the Coffee and view. It's the same FAR EAST WING view In enjoy for months on end in the summer. Obviously, I miss and NEED to return to the WDW DOLPHIN. This makes the planning all the more sweet. ::yes::

James is a SWEETIE indeed!

Zurgswife~Wow...what a heart-wrenching story about "Smore", and your DH's back woes (painful).

ww52 ~Careful, Bill. I'm a DIE-HARD Yankee fan...and bleed "Yankee Blue"! (LOL...JK).

madge~Adorable! Great photos. Thanks so much for sharing.

*Auto insurance prems are in....whew! Adding DD & new Beetle increased policy by more than (are you all sitting down?) $2600 annually! That's Calif. insurance for you. Incredible. But...there's no way around it. So, C'est la VIE! (LOL). I KEEP SMILING. :sunny:

Did you upgrade your passes to annual passes?

I did--but, I'm not sure that I would advise anyone else to. Here's what happened:

On Tuesday (9/30) it was clear to us that we weren't going to do any water parks. at that point, the weather was not good for swimming, and chasing ANna around was simply not an option . We hadn't planned on doing a park that day, but over breakfast DH and I agreed that it might be worth it just to see what the upgrade cost would be. I walked with the kids to Epcot and stopped at the Guest services window there. Immediately after the CM swiped my pass to get it's value, the computer went down. He took my 3 passes into the back and came out with new ones. Then he went ahead with the upgrade from there. I ended up paying about $37 per pass for the upgrade, starting on 9/30 :) I only wish that DH had been with me....I stopped at the entrance to Epcot (through Future World) to upgrade his pass. This CM had no problem with her computer. That upgrade cost about $90, which is probably what it should have been for each of the passes. I was ok with that, because my total was still less than $200 for the 4 of us. What I didn't realize until AFTER I left the gate was that Scotty's AP is only good until August 29, which was the date on the back of the pass, NOT the first day he used the 7-day PHP. make sense? I was fine with the price, but not the back-dating....too late to do anything at that point

I still came out ahead, though...$1163 + 180= $1343 for the APs and free breakfast. The cheapest I could have gotten the AP for is through SoG, and that price was $1392.

I would check and double check on the price before you upgrade...

I can PM about this if anyone has any other questions, since it really isn't on topic :) I sent you one, Mom Poppins, check your box!

Madge ~ Well I am a little confused  I am planning on upgrading also. I am confused about the dates. What are the valid dates on yours? How much was it per adult pass and per child's pass.... sorry you have to repeat... but thanks... :)

zurgswife~ We need to shoo that dark cloud over your house away and send some PD and hugs your way.

Ahem, DF!! :hyper: guess you and I can't discuss baseball. ;)

madge~ thanks for the pictures - loved seeing the madge family!

Hi everyone! We are down to *hours* now- I can't wait to get to the Dolphin!!

I'll try to post when I'm there, if I can figure this hookup out!

Thanks everyone for all the great info, I'll tell Mickey you all say hello!

Hi DF99 and all

Haven't been here for an age. I have a question which I'm sure is in one of the many previous pages but I thought it quicker to just ask.

I'm a Gold SPC member now and I also hold an AP and have my Disney Club membership until the end of the year. I'm looking for a rate for The Swan/Dolphin in December in Value season but I'm finding it hard to get anything less than the $156 (incl. tax) per night rate I have at Wilderness Lodge but I really want to be in an Epcot resort for 14th-19th December.

Is it possible to get a rate less than that at the Swolphin? I'm not military, techer etc so don't qualify for cheap rate.

I was trying to use points for BWV or BCV for a studio but alas fully booked - that would have been my cheapest option.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Fantasia Sam~Other posters on the resort board have mentioned getting the Dolphin on Hotwire. They explained in the post what features to look for when bidding. I have never used Hotwire so I can't be more helpful. Good Luck!

Mouseteacher~I'll talk baseball with you anytime!!
GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joanne

That was my suggestion as well... check the Budget Board and you should be able to find a thread about Hotwire or Priceline and if anybody is getting it there. I have seen the Dolphin for about $111 per night for the holidays... good luck!

Welcome back Disbug and Madge!

Disbug - Thanks so much for the souveneirs, I have to make sure Potato Head stops by to see them. Very sweet of you to remember us.

Madge -- Cute family!

Going to be 80 degrees in Chicago today and I just know that the cubs are going to win tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Lauren

Welcome back Disbug and Madge! Great pictures from both of you!

Disbug>> Oh I love my souveniers! Now if I can just get in that tub, lock the door, and have no commitments I'll be in heaven! :)

We have meetings today through Friday this week, so I am taking a few minutes to try to catch up!

JGates>> An Edison teacher by chance? We sent 3 teachers to Atlanta last night for their "Edison training". I went to Chicaco three years ago for mine. The five of us that went refused to fly due to it being right after September 11th, and drove instead. Considering the backup at the airports, we probably drove quicker than flying! We did have a chance to do some sight seeing.

Zurg's wife>> I'll share my souveniers with you so you can have a calgon moment. You need one! Mouseteacher, you too! (sorry about your sox!)

DF>> We pay 170 a month for DD's insurance. Had we just put her on our cars, it would have been over twice as much. That was another incentive for us getting her her own wheels.

Disfanrn>> Have a safe and happy trip! *waving towards the airport*

We have DD's senior pictures! They are beautiful! We haven't decided what size/what prints to get yet. We are still in sticker shock over the prices! :earseek:

DS's hockey team just won their first scrimmage last night! I think it is going to be a great season! I gave out all the schedules, and got all of my "manager" paperwork done. I think I am almost organized!

I smell donuts and coffee...... off to the meetings! Have a wonderful day!
Debbie

Hi all,
Just popping in to catch up.
I could use a 'calgon moment' too. That is, if I don't sleep through it! Fell asleep last night about 8, then got up and went to bed, just about the time the Marlins hit the last home run. Sorry Lauren and Bill. I think the cubbies will come through...I really do. Great starting pitching staff.
Fantasia Sam......besides hotwire and priceline, I copied the AP rates I received from the S/D for you:

) New Annual Pass holder's Rate
(Rate Code = AP)

For the remainder of 2003, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin will be offering the following benefits to Annual Pass holders:

Special rates starting at $139.00 per night, available at BOTH the Walt Disney World Dolphin, as well as the Walt Disney World Swan.
One category complimentary upgrade on room (Purchase "Standard" rate, be upgraded to "Lake View", as an example)
Complimentary 4PM late check out at both properties.
* Based on rate schedule availability
Call 1-888-828-8850 for reservations

Hope that helps.
DF.....I am right there with ya on the car insurance. Be glad you only have one! We have four cars in our family and ins for everyone......yikes!

Madge and Disbug.......loved your pictures...give us more details!!!

Have a great day, everyone!
Bye......:moped:

Hi Fantasia Sam

If you have an AP pass you can get 50% off the rack rate and one level upgrade at the Swan & Dolphin. I got it for our trip in Dec.
