I noticed that are from north of Boston. We are from west of Boston... Lexington... Hello...

Thank you for your help... I knew this posting would have all the experts... so looking forward to our stay...

I think that with the water and soda that we will be drinking along with the breakfast for four people (two of them hungry teenagers) this might work in our favour...

Are there any additional privileges for this level?

Here is our room on CL:
same as other rooms, higher up and could see Fantasmic AND Illuminations:

As for CL, I don't think I would pay $60 a day for CL, even for 4 of us. Have been on CL and I like it very much, but I have platinum spg and don't have to pay for it. Like mouseteacher said, it depends on whether you think it is worth it and how many of you there are. It is not open all day. I only know of one person who had a balcony on CL. Until then, I didn't think it existed. It was in the back of the hotel, facing the Dolphin. None of the rooms facing MGM have balconies. Depends on what you want the most. The transportation is great. To MGM and Epcot you can walk or take the boat. To MK and AK, you take a bus and the Swan is the first stop coming and going. The Swan has been completely renovated and lovely. YOu will love the beds!

NITEY-NITE!!! I'll be SLEEPING WELL tonight! :sunny: *ZZzzz...my YANKEES...ZZzz....my GREAT NY YANKEES...snore*

Today is a sad, sad day in Boston! I can feel the heaviness in the air. I think I'm going to go cry now.......

Joanne

Here's a hug for our guys...

Regarding last night...:faint: :faint: :faint:

DF~ OUCH!!! (Good luck to the Yanks anyway - however I will be rooting for the FISH in honor of the Dolphin fish!)

yfraser - not too far from you in Lexington, just a short drive north on 128 - I'm in Wakefield.

TTFN, to the sorority house - off to do my real life. :wave2:

...the yankee fans owe the reds a big thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to the Yankess and to their fans here (DF and others).

I felt about as bad last night as I did when the Cubs lost.

Looks like the Red Sox and Cubs have a new hex in common:
The curse of the crazy 8th.

Mouseteacher and Joanne - I feel your pain. I wonder - do the Boston papers print articles about the psychology of fans' emotions? That's gotten a big play here. Today was one about how it's good for kids to see players fail and then get back and try again the next time.

Joe Buck had the nerve to say "The Yankees are going back to the WS for the first time since 2001." What - is that a long time?

Then we have the Marlins, who haven't won anything since the Clinton administration. It's nice for all the kindergarteners who haven't seen their team succeed in their entire lives.

Am I a bit bitter? Is the Grotto pool one of the best relaxing retreats in all of WDW? (Notice the on-topic reference!)

Anyway -
Thanks everyone for the thoughts on my cancelled Feb trip. Yes - I read the "remorse" thread with great interest; thought of posting but everyone (especially DF) said it quite well. (I did post on the "is it addicting" thread, because I've thought that through and answered to many people who ask "why do you keep going back").

Two things to know: first, it's those feelings from the "remorse" thread that make our Colorado trip important. It's a family reunion (3rd annual now, but first out of our area). Something my wife's Dad always wanted to do but we never got around to it while he was alive. His brother is still with us, and he for years pressed for this. My wife and her cousin finally took charge and arranged it last year and was great then and also this year. We can't and won't miss that.

Second - we feel that even though funds are limited, we don't have to have a Disney vacation to enjoy time as a family. I remember a line in the preshow of HISTA: take a vacation without leaving your home. I think we need to work on that as a family a bit more.

Lastly - it's not like we won't be back. Our trip this summer was our first time back in five years; but we vacation as a family somewhere every year. I'm sure we'll go to WDW with my wife's brother and also her sister when the time is right.

Have a great weekend everyone. Now with the baseball season over, I can get to the Bears. (Whoops - just remembered they're horrible again this year). Oh well, time to clean out the garage before winter hits.

WW52 - Well said re: family time. For many, a trip to WDW is a once in a lifetime event due to financial constraints. Even with cutting corners and discounts, it's not an inexpensive vacation. Many of us are fortunate to be able to return. I think MomPoppins had a great vacation this past summer. Remember those pictures of her kids having such a wonderful time with their sand pile and their boat races in their own backyard? I think what is important is family time and the memories made..........no matter where it is spent or how much it costs. Of course, my preferred destination is Vero Beach and WDW, but we've made great memories building snowmen in the backyard or canoeing at the lake at my brother's camp or cutting down our Christmas tree in the woods. Your family reunion next summer will be equally as memorable, I'm sure. And, as you said -"I'll be back" (or was that Arnold?) ;)

Sox and Cubbies fans...........I feel your pain. (living near Buffalo with all of our sporting heartbreaks in the last decade or so) The only Major League baseball team I've ever seen play is the Mets. DH is a Toronto Blue Jays fan (since we are pretty close to Toronto) I know my mom is happy though since she loves Derek Jeter......but that's a whole different topic! I didn't watch the game last night but when flipping stations, saw that the Sox were leading in the 5th inning. I was shocked this morning when I heard the news. DH watched though and was hoping the Sox would win.

On topic - With the cold weather approaching the Northeast, my mind drifts back to my trip to the Swan last May. Thanks to everyone who has posted pics lately - great reminders of warmer weather and sunshine. :sunny:

With all this baseball talk you would think the OFF TOPIC GESTAPO would be arriving any minute....

LOL :earseek: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Congrats to the Yankee fans! I was rooting for the Red Sox's all the way. Looks like it was a close game.

Mouseteacher, I didn't know you lived in Wakefield! That is where my DS's wonderful GF lives! We adore her and her family, the Huang's. For all I know they could be your next door neighbors! This world is getting smaller and smaller!

On topic! Two new restaurants opening at the Dolphin. One is already open and the other one (owned by Boston chef Todd English) is slated to open in a few weeks. I will defiantly look into Todd English's new restaurant and report back!

disbug, have a safe trip to PA! I'm enjoying your trip reports.

Waving to everyone!

Muffy

ozziewags Love your pix of the room. It just looks beautiful. DH and I are really looking forward to our stay at the Swan in not that many more days!

Mouseteacher Sorry your Sox lost, but happy my Yanks won. It's too bad the game had to end. The teams were so even--it was fitting the series went to the 11th inning of the 7th game. I feel like I've already seen the World Series. What could be more exciting than Yankees/Red Sox?

zurgswife Hi. I couldn't go far back enough in the thread (the laundry is beckoning!) to see how your gang is doing. Hope all are well. Best to all of you for a great weekend.

to all my fellow Yankees fans :wave2: That may be the best game I've seen since 1978! ::yes:: The Curse is alive and well! Loved the sign in the stands that read: Mystique, don't fail me now.

I'll stop before the Off Topic Police arrest me!

Everyone Have a terrific weekend!

--miffy--

What a game! At one point I couldn't stand it and had to turn it off. Then, the Bronx Bombers did it again!!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I'm with you on the importance of family, ww52. We have a family reunion that keeps getting postponed and as a result, the funerals become great social events. (On the other hand, with their disagreements, I think my husbands family meets way too much, they need more time than a year to miss each other. :duck: )

I love all the pictures posted, gives me something to look forward to. :wave2:

Have a great weekend everyone.

Yes, ww52, family time and memories are made up of so many threads in the fabric of life (I must be reading too many of DF posts - I'm starting to sound like her - it's a good thing :D ). Our family times are wrapped around predictable family traditions - family dinner time, family prayer time before bed, trips to my dad's condo in the White Mtns of NH for ski trips, traditional extended family holiday dinners, family pool parties at my dad's house, our WDW trips, the funny birthday cake plate that plays Happy Birthday that still comes out every year, and so much more.

Well...baseball is over for the mousteacher family - we will turn our eyes to our Patriots. They play the other Dolphin (see I'mm on topic ;) ) - the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.

Muffy~ I will be interested to hear your review of Todd English's restaurant. I have never been to any of his local Boston restaurants. I guess it will take a trip to the Dolphin to try one.

I LOVED THAT SIGN, Miffy!~And I NEVER lost faith for one second. (We DID IT, Tink!) It was one of the greatest games I've ever seen! (*NOTE: The color of this post is YANKEE BLUE)!

NOW...the BABE is up there with WALT (in my book!). Thanks, Babe. Both are AMERICAN LEADERS...LEGENDS...and SURROUNDED by MYSTIQUE!!!

*Sorry for your Sox loss, Mouseteacher (and others). You KNOW I was picturing all of you last eve...knowing the pain and anguish you must have experienced over such a turn around.

Mouseteacher....thanks for the comparison compliments. ;) You can "sound like me" anytime! I've been skiing in the White Mtns., and also have this family "steeped" in Silly traditions (cake plate...too!). ::yes::

I'm excited about the new restaurants at the Dolphin! I've heard nothing but great things about T.E., and his Boston Spots. I'm sure the food will taste better at the Dolphin, so don't worry about visiting any of his places at home Mouseteacher. Just as all the restaurants seem superior while we are on vacation...must be the MAGIC! (There's LOTS of MAGIC going around lately).

*I hope you all took the post on the YANKS WIN in good fun. I care for you all, and aside from BASEBALL...our opinions on LIFE rarely differ. I did not intend to DIG/OFFEND any of you with my sentiments. I apologize if I did. :wave2:

TTFN...TGIF...DF~~

Heading out to DD's HS FB game for a nice low-key eve of sports. ^_^

HI gang....glad to see baseball is almost over....Congrats to the Yankee/Marlin fans and I'm really sorry to all of the Cubs/Sox fans that are feeling the pain....

Things at my house are beginnnig to calm down a little...sort of ...seems DD's illnesses have been brought on by emotional problems and stress.....any how we are working overtime trying to relieve her stress and other stuff....Thanks for all of your concern...

I'm wondering if rooms are blocked is there anyway to find out which rooms they actually are....They say my Dolphin room is blocked for my Christmas trip but I can't get them to tell me where or what floor. I'm soo curious....but I guess to much build up will make me too disappointed...I'd better be careful.

We bought a tractor tonight....Fall has begun....I've been begging for a tractor (ok actually hinting) all summer....I last lawn mower was a lemon and we haven't had anything but trouble. And we finally bought one tonight...and these things really don't have any sale price....Not really different then what I saw as prices at the beginning of the summer.....But we did buy a snow blade to push the snow off our driveway...I think that is the real reason....less shoving of snow....LOL

I'm really chomping at the bit to get back to WDW... I can't wait for my stay at the Dolphin....I'm hoping the kids and zurg enjoy it as well...

ttfn...

just popped in to say hello to everyone, hope everyone is well, its a very cold and wet day here in lovely england wishing we were back in wdw again, we where there this time last year and loved all the halloween activities, we dont really celebrate it over here so it was a lot of fun for the boys, but never mind next year we are there for all off xmas so looking forward to that. we have been looking for things to do that we havent done before, so we have upto now, hayrides, illuminations and parasailing, any more ideas for us all to do, well i have to go to the doctors now for update on tests i have been having for my epilepsy so i hope you all have alovely weekend susie :earsboy:

:wave2: Good morning and happy weekend, everyone!

susie~ good to hear from you. Our weather here is starting to turn colder and the wet weather is heading in this evening. Yes, to be back at WDW and sitting in the warm sun at the Swan quiet pool is a dream and a desire.

zwife~Well, at least you now know what is causing your DD illness and can treat the problem so she can feel better. Congrats on the tractor. Shoveling snow...:(

DF~ you could never offend anyone - it was great fun to play out the baseball rivalry here in our sorority house! :D
Now, on to football. DS is a big fan of football. He particularly loved Dan Marino and cheered for the Dolphins - even against the Pats- when Dan QB.

:moped: need to get my wheels rolling and do some house cleaning! I was a slow starter this morning!

See ya later...::yes::

Hey, everyone, I agree with marymg...check out delswife trip report on the Trip Reports Board. It is absolutely fantastic. 21 chapters so far and she is not done. You won't regret taking the time to read it.
