I believe check-in is 3:00 PM. I just looked at my reservation on the spg site and it is listed as:

Walt Disney World Swan
1200 Epcot Resort Blvd.
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830
United States
(407) 934-3000
Check-in
| 03:00 PM
| Jul 18, 2004

Check-out
| 11:00 AM
| Jul 30, 2004

I do need to do a little checking - I need to move my reservation out by 2 days if I can get an Entertainment rate at Royal Pacific. They expected them out in October so I had better get hopping.

Welcome back Glenn!

Hockeymom- No teacher meeting - I was at a Jack Henry conference. They provide processing systems/software for banks (and now credit unions - how awful  ) Several people asked us if it was a huge family reunion!! With 1000 bankers and about 300 JH employees it was huge!

How was our stay? Hyatt Atlanta on Peachtree (near the underground - since there are about 300 streets named peachtree in one form or another in Atlanta). The hotel was beautiful. Staff was very friendly. I checked in at the Passport desk and asked for a fridge for medication and a couple other things for my roommate. It is normally $25 per day, but it was waived for med reason. They have 3 towers and we were in the Atrium tower. The downside? The lobby bar is not really covered and boy does that noise travel!!!! When they were watching the games and yelling their lungs off at 1 a.m. it got a little old. We knew the hotel was filled to capacity so switching was not an option. DF/co-worker & I have decided we should carry some type of a white noise machine with us. (No exhaust vent in the bathroom - otherwise that probably would have solved it). Other disadvantages? - They were still renovating 3 floors - they hired non-union workers so the union was picketing out front and their chanting started pretty early in the morning. No full-length mirror (although our friend in the Ivy tower had one) and the TP holder in the bathroom is down so low that I know my mom with back problems would not be able to turn & reach it. Since they have just remodeled I have a feeling the TP issue will continue on. Would I stay there again? Yes as long as I could have a room tucked back in one of the little 'dead-ends' on the hallways.

Does anyone know if the Opryland Hotels have a 'membership'? The next meeting is next Nov in Grapevine TX.

Welcome Back, Glen :wave2:
Wondered what happened to you. We expect you to be a 'brother' to our sorority.....we already have a few. Believe me, you will enjoy it. Right now, there is some friendly rivalry going on between Yankee fans and Red Sox fans. FL and CHI are rarely mentioned, except by Bill and Lauren, who hail from Chi town. :3dglasses
Tell us about your journey to your new job....what took so long to get back to us? Several of us have been to the S/D since you were there in May. The Swan is completely renovated and the Dolphin is working from the bottom up. I read that they are on floor 7, is that right gang? Seems like they should be higher by now. Disfanrn is at the Dolphin right now and Disbug goes every month or two and keeps us informed. ::MickeyMo She writes great trip reports and her photos are fabulous.
Keep poppin' in and catch up with us!

I'm back! Finally I am all setup and rocking at my new job. I think I went AWOL the last day I was at WDW in MAY! and then again after I had to give up the university laptop in OKC.

Well I'm back and ready to start having fun again. What's UP?

Glenn
Just go back about 60 pages...and then some, and you'll be up to speed!! (LOL). Your ears must be burning, as I just mentioned you a few pages back. We were talking about old "regulars", whom have not been around in ages! Yup...you were included. SO GLAD to have you BACK!!

So...(ahem)...I take it you're a YANKEES FAN, RIGHT?!? :duck:

mouseteacher~Thanks for the nice post following mine on the "BUYER'S REMORSE" thread. You and I are always on the same page...especially when it comes to matters of the heart (what I consider a WDW vacation!). It is comforting to know there are others out there (YOU), whom "GET IT".

I'm almost "afraid" to watch the BALL GAME this eve, after what happened yesterday. Let's all pray for a FUN, competitive and uneventful game~!! GO TEAMS...may the BEST WIN! :wave2:

Welcome Back Glenn :)

I have had a baby since you have been gone :) Baby Kirk is 4 months old today :) Welcome back to the boards :earsgirl:

Hoping for a good game tonight, but still remaining un-bias and supporting both teams :)

Glad to have you back and hope the job is going well!

So the game is rained out tonight.:scratchin I think there could be a message in that! Hope the players get it and have a civilized demeanor tomorrow night.

I just can't believe what I saw last night. I still see Zimmer running out to the mound. I know his reason for being so upset over the "head threats" ... but what was he thinking to react that way? You are so right DF ... it is just a game. But I guess when you add in all those millions of dollars and the pressure and the excitement ... all good reasoning can be lost.:duck:

It is so nice to be involoved with this group of level-headed, intelligent, caring, Disney lovers!:grouphug:

WOW!!! ALL this BASEBALL talk and you guys are zipping through the pages...

Finally everything seems to be going back to normal...DD has felt better all weekend...the Zurg's back is doing alot better, and the doggie got her drain tube out today and I'm making an appointment for staple removal tomorrow...

I'm really having Disney withdrawal.....68 days seems why to long to wait. I spent hours on the computer today trying to plan a trip somewhere for Thanksgiving....LOL.....You'd think I was made of money....well if I were I'd be somewhere pretty quick....but right now I'm just dreaming....

Don't have much left to figure out for my Dec trip...well except trying to find out which room I have....

Have a nice evening...

AND, I LOVE YOU...JUST THE SAME! :goodvibes

Kelli~Ohhh... , your comments on the BUYER'S REMORSE thread are greatly appreciated! Your perspective is refreshing, as well. Escaping, is one of the things I do BEST while at WDW. I completely SHUT the rest of the World (w/exception to you guys!) OUT! I leave the troubles of day-to-day life behind, and even forget the day of the week or TIME, unless I ask someone. It's so cathartic, cleansing and enriching for the soul. Lately, I've been immersed in Auto insurance, New car Payments, and all the other riff-raff you mentioned. Without the world WALT created for all of us...I SHUDDER to think of the alternatives. The STRESS LEVELS we would all reach, and then (cringe) SURPASS. Argh! Thank you, again and again....MR. DISNEY. You are a KING among men, and your legacy has become the RELEASE for our inner children. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :sunny:

zurgswife~Thank heavens everything is looking better for you! So glad to hear DD & Doggie are both improving.

Dreaming...is the BEST way to prepare for a trip. 68 days will pass in a FLASH. Break-out the luggage, and begin the "essentials" packing! Your countdown clock is moving MUCH faster than mine! We are traveling to DL in November for the Halloween Haunted Mansion (Nightmare before Christmas) fun! Also...in late November...it SNOWS (A REAL MIRACLE here in So. CALI!).

Enjoy the eve....

Hi everyone-thankyou for all your well wishing and PD- it certainly worked! I am completely relaxed and happy here at the Dolphin.

I will tell Thabo hi from everyone- he is so good.

Zurgswife- I am glad to hear Zurg and the little Zurgette are doing better- now keep it that way!

Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom day- I love that place.

The laundry room at the Dolphin is very nice, I did several loads tonite, then picked up some rice crispy treats at Tubbis-wonderfully convenient and fun, not to mention yummy:)

Wishing everyone Happy Monday!!

DisRN - I forgot to ask..... Do they supply a Sharps container, or do you actually purchase it from them? I ended up hauling all of mine home with me - it would sure be easier to dispose of there!

Good morning to the sorority house! I was catching up on last night's posts. My posts have been short and limited b/c college DS is home for the weekend - he left his laptop at the dorm and overtook the family computer! So, I'm up early before he rises to see whazzup!!:teeth:

Glenn~ Please do fill us in on your life journey these past months. DH and I were at the Swan in July and had a magical time - the Swan was awesome. I hope to return next July. Please become a sorority brother - you don't have to wear heels===we promise!!!

Disbug~ your trip reports are the BEST!

zurgswife~ So glad all is stabilizing in the Z house/family.

disfanRN~ So happy to get your "live" reports!

:D A most handsome little guy -- a real cutie! Thanks for the visual update, Mom Poppins.

Hey, MomPoppins.......cutie patootie! You have a trip to look forward to. Lucky you. And it is not that far away.
To All.....be sure to go to mousesavers.com and read the trip reports. Mary was at the press event last week and has posted all the things that are coming up at Disney, including some special things they are going to offer to extended family groups. Many of you have gone with extended family. What fun that would be.
Can you believe that both of my children(who are grown) have asked for The Lion King and Finding Nemo DVDs for Christmas? I think they 'get it'!!! I need a copy too and am considering buying 3 of each!

Hi to everyone.

MP - That is truly awesome! I on the otherhand have been doing my darnest to reduce procreation posibility (long walks, tight fitting underwear, beer, bad breat, etc.) and still stay within the confines of my religion! Two is enough for now!

Mouseteacher - It has been a kinda strange trip, but worth it all in the end. I had to live out most of the summer away from the family (albeit the Westin in OKC) which was no fun. I have been getting my "new" old home (1918) up and running and sprinting to get ahead in research and teaching. Looks like I am finally there!

This place is truly awesome. I live 1/2 mile from work and have decided to sell my car - who needs it! Best of all -- all 4 of the the g-parents are now only 3 hours away. The facilities are fantastic and they (students & admins) treat you like royality. Really the best of all possible situations. I'm willing to bet most people would be shocked by what this school has when it comes to the B-school!!!!

Hey DF - I am a Reds fan so I will stay out of this one, but I do hate it when PLAYERS beat up on the elderly!

I'll look back (60 pages!!!) and see what's up, but ya'll are probably too quick for me (as usual) so don't be surprised if I ask something old. When is your next visit?

So - what is the pledging process?

I currently have reservations for Dec 16-20 at the $129 gov't rate. BUT - It looks like I'm not going to be able to use them.

Anyway, I loved the Flower and Garden festival so much last I think that I will opt for May sometime over 5/13-5/26. Any comments on these dates related to ...

*weather,
*crowds,
*events,
*hotel specific stuff,
*etc...

...will be greatly appreciated!!! I'm an educator and a home repair/landscaper so this is a perfect time for me!!! I bought one of the F&G ball caps last year that is for sure my new favorite. May have to start a collection!!!

I also have noticed that the teacher/gov't rate is not active on the spg site for April or May. Will they wait till Jan to make it active? Is this for some reason yet to be determined by S&D (conference)? Does anyone have this rate for April or beyond?

Anyone get the new platinum luggage tags ... very cool!

RobMax~ I have found that many times the teacher rate is not showing on the spg website but if you call the resort or spg directly they do. It happened to me last July - no show on the internet - no problem calling spg direct (we call spg rather than the resort b/c we were using cash and points promotion - a great deal btw).

Called SPG and got them to email me a confirmation on my Dec stay...go it no problem...then called Swan/Dolphin to see if I could find out where my room was....It has been assigned but no luck finding out where it was:yo-yo: Melissa woulnd't even give me a hint..:( ..Oh welll hope it is a great surprise...:teeth: :teeth:

Dog is headed to get staples remove tonight...YIPPEE....DD is not feeling well again..(Surprise there:rolleyes: )Though I'm getting here more blood tests done this week (She is not real thrilled with the taking blood idea..)...DH's back seems to be getting better....

I've been waiting on a DVC resale to go through for 29 days...tomorrow is 30 days(that is supposed to be the longest amount of time) Called both Disney and the Closing company today and neither have any indication when....really ticks me off that another DISer just had a identical price, same use year, and a few more points get aproved in 12 days....wouldn't you think mine would have gone through the process before his and I would have heard before he did.....I better hear by Wed....I'm going to be chomping at the bit.
