ok that new timeshare is a bit too tempting. Have been dying to go to atlantis but its too $$$$. Any info about the timeshares? Anyone know if they will be available for rental or ownership only/
does anyone know if any of the dolphin in renovated??

Muffinish: thanks for the info - that's exactly what I was looking for! Ozziewags: Hello! I lurk on this thread quite often - but I'm such a poor typist that I seldom post:( ! DF99: So sorry for your loss.

Rpsemont...When we were Gold (sounds like a song), we frequently requested and received a FREE/COMP rollaway for our room. This should not be a big issue, especially if you describe the situation. Of course, I would request a free upgrade to a Jr. Suite, and see if they are able to fulfill this request first. You will have PLENTY of room in this suite.

The FAR WEST WING is the closest to the Pool area. Ground floor has immediate access through the sliding doors, the upper floors are close also (side doors on the bottom floor).

On a FREE DAY...we LOVE FANTASIA GOLF!! In 1996, WDW opened Fantasia Miniature Golf which consists of Fantasia Gardens "The Hippo-est Golf Around" and Fantasia Fairways "A Miniature Golfing Adventure". The 2 courses are located behind the Dolphin on Epcot Resorts Blvd.

Hi guys,

Had some bad news today, took Chaddie for his routine checkup and yearly shots, and found out his back molar is cracked and he has an abcess in his gum. SO, tomorrow I am taking him to have his tooth pulled. I had noticed that he seemed not to be so lively this week, but he never acted like he was in pain and there was no smell. Look at his nice white teeth in the picture-that was just 4 days ago! Thank God I took him this week-we are leaving next Friday-the vet wanted to do this next Wednesday, but I begged him to do it tomorrow so he will be recovered and I can nurse him before he boards.

I hate the thought of him being in pain and having anesthesia-please all you animal lovers out there (dogs, cats, ants...)think a good thought about Chaddie tomorrow at 9:30am EST-I'll get to bring him home at 4.

Janet

My dog has had anesthesia several times now and never had a bad reaction to it. It seems like it is always something when you own a Shar Pei. They are not the healthiest breed and only have an 8 years life expectency. My Jake is 7 y/o and holding! I'm sure your dog will be ok. It's great that you caught his tooth problem before your trip! Give him a hug for me and best of luck at the vets!

just saying hello, schools are closed for snow day today. We are expected to get upwards of 12 inches here along RI coast. Snow is a nice treat but i'd rather be sunning myself at the dolphin.
Figured i'll use today to start going thru clothes for april's trip, both boys have grown considerable and will probally need all new clothes:(

Hi!! We're on our countdown now only 21 days left. My question is- I have the spg card but no points yet I called and got the # added on the ressies, I plan on asking for a free upgrade has anyone had any luck w/getting an upgrade when you just joined and have no points. I know its a hit or miss type thing w/upgrades. But I was just wondering. thanks!!!

Is there anyone that can help me with Starwood? I posted in another thread about having problems receiving points for stays and redeeming points. I requested an Avis gc the end of Oct and still have not gotten it. I have been in contact with cs three times now and this is the email I get:

Please be advised that due to a supply issue with Avis certificates there is a delay in the posting of the certificates. Your certificate will be processed as quickly as possible in the order in which it is received. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this delay.

I think I could be a little more understanding if I was told this after they said they would research it, but I wasn't. I emailed them today again and was finally given this info. In the other thread, I was given a name and there was a link. The link seems to go to the orginal form I filled out asking where the gc was last month, so I didn't want to use it and tick someone off on the other end. (since I've already emailed cs today) Is there any way to contact Barry S. Sternlicht,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer? Or is there someone else that is better suited to help me?

This is not the first time I have had problems, which makes it worse. Like I said in the other thread, I like to stay at the Dolphin, but I won't do it for the points anymore, and only if they have a really good rate. So many of you have such wonderful things to say about Starwood, but it seems that I keep falling thru the cracks.

alboq - I joined spg a month prior to our trip last August and also applied for and received AMEX card to add to the situation. I had no points and we booked in at the Dolphin tecaher rate. We did get a comp upgrade to CL.

Okay Mouseteacher,

I FINALLY got a code to check our reservation on the spg.com site and our reservation reads "Standard room with limited view". SO, I went through the Swan site and respectfully requested any upgrade if possible. They are supposed to reply within 72 hours, so the experiment continues! Do you think I should enter the request anywhere else?

Chaddie is home, groggy but fine. Soon as he walked in the door he found a toy, climbed to the top of our big upholstered chair and fell asleep. I'm sure he will be his old self by next Friday.

Mitla96
i got an acknowledgement of my request for CL stating they would put it on my ressie. I don't expect to see this show up on the website untill they actually assign rooms about 1 week prior to trip

Hi! Hope someone can help. I booked a room at the Dolphin using the teacher rate. Then I upgraded it to a resort view. My husband ordered the spg card. Is it silly to have the upgraded room? Should I go back down to the standard in hopes to be upgraded? Confusing???? Thanks for your help!!

THis past July I booked a standard room at the Dolphin at the Teacher's rate. I then e-mailed requesting a room on a high floor with an Epcot view. When I checked in, I asked if there was any chance of an upgrade. The woman at the desk read the request I had e-mailed and I got a room on the 11th floor with a view of Epcot, MGM, and the Boardwalk!

Mitla ~ I emailed my humble (LOL) request and received a polite e mail back within I believe (hard to remember) 48 hours. It simply said my request was noted and would know upon check in and availablity. I left it at that feeling that I did everything I possibly could according this thread and forgot about it. On the spg site, I, too, at first had the same room description: standard room non-view or something like that. About 2 weeks before our departure, for fun, I just checked my ressies on the spg site and lo there was a new room description!: CL description followed. I didn't have to wait for check in to ask again. If I didn't check the spg site I wouldn't have know. It was a wonderful surprise.

Mitla... ((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) to Chaddie.

Search has been up all day but I can't figure out how to search within this big, beautiful thread for specific things??? I was looking specifically for links to the renovated Swan rooms. I know I've seen several in here over the months but how do you search for them now? Any help would be appreciated, a friend wanted to see the make-over.

Hi

I have been trying to read everything & I'm a bit confused. I can get a pretty good rate, $162.00, lake view. I also just got a SPG membership #. Can I make my reservation directly with the Swan & inform them I am a SPG member? Is there a point to it if I don't have any points?. The credit card is free for the first year, but after that it is $30 & I hate to use my ss# online, is there anyway to apply by phone?

Just how nice is the Swan? I understand they have queen size beds, but the dolphin has doubles. How is the transportation?

You see I really wanted to stay at AKL, standard view, but that would cost $240. This is a really good savings, & saving money is really important. Has anyone stayed at both?

Can you tell I need lots of help!!!

TIA

DITTO! Sorry I missed this message, and was away yesterday. Hope Chaddie's feeling normal soon. So glad everything went well. ;)

What does CL mean? What should I ask for if I want more than a standard room - we have never stayed at the Swan before?
