New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

Great link. 20,000 tons may not seem like a lot, but it added 500 passengers. I noticed that the OLC/Tokyo order is roughly the same as the Wish class (I'm a purist and refuse to call it the Triton class when none of the ships bear that name).
Hasn't Disney actually referred to the class of the ships as "Wish-class" ever since the Wish was named? I know for the longest time they were referred to as three "Triton-Class" ships, but IIRC that was a code name for them prior to the naming of the Wish.

There is no such thing as “Triton” class of ships. “Triton” was the project name for the “Wish” class of ships.

The Wish’s (ship) blueprints confirm that the class of ships is called: “Wish”

This was also confirmed in the DCL Duo podcast.

I'm not sure how accurate that report is on the ship size. They don't list their sources, at least not as far as I could tell. Also the fact that it's such a round number makes me think it's at best directional.

But also interesting to note that 160k GT is not hugenormous. Ships from other cruiselines that are in that size range do not have a massive number of features like enormous waterparks and rollercoasters, etc.... those tend to be reserved for ships quite a bit larger. So if the 160k GT number is accurate, I wouldn't be surprised if these are more of a Triton+ type of category.

True, it's not humongous, but it's the displacement one and a half US Navy aircraft carriers with the air wing embarked

On a page I follow on the book of faces, someone just posted a YouTube video that was just released at the reveal that the Adventure will have a roller coaster! I'm guessing similar to what the Carnival Mardi Gras has??

Disney Adventure sure seems more Theme Park at sea with the Ship being the destination rather than port stops. It will make a very tempting thing to do if I find myself in Singapore or twinning with another country in South East Asia.

Certainly a different concept - would be surprised if the ship doesn't make at least one stop somewhere so people can have a beach day if they wish. There are a lot of islands in Thailand Im sure Disney could acquire in the future if they wanted something exclusive.

I think they've pretty well confirmed without explicitly saying that it will be just sea days and no port stops. Should get itineraries soon, but nobody's expecting any port stops at this time.

Sure sounds like the plan is just short 3 & 4 day cruises to nowhere. I do not think any port stops are planned at all from anything I have read thus far.

Honestly if they were allowed to do it I think they would do the same with a ship in the US. Why let people off the boat to spend money when you can keep all that spending on board?! But the PVSA prevents them from offering a cruise to nowhere from US ports since they are foreign flagged vessels.

OK with the dates I'm probably not planning to go on this until 2026.

December 2025 will be crazy popular especially since it's school holidays here in Singapore - I'd imagine it will likely be expensive (especially since first few sailings, high demand for travel that time of year), and probably difficult to book.

So I guess I'll aim to do this early 2026. Depends on the prices of course though...

Bummer. I had not heard that. I was hoping it would do a similar itinerary to RCCL 3 and 4 nighters out of Singapore with stops in Malaysia and Thailand. Or at least one.
