New CM Appreciation Cards: Cruise Edition!

Just to let everyone know that the CMs REALLY do appreciate cards and notes, especially those CMs in areas where they aren't tipped. It really lifts their spirits to know that someone has gone to some trouble to let them know they are appreciated..

Also if anyone has a Magical or Wonderful experience or comment about a CM, mention them BY NAME in your guest evaluation at the end of the cruise. Those comments go in their permanent record and also earn them special rewards determined by their department.

Okay, I need a little help with saving the WD font. I downloaded it and opened the zip file.

Do I just File Save it after the window opens with the sample font text at the bottom? It's saving it as a BMP file, not a TTF file--like most fonts, and it's not showing up in my fonts drop-down list.

I think I must have missed something along the way....can you guys help? Thanks!

P.S. Is the font on the cards the WD font? It says it is, but it doesn't match the sample text in the zip file.....just curious....AND CONFUSED!

I love these cards, but I can't seem to get it to work either. I think I have the same problems as Dcanoli. Please help.

Okay, I got the cards to work a little earlier today. Here's what I did. I went to the site: www.disneyexperience.com/fonts.htm, and they walk you through the steps of downloading, unzipping, and putting the font into action.

I could download and unzip, but I couldn't copy it to the folder like the posts above said. I followed the directions on the website above, and it worked fine.

I also went to Wal-Mart earlier in the week and bought a pack of business cards for about $3. If you go to www.avery.com, they will have the business card template available for download, and you can copy and paste the card images, etc. into the template.

Since the WD font is already selected, it should work fine. Let me know if you have any other problems, and I will try and help you out.

Sorry - just checked back. Dcanoli - Glad you got it all figured out. Cindy - if you follow Dcanoli's suggestions, I'm hoping you will have better success too.

I thought about the business card templates, but ended up just printing cut marks on the page for a few reasons:

1. The cards are a little bigger and the graphics fit better.
2. I like to use glossy paper because they print so well.
3. Its nice that people can use ANY paper and still cut out the cards easily.
4. I can usually cut them out using the cut marks and a ruler with a pen-knife faster than I can rip those preforated business cards, and the edges are nice and smooth when I cut them out as well.

Thats just my personal preference though...

And I got my cards all done, and can't wait to start passing them out on board in just a couple days! Of course, we will make a point of praising CM's in writing as well!

Tagrel, am I able to change the wording on the cards besides the address? I thought it would be nice to put my DD's name, address and e-mail on the cards to hand out to new friends that she makes on the cruise. I was trying to find a place to print up cards for her, but these are much nicer and I can do it at home. Let me know if it is alright.

So glad to hear everyone finally got the cards! YIPPEE!!

I was going to print mine out on photo/glossy paper too, but since I already had the b.c., I used them.....I'll have to try the glossy in the future.

T--I've already printed mine out too--and I'm not cruising until September! LOL! Better prepared than sorry! LOL!

However, I have one quick questions--how many do you normally use on a cruise?

Cindy - you should be able to change the text any way that you'd like. Color/size/font/content - all should be editable.

Dcanoli - this will be our first cruise, so I'm not sure HOW many I will need!
