New BOG Dinner Menu

All of you folks worried about your allergies: Don't be. When you make your ADR, mark that you have food restrictions.

When you arrive, mention it AGAIN to your server that you need to speak to the chef.

The chef will come to your table and go over your requirements and they will cook you an appropriate meal.

Disney is the BEST at accommodating food restrictions.

Not sure what world you live in, but I struggled to find prices that could justify a $55 price point under any circumstances.

Under any circumstances? What if they actually turned you into the Beast during dinner (temporarily of course). That’s gotta be worth the $55, right?

Are the plates huge? or are the servings quite small.
We have reservations for October but will most likely cancel. Only the filet or pork looks good to me, but the veggies the meat is sitting on does not look appealing to me at all.

For my family, it would be $265.00 (with tip) for the 4 of us, and we eat vegetarian, so I find that to be too steep for what we're receiving, Beast or no Beast. Plus, my youngest is just past the 9 year old cut-off, and he won't be interested in any of the adult options, so we'd be paying $55 for the mac & cheese, and even though I'm a huge fan of both pasta & cheese, $55 for mac & cheese is enough to make me cringe. So I guess at this point we won't be seeing the Beast. And that's fine. We'll still have a great time. I'm just commenting on what the changes will mean for us.

We’re in the same boat. We have an 11 and 14 year old who barely finish a kids meal in any restaurant. I’m sure we could certainly order them a kids meal and pay the adult price, but then it becomes even less of a value. Like you said, we can still have a great time. One of the things we love about Disney vacations is that they aren’t “one size fits all.” If we don’t think this is a good dining option, we have many (soooo many) others to choose from.

(Plus at lunch I can still get the cupcake and IMO cupcakes > Beast )

For us the desserts are part of the issue, because we almost very rarely get them with a meal, and which DH & I would not eat, but that issue exists with any fixed price meal, not just BOG. They're cute, but I don't want to pay for desserts I won't eat. I guess I'm the exact opposite of the cupcake people! I want to go to BOG and not get the grey stuff! is that even allowed?

not sure what sources you used, or what comparisons were attempted.

I used the wdwinfo.com dining page.

I searched for the same or similar items throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

I used individual prices when I only found the comparable dish one place.

I averaged (low) multiples of the same dish. I could have justified the value even more by using Jiko's $49 filet.

On one hand, I think that $55 price with an AP or TIW discount is fair for what they are serving. On the other, the kid’s meal price is rough. If you have kids with good appetites at the upper end of the age range, maybe there is a little value. But if you have kids below or around the age of 3, it’s a tough price to be OK with paying unless your child(ren) really love The Beast.

I’ll be interested to see what this does to ADR availability in the long run. I remember five or so years ago when Le Cellier was THE hot ticket. Then they went sig for dinner - and then lunch - and I can honestly say we stopped going (it had been an every trip for us in the past.) Ouf of curiosty, I looked for a week from now and found not one but two dinner slots for a party of 4 at LC. I suspect the same will happen at BoG - it will be interesting to see.

(TBH this change bothers me less than going from Version 1 to Version 2 of the menu - I STILL miss that macaroni au gratin.)

I'm sure BOG won't have quite as much demand as it previously did. Like Le Cellier, it will still be bringing in a lot more revenue than it previously did.

I can see this not being worth it if you have picky eaters (but I don't think the menu is out there at all) or kids who are Disney adults but don't eat that much. Luckily my kids aren't picky and would be very happy with the filet, pork or chicken dish. DD would like the pasta too. The apps aren't a problem and neither is the dessert.

The age factor is one of the reasons we do maybe one character meal a trip now. I can't justify $200 plus tip for a mediocre buffet. Even with characters. I almost died last trip when I paid the bill for Chef Mickey's and Ohana. But I'm ok with that. There are so many other places to eat at WDW. We just choose a different place.

Well we have a resie in Dec for a party of 4 and I have been trying to modify to a party of 5. Still no luck. I try about 5 times a day. No cancellations for my day then.

Le Cellier...we used to go all the time until it went signature. But we had tried to get an ADR there a few times with no luck until this past March. We tried modifying that too, to add 2 more guests and never could get it. I find Le Cellier sill hard to book.

According to Disney Food Blog's review:
Be Our Guest Restaurant made history as the first restaurant in Magic Kingdom to serve beer and wine, and of course that option remains. (Soda, milk, and other non-alcoholic beverages are included with your meal.)
