OK perhaps speculation is a bit more accurate. I knew I went out on a limb reporting this, but did so because I thought it could be an important link to the information. Notice, I did say I thought the idea was a little wacked.
With the shoe on the other foot..what IF it did turn out to be Marriott and I KNEW for Months about the similarities. How would all you dissers feel if I kept you in the dark? Hmmm.... I put it out there for discussion.
I'm sorry to the DISSER who is also now fed up with the rumor mill because of this speculation.
Hmmm, now I know why we started getting free wi-fi as DVCers...to bring it in line with what Marriott hotels were already offering for free!![]()
Except we don't get free wi-fi. We get free wired internet. Wi Fi still costs money.
(And the full service Marriotts charge an averge of $10 a day for internet, it's not free. It's free at their lower priced properties.. So using the Marriott model, we will pay and the All Stars will be free)
However, if it was a Marriott we would have better bed quality!
That feature has been part of the building design dating back nearly 2 years to concept artwork leaked on the Internet:

If Disney had an agreement to merge with Marriott, they wouldn't have kept it quiet this long.
And the two designs don't look all that similar, IMO.
Kinda stretching the definition of "rumor" here, aren't we?![]()
DVC is one of Disney's biggest cash cow's right now. The last thing they are going to do is turn the reigns over to Marriott. And I think its safe to say that after almost 40 years, Disney also knows the hotel business. Perhaps they even know it better. I mean if Disney can convince guests to pay Ritz prices for Marriott service and amenities, then maybe Marriott could learn something from Disney.....
Oh and the thingy on top of the building is just a facade to cover the motors for the elevators...
Well, if this tower turns out to be DVC, I will definately try to book at 7 months.
CR used to hold no appeal to me ... but now that I have 2 little ones who LOVE the MK, the location can't be beat. I love the monorail as well, so that is definately a plus. I can picture us in a Bay Lake view ... we don't need to see the castle from our room.
I've been wanting to add on. I told DH about the rumors on point price for BLT. Now, I have the green light to add on BWV.I guess the high price for BLT will help sell the others.
I think you are right. We have been discussing all the "what if's" and we are starting to think about back up plans (tranlates-where to add on instead of at BLT)
Re: $140/point.
What if DVC offered BLT with a guaranteed MF cost of at least $1/point/year cheaper than AKV.
They could use "Disney Math' and say you will save at least $50/point lifetime, thus BLT is worth the premium over AKV selling in the $90's (with incentives)
