New Bare Minerals wearer...

...is wearer a word?? Anyway- I got my Bare Minerals last week while I was on vacation from work. I went to work today and I kid you NOT.... at least 5 people told me how good I looked...new highlights? Nope... Lost weight? Not for a month or so..... Seriously, besides a little curling iron, the only different thing is my make up. I felt like I was in an infomercial!!!

I Bare Minerals! It's the only makeup that doesn't give me hives, and it feels like you don't have any makeup on at all. Great stuff!

I used bare minerals for the first time at work today. I was also off last week so this was the big premier . One coworker said I looked younger . Another one asked if I was pregnant because I was glowing . I came home and weighed myself to see if it was really my "glow" she was referring too!

Can someone give me a brief refresher course about this makeup? Is it just foundation?

Right now I have gotten to the point of wearing no makeup here. It is kind of pointless when it is 90ish degrees everyday...

Yes! It does not "melt" liquid liquid foundation. If your face sweats, of course, it will degrade somewhat, but it is better than using a liquid.

However, the "basics" are the mineral foundation, followed by a "blush" of sorts or a bronzer, and then topped of with Mineral Veil, which is a light powder that sets it all. All the rest are extras!

Also as I turned 41, liquid foundation just does not look "good" on me anymore. I don't know what happened there.

When I bought my starter kit last month, it did not come with the mineral veil. Is the mineral veil, what keeps the face from looking shiny? It's not too shiny shiny but still there is shine on my forehead. Also Im not big on the bronzer or "blush" everywhere personally. I just put it on accenting areas because I look even younger if I do the all over.

Also, what do you think about well-rested or some other coverup. I have been reluctant to put on a cream based cover-up that is going to show up more with such light make up. Do you have any suggestions? TIA

Wow, I cannot believe that your kit did not come with the Mineral Veil--that stuff is the STAPLE of BE, I swear. Yes, the Mineral Veil kind of sets everything and evens it up. I think it is my favorite product and could just use the Mineral Veil without the foundation. It will help with the shine.

I did buy the Well Rested for under my eyes and I think it made them look worse. It had a bit of a "sheen" to it and it accentuate the "crinkles" under my eyes (I'm 42 so I have these!!). It may work much better on someone who is younger or whose skin is not as dry. Since I can't use it under my eyes, I am mixing it in with my foundation--can't let it go to waste.

I used a cream based concealer from Sheer Cover. It is a bit on the greasy side and smooths out easily which is why I stick with it. If you have oily skin you might not like it.

I love bare minerals! I have had people tell me how perfect my makeup looks, and it really isn't makeup at all! I buy mine at the Bare Minerals store in teh MOA.
