New Bare Minerals wearer...

Warmth is NOT a bronzer!!!

Oh, geez, sorry. I'm just trying to explain it somehow. It's not really a blush either. Not sure what it is, but I'm sorry, sorry, sorry....please don't yell at me. :teeth:

I wasn't yelling :) It's just even Leslie Blodgett says it's not a bronzer, nor does it wear like one. Can't help it, I grind my teeth when people refer to warmth as a bronzer :)

I hate warmth and rarely ever use it. I have some mineral veil and use it sometimes.

Bisque is a really nice concealer. I have terrible undereye circles and I use lauren Hutton face disk for concealer and spot concealer. It has a great blush (the best I have ever used) and an eyebrow powder that can not be beat for finishing up those brows. Don't forget those eyebrows!!! (They'll make you or break you IMHO)

Well, believe it or not, this is how the Warmth works for me, so I guess that's my best definition of it. It is really too dark for me, so after applying my foundation, I shake the Warmth jar up so that a *little* film of powder coats the lid. I take the foundation brush (not the kabuki) and lightly touch it into this and sort of lightly brush the stuff on my cheekbones, forhead, and chin, and it sort of gives me that tanned glow. I then cover with Mineral Veil (which takes the orangey look right out of the Warmth), and then move on. So, I use it like I have used bronzers in the past and that is the color it gives me--kind of a tan look to my face.

I can't wait until may 5 when QVC has their special show!! Gonna buy more!

So will the QVC show have better deals than what it on the website?

Sounds like everyone here has their own favorites.
So what is your essentials and what don't you ever use?

Not usually. The QVC store at the MOA does carry the BE starter packs, but at the BE store at the MOA you can only get full size containers.

I turned 50 last month and Bare Minerals was the FIRST foundation I EVER used.... yes, FIRST!

I never liked the look of foundation, and frankly, never really needed it. After reading about the raves of this stuff on this board, I wandered into an Ulta Store and had my face made up. The lady next to me had been there for awhile and I thought I'd be there long, alsom but the lady had be matched up and done in about 2 minutes! I couldn't believe how close the color was to my own color and never believed they'd be able to match up African American skin so perfectly.

I went to work the next day and the makeup artist that works on the actors and actresses in our productions gave me a strange look. She had told me she wanted to do my face one day and wanted to do it as a birthday present. I giggled and told her I tried Bare Minerals! She nodded and said "isn't it AWESOME????"

She and another co worker told me they both suffer from rosacea and I NEVER KNEW IT! Their skin looked flawless. Both wear Bare Minerals. And note, she has access to any makeup at all and she uses it on all of her clients!

I only use the medium foundation and sold the rest on eBay. It paid for my whole kit! LOVE THIS STUFF!

:guilty: I know I must be doing something wrong. I ordered $200 worth of BE and was so excited when it came. I used it just the way I was supposed to, followed directions and...I just didn't like it. I wanted to, b/c all of you have talked about how wonderful it is. I have since used it 4 more times, and again, I really can't get used to it. I don't like the "look" of it...
It is taking me about 25 minutes to apply, whereas my regular make up takes 10-15, depending on time of day.
Any suggestions anyone could give me would be much appreciated. I don't want to send it back. BTW, I used to be a make-up artist, so I do know my way around a lot of make up...maybe I am over analayizing the whole process??

My guess is you are using too much. You should not look or feel like you have makeup on. It should look very natural. That's the part I like best about it, and I am nearly 60! The older we get, the worse lots of makeup looks. This stuff looks and feels much better than true foundations etc. It did take me awhile to get used to how little is actually needed. I did have an advantage in having the store to go to, since they teach you how to apply it there.

Yeah, what Dianeschlicht said. If it's taking you that long and you feel it on your skin, you are using WAY too much.

Applying it correctly is the most important thing. It takes some practice, too.

With the lid on, turn the container upside down. Give a tap, then right side it and tap again. Open it and turn the lid over. Swirl the brush into the powder in the lid, working the powder into the brush. Tap it on the side of the lid, then apply by swirling it onto one of your cheeks. Repeat the process, next swirling it onto the other cheek. From the cheeks, fan out to cover your forehead, nose and chin. Use a small amount at a time and buff (swirl) it very well into your skin.

Congratulations to all you newbies! I love BE and am amazed at how well it works for so many women.

My 16 year old dd is wearing it now too! She likes it and I am hoping it will help clear up her skin. It's hard when you first start to STOP applying- I know I was looking for that "mask" look that "normal" make up gives you. after a week and half, I feel more like I have the "hang of it" :thumbsup2
