New AP discounts starting Febr 6th, 2014 - limited time

I have to be honest, I am really disappointed with this. I was hoping to actually SAVE some money... not give them $20 more per person for perks I don't need/want.

I just wish they would knock off $20 for regular AP's

I know I may get flamed for this, but whatever. And I know I don't have to buy these new passes, but I am just tired of this game. Give me a real discount, not a cheap ploy to get even more out of me because you can trick me into thinking "it's only $20 more, why not?"

Super irritated right now. I let myself get too excited for this, and I guess I set myself up for failure. We weren't able to purchase the amazing $399 deal last year, so I was really hoping for some actual savings to be announced.

Is there still just the regular AP discount? Or would that be same price as PAP?

Don't see regular AP listed anywhere.

All this excitement. I need to get to bed but I'm too wound up!!

I think the pass to WDW/DL is too pricey for us. We too are looking at tinkerbell & wine and dine to get our coast to coast medals. But we can just skip going into DL or go only one day for that price! Yowza. I'm thinking the People who benefit from that one are the people who live in Ca, usually buy the DL AP but also visit WDW.

I am semi interested in the other pass bc it comes at only 20$ more than what the old discount was. But we already have "plain" APs and with such young kids I'm not sure we'd get the value (going to water parks..). I'm intrigued by Disney quest but again, not sure it's for kids our kids ages.

We have to buy at least one more AP anyway, so I'll definitely be doing some thinking before 4/30!

When I just did the math it doesn't make sense to do the Premier so we'll just stick to the PAPs and buy DL tickets if we end up going. Our daughters are young but love water parks so DH was set on getting the PAP other the AP. I was trying to convince him to downgrade and then we can buy tickets to Universal for the same price to see the new Harry Potter but now we'll get to do it all for the amount we already budgeted.

I don't see it listed anymore on the member website but when you go thru my Disney experience to add tickets it gives me the option of the AP for $464 or the PAP for $584. The new options will be able to be purchased online in February but I would hope the AP would still be a choice for those who want it.

Not meaning to complain but I wish they wouldn't do these discounts for such a limited time. We are thinking of a DL trip next year and would love the premier AP for both parks. The problem is you have to buy it in person. I'm not going to the parks before April 30th. That is a lot of money to put out unexpectedly.

+1. I wish it was longer, too.

I like the deal on the PAP. For $20 more, we pick up the minor parks. This is perfect timing for us as relatively new DVC members, we are looking to branch out of the major parks and this makes a difference. Gotta admit, I didn't expect any further ticket discounts, I figured that the $399 price a while back wasn't going to make financial sense for Disney. Glad to see I was wrong.

Thanks whoever made this decision at DVC/Disney.

Just purchased our DVC Annual Pass renewal two days ago on January 28th. Paid $394 plus $25.61 tax for a total of $419.61. Premium would have been something like $520 or so.

Haven't been on the DVC site yet but it does sort of look like they are offering a new discount on the Premium Pass renewal while raising the price on the "regular" annual pass renewal?

I know what you mean about not really saving money; but it will help out some.

We got a Disney glitch in our favor when we first bought our passes, so it's not worth it to is to try another one-- it's actually better to just Renew it next year when it expires if we think we need another AP.... Well, as long as they don't do away with the discount all together in 2015!

So when you buy the pass, can you can wait to activate it till your trip? We go in October, and only for a week. I think we come out cheaper just doing hopper tickets. Unless we went a week earlier the next year.

Is the basic AP still the same price? I only see a price on the WDW site, not at DVC member. This makes it sounds like there is special pricing on ALL THREE APs. It from member news and updates

New Annual Pass discounts available through April 30, 2014
Theme Park ticket discounts are the most-requested of all Member perks, and Disney Vacation Club is thrilled to deliver on that request with three Annual Pass discounts available for purchase starting February 6 through April 30, 2014.

Eligible passes include the Walt Disney World Premium Annual Pass (unlimited Park hopping at all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks, two Water Parks, parking and no blockout dates),
......

We are in the camp of cheaper APs would be best for us.

Ok I thought last year when I bought the voucher deal for the PAP it was like 425 ? now it is 484. I think I will pass and look into the Fl seasonal AP. Does anyone know if you can renew the PAP for the seasonal one. Thanks. Also I do not see a link to the regular AP discount?

I wish I would have written down how much the DVC discount was for PAP renewal yesterday when I checked, as I don't see that mentioned in the new offer. Maybe when they activate the button for "purchase an AP now" on Feb. 6 more info will show.

Either way, it's something. Not the great deal from a couple of years ago; I wasn't expecting anything special again....and was just happy that they were still offering the usual DVC member discount for AP's and PAP's. DVC is not obligated to offer members anything like this. For years they did not. We couldn't even purchase the DDP.

Renewal prices (incl. tax) for DVC APs are 419.61 and PAPs are $526.11. If we decide to go with APs, I think it makes more sense for us to go with AP renewal instead of this deal. Either way, assuming prices remain the same, once you add tax, this deal comes to $515.46, so for $10.50, I don't see any reason to rush to renew our APs early (our current ones are good until December).

Since you live in New Hampshire, at least according to your DIS profile. you are not a FL resident. DVC members do not have access to FL Seasonal passes unless they also reside in FL.

I did get the PAP last year when it was $399+tax, but I purchased it for the 20% park merchandise discount. Now that it is 10%, like a regular pass, I plan to downgrade to a regular AP when I renew. A PAP is not worth it for me, as I don't use the water parks, nor do I play golf.

So if I just upgraded park hoppers to DVC APs for approx $500 per a few weeks ago,I should then be able to upgrade those to premium for free or just a few dollars w tax right ?

It has to be activated by Jan 30, 2015.

Not necessarily. When they ran the special at the end of 2012 they would not upgrade my regular AP, they sold me a voucher at the special price to use upon renewal.

Yes we do have residence in Fl, bought a condo last spring so will be spending less time at Disney, with the new FP+ magic band thing. Yes I too got the PAP last year (for 20% discount too and have not used water parks part either yet), well end of 2012, activated in May and would either renew for regular AP but can't even find the prices or link on site today to compare? so thinking if possible renew as a seasonal Fl AP

I wonder why the WDW AP discount is on the Premium pass, with no blackout dates, while the DLR AP discount is on a pass with blackout dates?

My timing stinks. Just got my DL AP for this year and used it for one day.

And this year I have a long WDW trip planned in addition to our normal DLR trips, so a Premier pass would actually make sense. But it looks like I can't upgrade out DL APs, and getting a voucher for next year doesn't help since we only get to WDW once every few years, with this being the year!
