See that cute little boat there? That is a water mouse! Very fun, very safe, right? Well, Y-E-S and N-O! One afternoon the family teenagers decided to go out boating together, my DD14 being one of said teens.... She is not as familiar with boating as the others, seeing as how I only let her drive things with 2 wheels, with an occasional practice lap in an empty parking lot. Apparently no one discussed the proper procedure for "crossing another boat's wake" before allowing her to strap on a life jacket and take the wheel in hand. These things are cute, but they ARE boats, speed boats to be exact.
She was executing a turn while crossing over her cousin's wake, when another boat added their wake and WHAMO! over she goes, boat and ALL! Her rendition of the tale included the rescue by the cute lifeguard in the Boston Whaler! Well, she was brought on board and her boat towed back to the WL marina. She was told this happens "all the time"

(WHAT?? I'd never go out if I knew this was a regular "thing"!) She seemed unhurt by the incident and more concerned about losing her LifeSaver Winto green mints than anything else.
At the time she was visiting her cousins at the WL as we were still over at the SWAN. I was surprised to find her in our room when I came back from the pool, and in wet clothes to boot! Apparently she was so embarassed by the episode, she just got on a bus and came back without telling any of the adults, who were on a "manhunt" for her when they heard she had "flipped her boat"! WOH! This was quite the topic at our Monday evening meal at OHANA's. So now you know.... the "REST OF THE STORY"!
