I am so excited that you broke the 30 day mark. As you know we are arriving just as y'all are leaving. Your trip coming closer just makes me that much more excited for our trip. Hope to see y'all there.

5th floor is non-smoking, 6th floor, north wing is smoking and has enclosed balconys.

I love your idea about setting a chat room time. The last couple of time I went on, there was no one there. What does everyone think?

Glad to hear you had a great time . Nice upgrade on the room, looking to hear more of the trip on later posts.

Great pictures! They haven't gotten us so excited! Can't believe it's almost here. YEAH!!!

mommie2angels, you'll be leaving soon. Have a safe trip and a great time. Enjoy every minute.

I can't wait until the van is packed and ready to get on the Turnpike yippeee. I just pray for a safe drive, the van runs well and I know once we park, the rest is up to Disney. I have no worries there.

On DH' and my drive back from our cruise in April, the vans tranny went. That was not a good end to a wonderful cruise. The tranny was replaced, so I just don't want anything else to go wrong.

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful Disney night.

Diane

hello all lodgers,

have a wonderful disney day. :D

Welcome to FL and have the time of your life. God's speed and PD

ARE TOO MUCH! THANK YOU, KIMMAR! THANK YOU, COPPER!

A double recommendation for "WL Vet" status! You bet I'll continue to drop in. I love this thread! (I am also partial to the Swan/Dolphin FAQ thread... but I know that is okay. They are kindred spirits!)

I am really appreciating all the especially nice things that go on here! And as such, I have one more story that I didn't tell on Disbugs Grand Adventure... that I am saving just for this thread since it involves the WL!

We were on the 4th floor and it was non smoking, but I think the 3rd & 5th floors are also non smoking. If I recall correctly, it is the 6th floor that IS smoking. You are safe with 3rd, 4th or 5th.

 Ok, that answer was for a question way back in the line up. I'm just a little late.

See that cute little boat there? That is a water mouse! Very fun, very safe, right? Well, Y-E-S and N-O! One afternoon the family teenagers decided to go out boating together, my DD14 being one of said teens.... She is not as familiar with boating as the others, seeing as how I only let her drive things with 2 wheels, with an occasional practice lap in an empty parking lot. Apparently no one discussed the proper procedure for "crossing another boat's wake" before allowing her to strap on a life jacket and take the wheel in hand. These things are cute, but they ARE boats, speed boats to be exact.

She was executing a turn while crossing over her cousin's wake, when another boat added their wake and WHAMO! over she goes, boat and ALL! Her rendition of the tale included the rescue by the cute lifeguard in the Boston Whaler! Well, she was brought on board and her boat towed back to the WL marina. She was told this happens "all the time" (WHAT?? I'd never go out if I knew this was a regular "thing"!) She seemed unhurt by the incident and more concerned about losing her LifeSaver Winto green mints than anything else.

At the time she was visiting her cousins at the WL as we were still over at the SWAN. I was surprised to find her in our room when I came back from the pool, and in wet clothes to boot! Apparently she was so embarassed by the episode, she just got on a bus and came back without telling any of the adults, who were on a "manhunt" for her when they heard she had "flipped her boat"! WOH! This was quite the topic at our Monday evening meal at OHANA's. So now you know.... the "REST OF THE STORY"!:teeth:

 Yikes!!! I won't be going out on the water in one of those boats. I have enough trouble driving a car.

I guess the moral of the story should be.... not that the boats themselves are unsafe, but the drivers might need a little more instruction from the lifeguards before being turned loose!

water craft can be fun, but you have to know what you are doing, and we don't! My DS (now 23) rented some kind of boat when we stayed at the CBR back in '91 (he was 12?) and we thought it was safe enough, but he ended up "beached" somewhere and they had to get him out of the sand and back into the water. He made it back to the marina safely, but what a trip he had! We also rented a pontoon (sp) boat and we had a good time with that because it was big and s l o w! Of course at that time, it was $25 to rent anything you wanted , as much as you wanted, for the entire week! I think it is $25 for 1/2 an hour now.
Ah those were the days...............:earsgirl:

When I came on this thread I didn't go back and read from the beginning, I just picked up on the page it was on, so I missed alot of information. I will have to go back sometime and try to catch up. Those are your two girls in the picture? Any other children?

Hey, I was looking for you!!! I remember that story. We never rented any boats, was that the same trip that we met your DS on the monorail?

I had hoped to post the SWAN threads individually on the Trip Reports board whenever my family sends me some more pictures! (My photos were a little disappointing, due to inexperience with the digital camera!) The very first post of "Disbugs Grand Adventures" has the links to the pages they are located on the SWaN / Dolphin FAQ thread... you just have to scroll down until you see a post from Disbug! Thanks for your interest... We had quite a time!

The girl on the left is my DD8 about 2 years ago, the girl on the right is her cousin. One of the pictures in the post for the MK for Day 6, has the exact same pose for these two from this trip!

I also have DD14 and DD2! Thanks for asking!:p

:) Wow, you have three girls! That could be expensive. I have one DD, and two DS, but the DD has cost me way more than the two DS!!! Girls just seem to need (or want) more
I took my digital camera on my last trip, and due to inexperience, I came back with blur instead of pictures. I had accidently set some button, without knowing, b/c everything looked great in the viewfinder, but when I viewed the actual pictures, they were just blurr. Thank heavens I had a regular camera with film, and those pictures were great. Lots of pictures of the lodge!:teeth: I would love to figure out how to get them on here, but I am about as good with the computer as I am with my digital camera! I will definitely check out the Swan threads ! Thanks!!

If you have already developed your photos, they can be scanned into your computer with a scanner. If you know a pro, they might even have a film negative scanner! I don't know if you can get them put on a CD at Walmart or someplace like that once you've had them developed.... If not, I'd say go to a photo shop and ask. I know when I have my pictures developed from my 35 mm, it only cost me $3 extra to have them put on a CD as well as the prints!
