...that Q-T is Orlando Bloom from POTC and who plays Legolas in LOTR......

You think being married 15 years and having 2 daughters would have taught me not to mess with the Gals also.........guess I'm a slow learner.....LOL.

ooooh, Kimmar, I love that new BIG picture of Hugh!!! What a cutie!! keep posting them!!!

Going to WL in a few days and thought I would be a poster that actually posts while there. Like Fred! I will let everyone know about the weather, crowds, rooms, transportation, maybe a few pictures, etc...
Now I don't really know about much since never been there but hey,, different perspective! From a newbie!
We are qualified to post since we do have annual SouthernCalifonia passes to disneyland (we live 25minutes from DL)
We will be at the Lodge from 10/5-10/12. then on the boat for 4 nights.
If your see us we will be a short couple with a 5yr son & 2yr daughter, say HI!.

Welcome, the only qualification needed here is to love the Lodge and WDW. Looking forward to your reports.

Great pictures Majestic, my ds and dd are getting real excited about our big trip to the Lodge in 37 days.

Hey, my dw pointed out that the new Disney feature animation "Brother Bear is going to be released Nov.1 and was wondering if the WL is going to join in the fun. All the characters fall right into its wilderness theme. What do you all think?

welcome to the WL Home Chicken... you'll have to look for Fred's memory box while you're there. I'm not going to be at the WL for another 1.5 years, but that's why I read this thread now~~~ to get all the information and perspective about the Lodge that I can possibly soak in!! have a great time!

kimmar~ going to go play for a few days! Anybody need any info brought back? I am going solo the first part of the week, then family will join for MNSSHP next weekend.... Can't wait! Doing a little recon work for future "Missions"! (translation: large family type vacations!) Sometimes known as Mission Impossible, right Fred?

I hope I remember to print the "box" directions out before I do, better do that now before I forget!

Will post when I return.

Happy day to all... stay dry all, it's wet here in Florida!

You can say THAT again! :teeth:

Don't forget to find the box! Print those directions if you haven't already then don't forget to bring them!!! :)

That would be great since they quit having Charactor meals at WL. Keep our fingers crossed.

Welcome to you HomeChicken and also HarborWhaler! I enjoyed posting my trip reports in real-time but...the last few days got hectic and I found myself with no time and NO NOTES! So...I ended up with no reports for the last 2 days but will try to get around to them someday.

Just remember, we'll still be here when you get back! :)

One thing that I am very excited for you about is the fact that you are a WL virgin. The feeling I got when I first walked through the front doors....ahhhhhh.....will never forget it. I still feel that way to this day everytime I go there. Suck it all in. Time flies and before you know it, you'll be back home.

Enjoy!

Fred

Lot of us WL VETS just returned from the Lodge. Go to the Trip reports thread and get a lot of good feedback, if you have not already done so.

Majestic, did you see the Bear?
Bummer, was going down to check the box yesterday, rained all day, got up this morning and still coming down.

Hey FloridaCat, I'm looking but can't see the bear. Is the shape in the water or part of the building structure? Please advise shipmate...

1st off I just re-organized the pictures into different folders. Now that I paid for the upgrade I can do that. :)

There is now a night time shots folder and a balcony view folder.

Kimmar, what room was your balcony view from?

Thanks to Bear Necessities for sending in balcony views!! I added them this AM. Also, thanks to RugRatsMom for sending pics. I am working on hers and will hope to get them loaded up later today!!!

As for the bear, he's there!! I can see him in Tim (Ratpacks) night shot of the falls too. Just look towards the top of the roof. You should see two triangle shaped windows. Those are the eyes. Then look down a bit and towards the center....there is another triangle that makes the tip of the nose. From there on, the shape of a bear's head should come to view. Use a little imagineering as well!

I LOVE that view!

Wish I could go out on the water one night to get the same view. It's probably pretty good from there. Alas, no boats at dark unless you do a fireworks cruise I think.

Ahhh....IT'S FRIDAY! :)

Majestics site.

Row 4
Column 3

It is the back of the Lodge. The Tee Pee light in the middle of the window is his nose and mouth area. The small lights on either side is his eye's. The window frame running across is his mouth The two cuplas on top is his ears. Although some thinks it looks like his hat.

The magic of it is the shadows and reflection of the brown interior helps shape his head. The best spot we found to view it was down by the Trout Bar. You have to move until you have the eyes lined up. It must take some imagination as some could not see while standing there. DD, DGD & I had no trouble.

The best effect is just before the picture shrinks, but you can hit the enlarge button.
