Ratpack-I am so jealous that you are down to 14 days! Can you believe it?!
You are 20 days ahead of me :(
These last 30 days are going to seem like a lifetime.

I am still trying to decide whether to ask for a bunk bed room or 2 queen bed room in my fax request.
The kids want bunkbeds, but after reading about how you cant really watch tv well in them and the darkness I am thinking 2 queens would be better. Plus its more space for us to plop down on when we are exhausted. And one more place to put all our stuff!

I dont know. Its getting so close and I feel like I have a million things left to do/buy. Never wanted to it before because the trip seemed so far away. But now that its a month away, I am like "crap, I've got to get all this stuff done!!"

Ack! Just over 2 months for us....14 days for RatPack!!! I have envy of THAT clock! It's just a disease!!

It may make you feel better that soon yours will be the one WE are envying. :) After this vacation we are doing a disney cruise so it will be like 300+ days again for MY countdown.

Of course, for now, I am enjoying the 60 or so days that I see and love the fact that it is getting closer and closer. We can't wait!!!

Beth,
Great pictures, thanks for sharing. I love the little "arrgh" pirate.
I understand completely about checking the countdown clocks. I'm trying real hard to fight off severe countdown clock envy, especially those belonging to RatPack and Majestic.

I'm jealous of all of you too! My trip has come and gone :(

I'm waiting for AP rates and hopefully I can talk DH into going in December. Now THAT would be nice.....2 trips within 7 months :)

When I got down to 20 days on my clock, I created a "Disney Chain Countdown" for my DS. Each link had characters from a different movie/show. Every morning he would wake up and the first thing he wanted to do was cut a link, then he would count how many were left before we went to Mickey's House.

I have had a countdown chain since 88 days out. I didn't think that chain would ever get any shorter, now I can hang it from the door handle.

LOL!

That's a BIG chain! Where did you store it?!?! Er, I should ask, how big are the links? I couldn't even hang mine from the door handle until I was down to 10 days :)

Don't worry. We'll all be there too after our trips. I got through a serious amount of depression after I get back. It actually starts setting in during checkout. :(

Anyway...no time to think of that now! :P

I love your idea of the chain!! My 2 year old (turning 3 in September) will LOVE it! Thanks for the tip.....

Fred

Oh my Gosh, my depression started settling in after I was done with all of the planning!

Check out day is always the worst! During this trip, take notice of the people sitting outside the lodge waiting to be taken home. 90% are certainly NOT smiling!

If you want, I can email you the chain. It's in a Word document. Nothing fancy....

I have two windows in my home office and I draped it across both window rods and left a little hanging down to remove from. Once it got to the point of being too short to do that, I hung it from one rod and now I can hang it from the door. I am looking forward to throwing that last link away!!;)

ok, you guys are really making me home sick for wilderness lodge. i have been checking in on the posts and i wanna go.

crazy thing though, the past two nights i have been dreaming that we were on vacation at wl. a dream is a wish your heart makes, huh?

anyway, my dh and i were planning on driving over to wdw either tomorrow or saturday and visiting the parks anyway, now i want to stop in at wl and just walk through the lobby for a few minutes. hey, i could always stop by whispering canyon and take home a couple of pieces of their triple chocolate moose stampede cake (an obsession of mine). that might be a plan.

hope your vacations come soon, mine too (although i am waiting until december). and i hope they are all magical. :D

Yes....PLEASE do go to Whispering Canyon and have something wonderful for me...........We were to have gone 5 weeks ago and I had to cancel our reservations two days prior and go in for surgery. The surgery was not successful and I am now waiting for a total knee replacement followed by a month of therapy before I can even think of getting back to the lodge........Knowing yoiu were enjoying something neat there for me would make me very happy........;) Here's hoping that before too long you will see my post that we have rebooked:Pinkbounc :bounce:

LouAnn, hope that everything works out ok for you. I will be thinking of you.

Sounds like you need the "TAG FAIRY" to sprinkle a little pixie dust on you. :) That outta make it all better. :)

Fred

:D Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.......I am feeling the dust already.........There....that"s better;) I appreciate your kindness, Fred.:D

hi lou-ann,

i will think of you and keep you in my prayers. wishing you some pixie dust also.

my father recently had a total knee replacement and the doctors told him he would be laid up and in therapy for six weeks. well, he wound up leaving the hospital only after three days and he only needed two weeks of physical therapy. he is in pretty good shape he trys and swim every day. that is what might have helped him. well, i am really hoping your next surgery goes well and hoping it turns out to be a great recovery even better than my fathers. hoping you can get to wdw sometime soon. don't stop believing. :D

Jeanne,
What a sweet note. I am so happy to hear of your dad's successful surgery. I pray that I could be half as lucky. I also have diabetes which slows down the healing process and fibromyalgia so I may not be as ideal a candidate for surgery as your dad was but I am going into this with a positive open mind and my eye on checking into the Wilderness Lodge when it is all over whenever that may be. It means so much to hear from such kind folk as you and Fred are here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.:D

Here's my wish for you..........I hope you beat me to the WL by several months and that you're able to show off that knee strolling on the paths, listening to the crickets and that you can hop right on and off the boat to the MK.
You'd think I'd actually been there, wouldn't you? Not yet, but I can't wait to earn my WL veteran status.
I love the chain calendar idea, really clever! I may have to try that.
I love the picture in Majestics sig line. Isn't Fred " hooked up" with 2 cuties. Is Ratpack flying or driving to the World?
Kathi

Oh, I am soooo jealous of all of you. We hit the 60 day mark today so I have a question. We have breakfast PS at MK at 8:05am(at Crystal Palace, couldn't get Cindy's). Can you give me a timeline to insure we get to the gate on time. For instance "be at the boat/bus? at 7:??, get to the gate by 7:?? then they will let you in around ?? to walk to CP. We want to get there in plenty of time. Looks like we'll be back out on Main St. before the ropes drop at 9.
Thanks!!

Swampkatz - I am driving to the World. I try never to fly unless it is absolutely necessary. So in just 14 + days I will be zipping through your area on I-77, I'll beep my horn as I go by.

Blue Fairy - Try again tomorrow for CRT, don't give up. You can try everyday as long as the 60 day mark falls in your stay. If today was the first day in the park then tomorrow will be the second day and so forth. Again, don't give up!

Just wanted to tell you all how much I appreciated your thoughtfulness , kind wishes, and dust today. My legwas hurting and I was really wishing I was at the Lodge in the hot tub.......Some of your posts were so heartwarming and I could really feel your hugs. It is looking like it will be about 6 weeks until I am sufficiently healed from this first surgery to go for the total knee. I shall let you know when I am going. Thanks again, guys, you are the best..........:)

BlueFairy-if I remember correctly from our last trip, the boat didnt begin running before 7:30, maybe that has changed.
We have a 8:25 PS for CRT, so I will let you know when we return how early the boats start for sure.
Otherwise you may need to take the bus.
My best advice is to always leave earlier than later. You dont realize how long it takes you to get from place to place.
The boat ride is quick, but then you have to walk to th entrance, go through security, go through the turnstiles then walk a ways to the castle.
During our last trip we always seemed to be running late for our PSs, just because something looks close on a map it never seemed to be for us! This trip I allowing plenty of travel time plus we have a rental car.
