My family has never been much for shows. But, even so, we appreciate that others like them and, more importantly from our perspective, they absorb crowds, making the lines shorter for everything else. (Same with meet and greets, though, obviously, those don't eat crowds to nearly the same degree.) Not only does the continued trimming of shows and other entertainment (if the rumor is true) make Disney less unique, it also makes the ride lines longer. Which is a major drag for people who come to Disney mostly for the rides. Combine this with the stingy hours cutbacks, and you can expect the parks to be more crowded and the lines to be longer. Ugh.
