We're seriously considering next March during spring break to avoid the heat. Just want to know the breakdown of your public school's typical spring break period (based on this past spring).

Thanks for asking this question! I have always wondered this myself! You always hear that spring break is so terrible but I think schools vary widely on when the time is taken off. We used to live in Florida and in our distict spring break was always Good Friday and then the week after Easter. As you know, the timing of Easter can vary greatly. We went to Disney once over this Easter break and it was packed. Now we have lived in 2 different school districts in Illinois. Our break here is always end of March NO MATTER when Easter is! We already have the schedules for the next 2 years. We are going to try our luck and go down next March, I have already made our first DVC reservations for then. We don't like to take the kids out of school, and our last 2 trips have been July and August. We are from the south so the heat isn't so bad to us, but we wanted to try something different this time. I wonder if Disney is just always packed from President's Day in February until the week after Easter, whenever that falls?

our schools is always the last week of March no matter when easter is. It makes it nice if you need to make plans.

Our schools follow whenever Easter is. If Easter is in April then break is in April. It is is in March, then break is in March.
The way we plan is to go right after Easter. We never hit any crowds then.

I will NEVER go to WDW during Spring Break again. We have been in May, early June, and October and March for Spring Break. March was by far the worst time we had with screaming kids and rude young adults (high school) running over my DS3 at the time.

We made the best of it, but vowed never to go during spring break again.

We have been in early March twice and will never go at that time again. It is way too crowded for us--and we have been at Christmas the last 2 years

Our school breaks in mid-March, but the other district in town breaks in mid-April(they also break in February). We're very close to you Vicki-just up in New Braunfels.

I've been to WDW twice in March & DW & I just returned from DL during our most recent spring break. It was already hot in Florida & very crowded. I've found early to mid-June to be better as far as crowds.
