need technical help making door signs!!

I have a really really dumb question...

1) Are you making these signs magnetic? If so, do you laminate them first? Can you take a Disney sign like this to a staples or office max, or is there a copyright problem?

2) If not magnetic, what tape do you use to attach them to the door? Is it okay with DCL to use tape on their doors?

I am a 1st time cruiser and I really want to use all of the Disney Creation CDs I have to make a sign etc. When we went to WDW, I made our own autograph books with the characters pictures etc. I love personalizing things like this!

Yes, people make the signs magnetic. Tape on the cabin doors is a no no because it's very difficult for the cabin stewards to remove the tape.

You can: (1) print the signs on magnetic paper; (2) use a Xyron to laminate and magnetize the signs; or (3) buy those magnet strips and affix them to the signs.

As for copyright issues, I'm not an IP lawyer, but Disney allows people to use certain clip art for personal, noncommercial home use if (i) you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices, (ii) you make no modifications to the materials, and (iii) you do not use the materials in a manner that suggests an association with any of their products, services, or brands.

I wouldn't sell the sgns on ebay, but I think you're safe sticking it on your cabin door on a Disney cruise.

I will have to try my luck with Staples or one of those places to see if I can get it laminated. I don't have the proper equipment to do it at home!

I think I have peel and stick magnets in the girls craft stuff...boy do I have projects galore this week!

I mainly use microsoft publisher. In that program you can "layer" your boxes so you can overlap the margins of the boxes without cutting off part of your images. What software are you using? Try searching on your help screen about layering.

I print on magnetic paper because it seems to be the simplest.

You know what would be neat??? You could laminate the sign, then attach a (permanent) magic marker to it with a string and leave a message encouraging fellow cruisers to sign their names and cities on it.

I think it'd be a cool keepsake and addition to the photo album.

Anyone ever tried it?

Gotcha. I downloaded the Disney Script from...this site.
Click on the appropriate download button on the left. Assuming you use Windows, you save BOTH files that come up to

My Computer > C: > Windows > Fonts file

If you have any problems, let me know.

Okay when I did that and hit saved, I waited awhile and nothing else happened. I looked to see if it is there and there isn't any signs of it. What am I doing wrong??? What is Both files?, only one box comes up to open or save?

BETTER NAIL YOUR SIGN TO THE DOOR. My sister in law stayed up until the weeeee hours of the morning making signs for us and somebody stole ALL of the signs on my door during the safety drill! We had a "GO AWAY IVAN CRUISE" sign and a big beautiful welcome sign with all of the disney characters and our family name, along with our alien green Mickey with our DIS screen names on it.
THEN..... 2 days later somebody stole the "GO AWAY IVAN CRUISE" sign off of my dad's door.


NOT VERY MOUSE-LIKE!!!!! Good luck.

Oh, great! So glad it worked!! I know, I didn't see it either when I opened the folder but then in Word it suddenly popped up on my list. Beautiful, isn't it. I was so excited!!

Started my door signs right away...only 55 more days!!!!!
