We want to plan one night where we got to a nice restaurant with great food but need something that's kid friendly. Our hopeful ADR's are:

Crystal Palace
Akershus
Chef Mickey
O'hanna bk and dinner
Kona
Sci-fi

We really liked Narcosses menu but don't really think it's that kid friendly and while our children are reasonably well behaved I don't think they can sit through a 2-3 hour meal and not be squirming without electronic devices in tow which I don't want to bring to dinner.

The kids club is out because we have a 2 year old and I won't hire an outside sitter due to my son is special needs. So, anyone have a suggestion for a non-character dinner that has great foods but isn't a 3 hour ordeal?

Hi, I would say you and your family could do ANY of the NICER restaurants including Narcoosees. Almost ALL Disney restaurants are kid friendly. You may want to book the first seating of the night (like right when the restaurant opens) and tell your waiter/waitress you are NOT looking for a leisurely dining experience. Good Luck and have fun, most of us EXPECT to see young children even at Disney's nicer restaurants. :thumbsup2 joan

I have to agree that all most all WDW place are kid friendly. In Parks I would say Coral Reef, Chefs de France or Brown Derby. At a resort Artist Point or Flying Fish. Or even GF Cafe.

OOOh, I can't imagine putting a tired 2 year old thru a 3 hour dinner. My ds always loved Sci Fi - fun to eat in a car and watch movies. He also loved San Angel although many will disagree with the quality of the food. We always enjoy it. Flying Fish is great food but really loud and you have to walk next door thru the candy shop to get to the bathroom - very distracting and tempting. I agree that all Disney restaurants are kid friendly. Coral Reef, for lunch, at least, is another favorite - again, you will read mixed reviews on the food but it is hard to beat the atmosphere. Wherever you go have a great time.

My vote against is for Kona.. though the food is excellent, I didn't feel it kid friendly, the waiter was a little bit uptight and asked my kids (5 & 7 at the time) not to walk around the restaurant :sad2:, it makes us unconfortable.
All the others are great (I don't like Sci-fi though, didn't enjoy the food or the place), O'hana and Akersus are 100% kid friendly, CP and CM too I guess but I haven't been to any of them so I can't comment.
I will take my kids (8 &10 now) to Narcoosees this next December!! But they survived California Grill 2 years ago, they'll survive Narcoossees now!
Good luck!
