Hi everyone,

I am hoping that you can give me your opinions and reasons for those opinions on two resorts that I am torn between for our trip to WDW in December.

I have three daughters who will be 16, 13 and 4. I need opinions for the 16 and 13 year olds.

My daughters are responsible and independent and will enjoy moving around the different parks without their parents and baby sister in tow. Although, we will be spending the majority of out time in MK.

They have been to WDW, but a LOOOOONNNGGGG time ago (like when they were 8 and 5.)

I am torn between the Contemporary and Polynesian. I MIGHT consider the WL (getting 2 rooms instead of 1) if there is a good argument FOR or in favor of it.

I think they would enjoy the arcades, but not too much, would love some shopping/sighseeing mallish type of walking and shopping (but not tooooo much sightseeing) I think they are going to want to spend a lot of time in the parks, so accessability is key.

As for the pool, that is touch and go. Although, I think they will enjoy swimming. BUT this past Dec. it was a bit on the chilly side which would have nixed the pool thing.

So here are my questions:
Polynesian?
Contemporary?
Or two Rooms at the Wilderness Lodge?

Now, I could get a Theme park view at the CR. BUT that would mean less spending money at the park. So it would be better to get a Garden View.

The Poly would have to be a Garden Room as well and so would the WL rooms.

So, what do you think.. and while you are thinking about that, do you have any suggestions about dining? Where would you NOT miss? What about sit down meals places that you want to eat at, or have eaten?

I would appreciate ALL help.
Thanks!

I would rule out Wilderness Lodge unless they like the outdoors. Also because if you are going to be spending a lot of time in MK the monorail does not go to the WL so youll be taking the boat over which takes more time.
There are perks to both the contemporary and the poly.
If you are staying in BLT I would definitely say go with contemporary. There pool is the hardest to get into on the entire WDW property. There is a floor of a couple shops and an arcade which could be to your family's liking. However if I had to pick, I would without a doubt choose the Poly. I love the atmosphere and what girl doesn't love being on a tropical island. The pool is amazing and I believe they have one of the best slides. Its shaped as a volcano. I am not sure if they have an arcade but they do have shops in the great hall!
Have fun on your trip I hope this helped!

I don't really know much about the resorts, but if you are planning on going to Downtown Disney, then I definitley recommend the 'Earl of Sandwich'; they have the most delicious sandwiches ever. Also, the Rainforest Cafe is really nice. Hope this helps a bit.

I've always wanted to stay at Poly!! I just think the theming is sooo cool. If it were me, I would choose Poly over the Contemporary. WL is pretty cool, but I really like the Polynesian.

I think the contemporary would be best.-- Besides the fact of the monorail, it's like 5 min of walking to MK and chef Mickeys ROCKS! The view is great and they finished re-doing the pool. The poly is like if you've wanted to have the Hawaiian experience without going to Hawaii. The food isn't bad and the view is really nice. There are a few more sit down eateries here than the Contemporary. With both of the resorts, they are close enough to see the evening fireworks from MK. WL is more for the out-doorsy camping type people. It's very secluded and the only way to leave the area is either by bus or taking a car. The hoop-de-do musical revue is def. something to check out.

Polynesian all the way. I've stayed at both the Contemporary (when I was 12) and the Polynesian (when I was 13). The Poly wins hands down. It is a BEAUTIFUL resort, they have AMAZING service, everything is so convenient- the walk to the Ticket and Transportation center (to get to EPCOT) is realllllly short and the monorail is very convenient also.

I do like the Contemporary, but in my opinion it just doesn't have that special touch like the Polynesian does. The Poly is better for kids/teens and adults too (:

I say Poly all the way. It is a wonderful hotel, and their hawaiian breakfast with Lilo & Stitch is the best. So your younger children can meet some characters!

Contemporary to me is more for adults with littler kids (:

My favorite places for ADRs:

'Ohana (Polynesian)
Tutto Italia (Italy- Epcot)
Le Cellier (Canada- Epcot)
Chef Mickey's (Contemporary)
1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)

hotels-Definitely Poly.
As for restaurants, I really really like kona Cafe.

Hoop-de-doo Musical Revue (WL)
Chef Mickeys Buffet (CR)
Ohana's (Poly)
1900 Park fare (GF)
Spirit of Aloha (Poly)
Tusker house--kinda hard to get in (animal kingdom theme park)
Crystal Palace(magic kingdom)
