NEED SOME HELP!!! WDTC vs. CRO-- I'm Confused!!

This is my situation-- We want to go the week of Dec.7-14-- I am really hoping they extend the FTP so I called WDTC and put 2 rooms at the CR Tower on hold and I have yet to make the 200 deposit.

I'm aware of the cancellation policies with both WDTC and CRO but I went with WDTC because if the FTP is extended for our stay the way I understand it they are the only ones who can book a package.

My question comes-- what if they FTP is'nt extended-- I would still be interested in a room only code. Can WDTC turn my existing reservation over to CRO or will I have to cancel that one and start all over with CRO. I decided to book it now so that we would not have to worry about the Tower rooms possibly being gone if we waited until a later date.

Or should I call back WDTC now and switch to CRO and then if the FTP comes out then go back to WDTC--- but would'nt that be the same senario and I would have to cancel the existing reservation and possibly lose the 2 Tower rooms I had and take a chance of them being available when the codes come out???

I'm really confused but my most important objective right now is to know that I have the rooms no matter what.At WDTC they told me I have until 45 days before to cancel with no penalty and by that time which is in October I'm assuming I'll know of any codes that will be useful for our time frame. I'm pretty sure from what the CMs tell me that if they are going to extend the FTP we will know way before then.

Maybe there are some benefits of CRO I'm not reading about but the only real difference to me is the cancellation of 5 vs 45 days. Maybe someone can clear me up on this. Either way I don't want to lose out -- if a package is offered I'm better to go with WDTC and if room only codes I'm better of with CRO--or have to go through them. I Don't know what to do at this point because we don't know if and when codes or pacakges will be released. Please if anyone can help me make the best decision I would truly appreciate it! Thanks!

Help Please! I'm not sure whether to keep my current reservation or to make another one. Does anyone know if you can have 2 reservations at once -- one with CRO and one with WDTC??

If the FT package is extended, regardless of your current reservation, you are not guaranteed a Tower Room. They only set aside a certain number of rooms for the FT package, and you currently have full-price rooms reserved. I know this, because my friend is currently trying to book the FT for late October. The only deluxe she could get with the FT package was the Poly. If she wanted to pay full price, she could have ANY resort she wanted. If a Tower room is available with the FT if they are extended, you can then have your deposit transfered to the new ressie. If you have to get an AP rate or a code ressie, you'd have to check availability there first, and make a completely new ressie, with new deposit. You'd then cancel your current room only ressie and receive a refund of that deposit. I hope this helps.

Thanks jel0511-- I know we are'nt neccessarily guaranteed a Tower room that's why I have one now -- I know i have it-- I'm just hoping that if they extend anything I will find it out here quickly and will be able to get a Tower room with that package. I know they're available for the CR Tower rooms for the FTP because many people have posted here that they are staying at the CR with the FTP and they've posted their savings.But, I also know that does'nt necessarily mean if they extend it my room type will be available---I'm just really hoping!!!

maybe I can help a bit.

If you have a WDTC room booked, and want to change to CRO, you cannot transfer the deposit. Likewise for the reverse. One will have to be cancelled and a new one booked. They are two separate entities.

As for the FT package--I doubt they will extend it. Even if they do, just because you have a room booked now does not mean you will be able to get that room if they extend the FT package.

Basically it works like this--there is a barrell of apples and oranges and bananas. The apples are the full price rooms, the oranges are the FT package rooms, and the bananas are the discounted room only rooms. Just because you have an apple right now does not mean you can make it an orange or a banana. There has to be an orange or banana there for the change. Am I making any sense? (fruit salad--yummy, yummy! )

Anyway, my suggestion to you is to book what you are most comfortable with--either the CRO room or the travel room (as far as the cancellation policy) since it won't make a difference in getting a discounted room. If you are able to find a discount then that is awesome--if not, you have the room booked with the payment/cancellation policy you are most comfortable with.
